You get what you pay for. This Campsite is $20/night, full hookups, has cable-we have Dish…read moresatellite, wifi signal is non-existent (both iPhones on AT&T & Verizon networks worked just fine), big open grass field, no cement or gravel on parking pads-just grass, laundry facility held open w/ a brick - decided to do laundry at our next stop. The kicker was when we realized we got a full fledged ant infestation in our RV. Luckily, I am as meticulous as a person can be, living on a brand new 35' class A w/ full kitchen while traveling across the U.S. on a food tour. Needless to say, I woke up horrified, so we made Walmart our 1st stop to pick-up foggers & traps after killing every one I could see with baby wipes, TP, paper towels & anything else I could find. My murderous rampage has me a little on edge & I am not happy about having to delay our trip while the fogger does its job & then waiting for it to clear. However, I'm just grateful it wasn't something else!!!! A flea market is held on-site every Saturday morning/afternoon. Less than 5 miles from some of Selma's historic attractions. A little noisy after dusk due to the wildlife (frogs, crickets & other night crawling non-mammals) in & around the site, but not RV AC, earplugs & your husbands snoring next to you wont drowned out. Also a group of horses just behind the site, which were not disruptive in any way. I40 is just behind the site, so truck noise begins to be apparent around 7 or 8am. All & all if not for the infestation & necessary aftermath I would have rated this place a 3 based on putting things in their proper perspective.

I've heard of the Brass Bear when I've been to a few estate sales. So when I looked over while…read moredriving by and saw it, I figured I'd check it out. Kind of a mistake. It's a pretty big store, and there is a lot to see. I'm sure there are many fabulous items, but it's not really a place to "stop in and check it out." I think you have to both be in the mood/frame-of-mind to really look at everything and have the time to do it. You could very easily spend all day there. "Just browsing" isn't going to cut it. That said, I had neither the time nor the inclination to spend the time to really give it a good shopping. Instead I found it overwhelming, so I just politely walked most of the aisles only looking at the things that really jumped out at me. Because it was a Saturday, there seemed to be a number of vendors there, so I'm sure there are some interesting stories to be told, and they could surely help if you're searching from something specific.

The Brass Bear has been around for a while and it's still one of the best antique malls regarding…read moreservice and helpfulness to customers. I asked one gentleman at the cashier's desk if he thought a Vendor would be willing to negotiate over price of a specific piece of furniture and he quickly responded, 'Let's give him a call right now.' And sure enough, the Vendor did in fact work with me on the price and I went home with a chair I really wanted. Actually, there is a little bit of everything that collectors hope to see at the Brass Bear at reasonable prices. In addition, parking is free and convenient at the front of the store. Stop by one day when you have a free hour to treat yourself.

Homemade fresh pork skins, Mexican Street Corn, Fresh Lemonade, Polish Sausage. Everything was delicious. I left with washing powder and a mop lol. Totally not what I went for but hey. Can't wait until June to go back. It's only the first Saturday of every month and it's awesome. It takes about 2 hours to walk the entire thing. Bring cash. Go early bcus parking is a beast bcus it's soooooo many people.

We also found some homemade organic soaps of many different sources for health, beauty and fragrance, like eucalyptus, rosemary, pink salt, lemongrass, honey, etc . But when we got to the vendor in the back far corner with the home gadgets , clothing items, toys, tools, misc. I made the mistake of picking up a few things including two 3 pack sets of cotton women's tank tops to use as undershirt. The vendor waved us over and saw what I had and said that is 30 dollar! I said that is too, much. He said i give you deal, 25 for all. he was very pushy and would not let me talk. I felt these tops would be less than that price at Walmart . I felt they should be 5 each. When I got home I had picked up 2 different sizes, L and M. I cannot wear either one. Large fits like a small and M fits like an XS. I want to exchange .
