The reason for this YELP review is to express gratitude for the crew in charge of sending us down the snow lanes. My daughter (4yrs old) was so terrified to go down the slides and they were so kind. So gentle. Such great cheer leaders to motivate her to do it. After 3 attempts they finally convinced her to do it and she loved it. My parents (both in their 70's) my husband my daughter and myself will talk about this experience for years to come. While at dinner my dad thanked us for making today one of his favorite days in his life. My little one is still talking about how fun it was and how everyone clapped for her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I could hug the guys working there I would've. Thank you thank you and thank you.

So.... stinkin'..... much..... fun…read more I knew nothing about this place until we went to Idaho to visit my brother and sister-in-law. They'd rolled their eyes, promised, nearly guaranteed there'd be snow. I mean it's bloody Idaho....in January. There WILL be snow. But of course, the few days we were there? None on the ground and not a single flake fell. But the Gateway saved us! Like I said we knew nothing. So we didn't book or pay on-line or sign any waivers in advance. We rolled up with cash in our pockets and said we wanted to play. The runs were fast and fun. There was one with a jump large enough that I got airborne several times. The staff that manned the runs were upbeat and energetic. And it was a great opportunity for this hevier-than-he-ought-to-be visitor to get some vigorous exercise. I loved the intertube design!! Someone clearly has given that some thought. The skins that covered the intertubes were freakishly fast and the handles were thick and rugged and comfortable. It was especially awesome to set the intertube down at the top of a run, back up 3 or 4 big steps, and give it a running, leaping start. Just for a minute as I was in the air or as I was screaming sideways down the run I could relish the sense of invincibility that teenagers and 20-somethings enjoy as a routine part of life. It was wonderful.

I was told it was free, so definitely had to check it out while waiting for my friends to finish up at the penitentiary. I enjoyed checking out all the rocks on display. I enjoyed the large 3D printer dinosaur. The guy working there was nice and gave interesting facts. Definitely check out this little gem after visiting the penitentiary! (See what I did here! Just a super pleasant park. Always clean af, great views of the foothills, happy people and even happier doggies!....which makes it even better :) Big open fields for soccer and whatnot. We see soccer tournaments there a lot. So with them, it gets crowded as hell...otherwise, it's a park you should check out.. It was sunny, warm and beautiful out today so I took it as a sign to take a bike ride along the river. I started my ride at the Marigold and Glenwood entrance. I made my way down the path. A lot of construction going on for the new park that is being built by the Fairgrounds. I look forward to checking it out when it's finally complete. The ride along the river was beautiful. The trail was easy to ride and had a lot of spots you can stop at to check out. Wildlife, plant life and of course the water. Every stretch of the river is so different. I did stop at a part of the river that looked like a lagoon. The trees covering the benched area. The sun shining through the branches. You get beautiful rays of sun peaking through. It was truly a magical area. Made my way further down by the white water rafting area. People everywhere on thier bikes or folks just walking. Everyone had the same idea about enjoying this beautiful weather today. We were all soaking up mother earth. I biked all the way down to Main and Chinden. I decided to flip around. I still had to ride my bike home and didn't want to overwhelm myself with a longer ride back to my house which was another mile from the Marigold entrance. If I would have had a partner with me or have driven to the river, I probably would have continued on. But, that's for another adventure! This stretch of the river was so pretty. I'm happy I got to check it out today. It's amazing how beautiful our little city is. I'm looking forward to checking out the other side of the river heading towards Eagle. I'm sure it's just a beautiful as what I experienced today.

I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

On first glance, it wasn't what we were looking for as a potential wedding venue, but we still enjoyed an afternoon outing, walking in the park, getting some sunlight, and seeing the rest of the location. Just shortly passed the park was Indian Creek so we got to watch it flowing by like a raging river. It was truly spectacular. Well, not necessarily part of the park itself. It's definitely a nice charm. Just a stone. Throw away the park and plenty of space for kids, a picnic area, and a very large porta potty.

Our youngest turned 5 and we wanted to throw him an extra special birthday party with friends. We've done private room bowling parties before and they're so great for enjoying time with other families and kids. You have a sectioned off private area so kids can run around and play and adults can relax and chat knowing the little ones can't escape easily. This was a 10/10 party! We paid for: 20 kids to bowl for 3 hours in the Z Lounge, endless soft drinks for 2 hours, 5 large 1 topping pizzas for the 20 kids and then adults had leftovers. We let the adults know it was a party for kids only to bowl and we'd have drinks and pizza for the kids and the adults were welcome to order food and drinks with a waiter that came to and from the room often. We also kept the $200 in arcade money and 20 ride/attraction passes for our kids instead of sharing them with the kids that came to the party. Our kids had an amazing time using those at a later date. It was totally worth it for everyone to have an amazing time and not have to host a party in our home. You were given a certain amount of time and when it was up, you had to go ask for more time. There was a chance that you would have to go on a waiting list. They were busier than in New Years Eve. The bowling sitting area and floor was dirty from food making it slippery and I actually fell on my first ball. We ordered fries and a pretzel. Both were good except we didn't receive the fry sauce I ordered and we were not given any napkins or ketchup. I went and asked for both. I took the fry sauce as a loss. Games have become way over priced at $1.50 each. Plan to spend money and go in a day where there is a deal to make it worth your while.
