She associates her uniform with "going to school", which is a great visual prompt to get us ready & out the door each day. 2) The administration and staff are so helpful & have been extra accommodating to her special needs. There is a great curriculum including an introduction to Spanish language skills & preschool preparation (tracing letters, using glue sticks & scissors, etc) . It's truly like a school rather than just a daycare facility. She loves her teachers Mrs Ruth & Miss Justine :) 3) The tech used by the facility is great. The staff is incredibly consistent (low turnover from what I have observed) and therefore, it really gives a community feel. They never hesitate to give me updates, particularly when my son first transitioned to daycare and are always so supportive during transitions and milestones. - The hours are flexible and helpful for parents commuting to work. Originally, our daughter was going to attend the Secaucus public school at the start of the year and it was still unclear if they were going to be remote, in person or hybrid due to the pandemic. Kiddie Academy offered a safe, structured, in person program with limited enrollment of 10 children. This worked best for what we were looking for during this difficult time for everyone and her development. The limited enrolment with a primary and a secondary teacher allowed for a lot of 1:1 time with the students. Our daughter was not a number of many but one of few and she thrived. The school, since it is private, was able to advance their curriculum when all of the students demonstrated an understanding of the subject matter. Due to their curriculum, teaching style and 1:1 time she is able to read independently, add, subtract, count by 1's, 2's and 5's, solve word problems etc. It is amazing how much our daughter has grown since September building upon what she learned in their Pre-K program. The experience we have had over the past 5+ years with the teachers and administration have been pleasant and I never doubted that our daughter was receiving anything but the best care and education. Parkside establishes a consistent routine that has teachers from neighborhood schools asking if my daughters attended Parkside. The school organizes many field trips that making learning interactive and fun. They also have numerous activities that allow the parents to be engaged in what's happening in the school such as parent nights, holiday parades and shows, magicians, multicultural events, and spring carnivals. They do have occasional bake sales to raise money for these extra events but they are only a few times a year and my daughters always loved being able to pick out a cookie or cupcake to bring home. The school has been unexpectedly closed MULTIPLE days during this 2023-24 school year due to facilities issues. The students and parents are notified with less than 24hrs that the school is simply closed, not once but multiple times. There's is no make-up of the curriculum missed, no reimbursement of after-school paid classes. While our daughter had lovely teachers and received a beautiful care from the school's Nurse Ms Cathy, the administration is not a match. Despite the challenges listed above and lack of resolution/ commitment, the school submitted a 11% increase of the tuition for the next year.

I had to pull her out of the daycare because one day we picked her up and she was drooling excessively. She was complaining that she had eaten something spicy. When I called the daycare to inquire they said they tasted the food and that there was nothing spicy in it. About 30min while I was scheduling a doctor's appointment for her to see what was wrong, she ended up coughing up a 1 inch long chicken bone. Turns out that they serve the kids Chinese food from a local restaurant. I was appalled and unaware that several times a week my child was being fed takeout. Yes it's true- the caretakers there are very sweet and the daycare itself is very flexible with your schedule. The facility itself is dark, not a lot of natural light and small. I'm not a fan of the infant room because it's built more like a den. I was hesitant to enroll my infant there for that reason. The staff is great and friendly, but the fact that they're serving toddlers take out is completely unacceptable. I notified the city and the daycare refunded my deposit. They apologized for what happened and said they were going to discontinue ordering food from that restaurant.
