I had the matcha strawberry blend, and I am very surprised with the flavors. I really taste the matcha but it doesn't overpower the strawberry and vice versa. It was a good balance. It doesn't look as pretty as my friend's peach latte though. My friend also really enjoyed her peach latte and said she could really taste the coffee. I like my drink so much I have to go back again soon!! The place is overall small but cute and clean. There is a big photo booth inside that takes up space but it's a good attraction point as well. Staff was also ok.
We knew we had to get Junbi while we were in Houston for the weekend. They had a seasonal drink -- Pandan Matcha Latte and it was so refreshing! Of course, I had my usual Blended Dirty Matcha. Before we left town, we also got some of their delicious rice balls. They were perfect for the drive home and tasted really fresh. The space is so cozy and I love that they have board games we can play if we want to stay a while. There was also a photo booth for those who wanted to take pictures and have them printed out. There was a line and we were in a rush so we decided to skip it. We're definitely going back next time we're in Houston!
Junbi is located in Katy Asia town and offers a variety of drinks (i.e. matcha lattes, cold brews, hojicha, fruit teas, smoothies, etc.) The interior is super vibrant and cute with their use of bright colors and wood accents. My friend and I ended up ordering the Ube Matcha Latte and Pandan Matcha Latte with boba. And yes, you are able to adjust the sweetness, milk, and ice! S/O to our bobarista Paul! He was very helpful when it came to deciding what drink to order and had such good energy! Both drinks were yummy! I tasted both the pandan and ube more than the matcha but they were both still delicious! And the boba was soft and chewy. Overall, my friend and I both enjoyed our experience at Junbi and I can't want to come back and try their hojicha
I came in with high hopes for this spot based on what I had heard, but the drinks fell short of expectations. I ordered a few different ones to try: a Pandan Matcha Latte with Almond Jelly, another with Aloe Bits, and a Golden Peach Matcha Latte. The matcha itself was the biggest letdown. It seemed pre-made from a dispenser, and all three drinks tasted watered down. The pandan flavor came across as overly artificial, which overpowered rather than enhanced the drink. I was really looking forward to the Golden Peach Matcha Latte, but even the peach puree could not bring enough life to it. Maybe I visited on an off day, but I was definitely expecting more from this place. On the positive side, the decor is very cute and the staff were warm and attentive, which made the experience better overall.
I recently stopped by the Katy Asian Town area, and I decided to check out Junbi per my sister's recommendation. For a random Wednesday evening, I was surprised that the store was completely packed. They have a wide variety of matcha drinks, milk teas, fruit teas, refreshers, coffees, smoothies, soft serves, and rice balls. I got the coffee milk blend, and I really liked it. The drink had just the right amount of coffee without it being overpowering or bland. Not pictured, but I also tried their new pandan matcha latte, and that was really tasty. You could really taste both the pandan and the matcha flavors. I would definitely be back again next time I'm in the Katy Asian Town to try more things on their menu.
Junbi is one of the only spots on the west side where I can find hojicha so it's been my go to when I'm out of powder and I can't make it on my own. I usually get the hojicha latte with cold foam, oat milk and light ice. It ends up being pretty pricy since they charge for alt milk, but convenience keeps me coming back. The yuzu dragonfruit refresher is my favorite drink in the summer and definitely with the price. I've also tried a few seasonal drinks and collabs. Overall, I keep coming back for the convenience, the customer service and the cute and clean space. They have a little Photo Booth and merch as well!

I was really excited when I heard that Junbi was opening a location in Katy, Texas! I was already aware that they have many locations in other states like California and Hawaii. We ordered the Madagascar Vanilla Latte, Matcha Cold Brew, and the Guava Matcha Latte. The Madagascar latte was my favorite! I loved how you could taste the espresso, unlike most lattes where the coffee flavor tends to get lost when the milk and sugar is added. It had a great balance of flavors and wasn't overly sweet. As for the matcha drinks, I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of matcha in general, so my opinion might not be the best gauge for matcha lovers. The Matcha Cold Brew was not for me--it had a very powerful matcha taste, which I know some people would appreciate, but it was a bit too intense for my preference. On the other hand, the Guava Matcha Latte was more in my comfort zone. The milk helped dilute the matcha, making it less intense, which I liked. Plus, the guava puree added a nice tartness that balanced the drink really well. Overall, I can tell that Junbi uses high-quality matcha imported from Japan, not the kind you'd find at large coffee franchisees. If you're a matcha lover, this place is definitely worth checking out! I'd personally come back for that vanilla latte again and to try their matcha soft serve ice cream.
I don't know what happened to this place but it is not the same. The drinks are now in these coffee style containers which makes it harder to mix your drink. I guess they are trying to save cost, but it's messing up the experience. I also don't know if this is a corporate change or just a store change, but it is not a good one. They also have two different sizes now, but are ridiculously expensive. I have always ordered the rose water matcha cold brew and it usually comes with petals, or they ask if you want petals. Today it wasn't even on the menu, but the girl said they could make it. It came out horrible. It tasted like watered down matcha with some sweetener in it. There were no petals. I was really disappointed. I couldn't even properly mix my drink. My husband ordered the madagascar vanilla matcha cold brew and his tasted watered down too. One of the reasons we loved this place was that the matcha doesn't taste generic or watered down. It always was a quality matcha. Not today it wasn't. This place used to be a go to for us in KAT, but after today don't think I will be going anymore.
My sister has been liking matcha more and wanted to try Junbi. We ordered the mango matcha and the Madagascar vanilla matcha latte. Out of the two, we both liked the Madagascar vanilla matcha latte more. The matcha earthiness was still present, supported by the subtle sweetness of the vanilla. Next time, I think I would ask for it extra sweet but that's personal taste. I wasn't a big fan of the mango matcha latte. The flavoring was good when I mixed it but the texture of the mango bits kind of threw me off. I also felt like the matcha flavor in this one was a bit stronger than in the Madagascar vanilla latte. We came during dinner rush on Saturday so there was a bit of a wait to order and get our drinks but the decorations were cute and they have a photobooth!
Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba, 10/10! So happy to visit this tea shop. I've never had a matcha latte with boba before and I know this time won't be my last! My drink was sweet, creamy, icy and refreshing. The matcha was not too overpowering and I could tell they used fresh strawberries for the syrup, none of that powdery stuff! It was super busy most likely since it just opened however we got our drinks within 8 minutes. We also got to take some fun pictures in their photo booth. It was $8 for 2 copies of a 4 pose strip. Will definitely return!
Tried their signature matcha latte, but was left a bit disappointed. The drink tasted quite watered down and lacked the bold, earthy matcha flavor I was hoping for. At $9.20 after taxes ($6.50 latte + 1.25 soy milk sub + .75 boba), it's definitely on the pricier end for Houston. For that price point, I expected a much thicker drink. Even in the picture you can see how light it is. Also on the menu, the non-dairy substitute is only .75c unlike the $1.25 that I was charged.
I was hoping for a good matcha experience, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet expectations. I ordered the 'Madagascar Vanilla Matcha' but it tasted more like watered-down milk than the rich, vibrant flavor I am use to having. It was pretty disappointing, especially given how much it was hyped up. On top of that, the customer service was lacking. The employees seemed cold and unfriendly, which made the whole experience feel less welcoming. I wasn't expecting overly cheerful service, but a little warmth would have made a big difference. I will say that there menu offers a lot of different flavor matchas compared to other places. The place is super cute. They even have a photobooth you can take pictures in.

I really want to love this place as I've been here about three times now, and each time I've left a little underwhelmed by the drinks. I've tried a few different ones, but I keep wishing for more depth in flavor... like the earthiness of matcha or the brightness of citrus to really come through. It's especially disappointing considering I commute quite a ways to get here. That said, the shop itself is super cute! I love the decor and the cute little Photo Booth inside! it's a cozy little tea spot with so many matcha options, probably the most I've seen in Houston. The service has always been great too. The staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations, which I really appreciate. I haven't found the one yet, but I'm not giving up. I'll definitely keep trying this and hopefully, with a little customization, I can find a combo that really hits the spot. read more

I have been here multiple times since grand opening, I like the vibe of this place, it can get busy, but typically during the week it's pretty free flowing, easily snag a table. there is a photo booth inside!! I normally get less sweet everything, they sell merch too and plenty of matcha accessories. I have ordered guava matcha latte, limited edition matcha latte, early gray, matcha cold brew... and a few other things, and they also have matcha soft serve!!! honestly, haven't found "the one" since their menu is so big, review to be continued read more

I visited junbi with some friends to visit the photobooth! We got the soft serve ice cream and some matcha drinks and they were amazing!!! I would totally recommend the soft serve ice cream. I liked the one with the espresso coffee as the coffee flavor balanced well with the sweetness of the ice cream. The mango matcha latte and strawberry matcha latte were also delicious!! The inside was very clean and modern. Limited seating is available as the shop is pretty small. read more

This is in my top 3 boba spots in Houston! I really love Junbi and can advocate for the consistency in drinks. I think that they do matcha well despite it being batched and better than most places that hand curate theirs. Their drinks are creative and the flavors always stand out. My favorite is the Ube Matcha. Overall, 8/10. read more

The drinks were pretty average. I used the kiosk to order, but wasn't prompted to adjust sweetness or ice levels for my drink. I found my cold strawberry matcha cold brew with cream top a bit on the sweeter side and struggled to taste the matcha, though I typically prefer a stronger matcha flavor. The hot drink wasn't very hot and tasted like there was a little bit of sweetener that wasn't preferred as well. I suggest ordering from the counter and confirming if adjustments can be made as I might of just missed it with the kiosk or maybe it's not available there. The temporary Miffy collaboration was absolutely adorable! Wouldn't mind coming back to try some other drinks but wouldn't make a trip out to Katy just for this. read more

Jasmine milk tea w/matcha - 8.5/10 - I got this with ceremonial matcha so it was strong, best for those who like the real stuff Mango matcha - 9/10 - So refreshing and the mango flavor didn't overpower the matcha flavor Matcha latte - 8/10 - Got this less sweet and it was good but i wish the matcha was stronger Madagascar vanilla latte - 8/10 - Loved the matcha flavor but was very sweet. I've been loving matcha recently, and thought this place was super cute! They currently have a limited collab w/ Miffy, can it be any cuter? One of the workers at front (didn't get his name) helped me out with choosing a drink since the menu has so many options! I decided to get the "Cold Blueberry Matcha Cold Brew" w/ a splash of oat milk. It was really good! Their matcha tastes strong and vibrant. The blueberry flavor wasn't overpowering which I liked. I wanna try their other drinks next time, but I am going to snag me a matcha tin ofc! A great place to study at, or to catch up with friends. Already a great impression. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was so packed there was a line going out the door. The store is quite spacious and utilizes their space. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to order but I didn't mind because there was so many options ! I had ordered their Miffy Sakura Lychee Matcha blended since I was iffy between that and the iced miffy Sakura lychee matcha latte and the cashier said that she preferred that version. She also did not rush and was so helpful talking my mom and I through the drink selection when the line behind us continued to grow. I thought it was good, you can taste both the lychee and Sakura without overpowering the matcha. This shop has a unique variety with pairings that go well. I also got the glass bowl for my matcha because I am in love with how simple it looked. read more

The store is super cute!! The place is decorated so pretty and there is also a photobooth in the corner for $8-10 for prints, which makes it a cute and fun dessert run. Hands down LOVED the Miffy Sakura Lychee Matcha. There were both hints of sakura and lychee w lychee purée which did not overpower the matcha. The strawberry matcha was also just as good. We came during soft opening and the space was very aesthetic and spacious, even with a whole line to the door. The line moved quickly and we were able to order pretty quick. We both got guava matcha lattes, mines with oat milk because she's a lactose intolerant girlyyyy. Definitely recommend this drink ITS SO GOOD. Very unique and refreshing, not overly sweet. And it's aesthetic for the gram too. AND the straws, lid, cup, literally everything was biodegradable and/or recyclable. The only thing was my lid wasn't sealed properly, so it was leaking when I tried to tilt it to shake, but hopefully it's fixed by now! Definitely would love to try other drinks and their snackies on the menu. read more

Great quality matcha! My boyfriend and I came here before and we both loved it so much, we come back so often. The matcha here is such good quality and the drinks are made so well. There are 2 screens to order if you don't want to really interact with anyone while ordering. Limited seats (probably about 12 seats in here) so if you want a good seat to study, please come early. read more

Stop by after lunch to see the grand opening of this place. There was a small line inside the store, but it didn't take long to get to the front and order your drink. It didn't take long for them to make the drink after ordering it. I got the mango refresher, and it was nice. The mango flavor was there with some purée mix in the drink. I got a sip of the strawberry matcha latte, and it was good with less sugar. Both drinks were good and I can't wait for this store to keep expanding to different cities. This location is hidden off the main area of Katy Asian Town, and the store itself is kind of small. It looks like they are still decorating the store, as well as there were two monitors on the side, not on yet, with card readers. read more

I'm a big matcha girlie, so I was so excited to see another matcha spot opening up in the Houston area! And I was extra excited because of their miffy collab! Unfortunately, when we went on a Tuesday night, they didn't seem to have any miffy merch left. But they are restocking for their grand opening on November 10th. The inside was cute with yellow walls and wooden furniture. There were about 6 tables for you to sit at. They also had a nice playlist playing that matched the cafe vibes. Service was fine here. Our drinks came out fast, but they actually made a mistake with my order, which they kindly fixed when I brought it up. However, the drink was not sealed properly, and ended up spilling on my hoodie. Luckily my friend had a tide pen with her to fix the stain. We ordered: - Strawberry matcha latte - Taro vanilla matcha latte There were so many interesting flavors here that it was hard to choose which drink to get! But I ended up going with what I always get - a strawberry matcha latte. I'll save the more fun flavors for next time! The drinks here were pretty solid. It tasted like they used real fruit in their drinks which I appreciate. I didn't try my friend's taro vanilla matcha latte because I was a little sick, but she said that it was good and had a strong taro flavor. read more

My drinks were great! I got the hojicha matcha and the taro matcha. The boba was chewy and the drinks weren't too sweet nor too heavy. The service was pretty fast and quite sweet. There is some seating inside as well. My only major concern is that my drink wasn't sealed properly. It spilled out a bit(attached). The price here is a bit on the higher side, I paid about $15 for both these drinks. read more

OMG not sure how I've never heard of Junbi before cuz I love love love matcha. My friend informed me of the mock day event they were having where they were giving out free drinks, so I swung by to check out the place. I was seriously impressed with the endless variety of options they had available on their menu- makes me extremely excited for its official opening bc I will be trying as many matcha drinks as I can loooooll. I was stuck between the strawberry matcha latte and guava matcha latte. I ended up choosing the guava matcha latte cuz I've had strawberry matcha before and the guava combo sounded unique so I decided to try something new. I am so glad I did bc it was such a refreshing drink. The guava was sweet and complemented the matcha flavor perfectly! It wasn't terribly busy when my friend and I went, and there were just enough parking spots haha. As we were waiting in line, I realized they were playing some real good music. The service was outstanding, and each drink was crafted with great care and attention to detail! I can't wait to see how junbi will thrive as more people discover it. Will definitely be spreading the word to friends and family about their grand opening on November 10th. I'll be back for sure! High quality all around. read more

This place is so cute! My SIL asked us to go get her their cup and we tried the Rose latte & the strawberry latte. I reeeeeally liked the rose - the strawberry was good but I don't think I was a fan of the chunks in it. But the flavor was good! I think I would go back but their pricing is wayy to steep. It was about $7-$8 for a latte. read more
