Twice a year the school allows parents the opportunity to sit inside the classroom and observe, and I've been consistently blown away by the focus exhibited by the children as they move through their work cycles, and how supportive and nurturing the teachers are, while also encouraging independence. The teacher to student ratio is very low, and our child receives a lot of individualized attention as a result. He is learning so much at such a young age and has made some wonderful friends. The location is excellent for NYC commuters, as the 166X bus stop is couple minutes walk away. They are also very generous allowing parents to park their cars in the parking lot for the whole day. The TLE app is a convenient way of staying up to date with daily activities, updates, billing and communication from teacher. Photos of kids daily activities are posted every on the app. TLE has great curriculum to teach kids letters, numbers, colors, shapes, vocabulary. Our daughter was so much ahead and academically prepared for K, thanks to TLE. For different age groups they also have special events like field trips for Pre K and K students, water activities during summer. They really give so much personal attention to the kids. My little one definitely learns things there that we, as new parents, weren't even thinking about. They helped her walk, drink out of a sippy cup, and interact so well with other kids. We went to bright horizons first, and don't get me wrong, they are great, but so expensive, the kids are separated by age and therefore the babies aren't around a lot of more advanced kiddos so might not have as many opportunities to learn. She always communicates with parents if something good or bad is going on with their child. Both my sons attended last year. Now only my 2yr old attends because the oldest one started school. The woman in charge has really helped both my boys learn a lot. They've become more social and know how to interact with other children (sharing, taking turns, etc.). She worked with me and helped my 2yr old with potting training, which I think is a plus. He also knows the colors, numbers, alphabets, and more. She really works with the children and teaches them new skills. In the summer time, they take trips to the park. So they aren't always stuck in the house. Everyday is a lesson and my boys have reported have a good day every day that they have attended and attend now. Overall I am satisfied with this daycare and would recommend it to other parents, especially those in the neighborhood.
