Time stops here so don't expect everything to be as the time slot shows. It's a dirt road out to a house with a little old sign that barely appears to be the business. We pulled in and looked around for the owner and eventually found him preparing everything for our ride. It took some time standing around waiting for some of this family to arrive to go on the ride with us. In the mean time we let the goats and chickens and horses. All the horses look well taken care of and all the animals seem happy so that was a good sign. There's a definitely a moment of "what did I get us into" when we pulled up to the barn and saw the behind the scenes and waited around a bit for them to load everything up into the trailer. We followed them to the trailhead in our car and then saddled up and headed out. I've been on better trails before for the ride so it was a bit underwhelming, but the Florida foliage was unique and pretty. Our guide was training a new lead horse so we had a few jumpy moments, but he knows what he's doing and showed us his training skills. All our horses were very well behaved and felt safe to be on. Overall, it's definitely a novice business and nothing special, but the opportunity to interact with some real country folks made it feel authentic and was neat.

The feed was over 6 months old! Called and asked them to replace the feed and to please check the dates. Got replacement feed and it was still moldy and old. They told us if we wanted a credit we would have to bring it back to the store even though they were coming out to deliver hay. Two weeks later we ordered alfalfa and it had a very grey color and had mold inside the first few bales so we asked them to replace it. When I called up to order hay the following week, they told me they no longer wanted to do business with us because we were too picky. I guess they felt we should just feed our horses moldy hay and feed!

Given that straight timothy--which is the preferred added forage (in addition to whatever pasture we have , what with freezes and droughts)--is increasingly difficult to find as it is, and that many local places offer damaged, moldy, or otherwise inferior bales at higher prices, Sanders Farms rules totally--the tomothy that was delivered this morning was Gorgeous and at a far better price than any bales of inferior hay from other places. In addition, they deliver for a modest fee and a minimum order--well worth it. Their hay is so beautiful that my help just stood smelling it a few minutes--face pressed to the stems. My mother passed away on the 8th of June and we had made arrangements with Coast to Coast. I have…read morenever had to make final arrangements before. It could not have been easier and the staff (Sarah in particular) could not have been any kinder. She sent me the paperwork via e-mail, I filled it out and we went from there. Any questions I had were answered, and when we went to do the final paperwork and selection of an urn, they were so sympathetic and warm, making the experience pleasant--despite the devastation I was feeling. When the time came, they were so gentle and respectful of my mother when they lay her on the stretcher to bring her to their facility. When we informed them she was a veteran, they provided a flag to drape her in. When we picked up her remains, the flag was folded and was presented to me. Also, the process was very quick and they kept me apprised of everything! She passed on the Saturday, she was cremated on Wednesday and we picked her up on Monday. (They do ask that you schedule a time to come in. Not a hardship.) I cannot praise them enough nor thank them enough for everything, especially the gentleness in which they treated my mother. They really made the experience non-traumatic and easy. I highly recommend them. (And if you are worried about the price points, they are extremely reasonable and don't rush you to pay.
