We needed three baby teeth pulled and we were on a time crunch (long, boring story). Dr. Wolf's office was efficient and friendly from the first phone call. The receptionist, Rita, explained that I would need to get X-rays of the teeth either from them or from our orthodontist and she explained why. Then she gave me the email to have them sent and she called to confirm when she got them and to schedule the consultation with Dr. Giles who does the extractions. Imagine that? I didn't have to do the follow-up myself. Here are a few other things I liked: We don't have dental insurance and when I inquired about the cost of the procedures and the nitrous, I was given the information I needed. Again - a refreshing change. Our appointment time was 1 p.m. We were seen at 1 p.m. I was able to fill out the new patient forms online. Dr. Giles met with my daughter for the first time at a desk versus in the examination chair - much less intimidating. Dr. Giles herself. She's delightful. If you don't have a pediatric dentist - go there. If you don't have one you like, switch to this one.

And the dentist was socially awkward (but I can look beyond that... it seems like a common trait for dentists to be awkward). Well, even scheduling my appointment over the phone was a pleasant experience. The lady was super friendly and accomodating. She even mailed me the new patient paperwork to get that started for me (along with a free mini calendar). I was going in for 2 cavities to be filled- and the dental hygenist was very friendly and nice- and the dentist... lo and behold... socially normal! He was actually pleasing to talk to! (for the brief moment we chit chatted) I had very little pain during the injections of novacaine or during the drilling of the cavities... I have to say I endured less pain getting my cavities filled, than when the other dentist had just cleaned my teeth. And lets not forget the friendly treatment all around. They created a very calming environment. They will SO be the dentist ppl I call on for years to come.

One of my 6 veeners (one right in the front, of course) was the unfortunate casualty. I made a couple of appointments for consultations in the area, one of which was at Ballas Dental Care. I had feared that I would need to replace more than one veneer in order to get them to match, but when I spoke with Dr. Haines, he seemed certain that he would only need to replace the chipped one. His chill personality and understated confidence made me believe he was the man for the job...and apparently I'm an amazing judge of character and skill because the replacement he put in blended seamlessly with the existing 10-year-old ones. :) Side note: I also received my first ever filling at Ballas Dental Care and have concluded that the dread that I felt every 6 months that my cavity-less streak would end was completely unwarranted. The process was very quick and nearly painless. Overall, I love the staff: from the doctor, to the hygienists, to the front desk folks and would highly recommend Ballas Dental Care.

No!!! Rude!! I went in for a consultation because I was referred to by my dentist who assumed me…read morethey were the best in Ellisville. I met with the tech who shoved this obnoxious mouth piece in to open my mouth more so she could actually take pictures with her camera. I told her it hurt and she continued. The orthodontist then came in and told me there would be another consultation fee that insurance does not cover, of 850.00 just to have a meeting between her, my dentist and myself. We take card. She then proceeded to tell me how much of an overbite I had and it's not guaranteed braces would fix it. She also rudely said I have a speech impediment and I needed to go to speech therapy!! I was horrified! I left the office almost in tears, because I speak very clearly and absolutely have no speech impediment. They said it would be about 7, 000.00 not including the 850.00 for the consultation!!! They are a CASH COW!! They're rude, obnoxious and out for money! That's it. Don't go here!
