Doesn't seem like they take good care of anything but their fish. they have hamsters having baby's in the same cage with other hamsters as well as multiple rats having tons of litters in the one tank with two other rats. I don't know if they were dead or alive but I walked in and the one rat was in the middle of delivery. The monkey they have is poorly maintained and looks beyond depressed. On top of all that they have all of their animals in a wood chip bedding when it is known that it can give them upper respiratory infections. I walked into the reptile room and some of the lights weren't even on and those lights are extremely important for their bone growth. They also sell baby turtles. Either red ear sliders or yellow belly slider but I bet they dont even explain how big they get. I thought this place was going to be nice but it seriously disappointed and discussed me to my core. I work at petsmart and I thought the way we keep our animals isnt enough but this place took it to a whole other level. read more

I've gone to this pet store for many years now and some of their enclosures could use some work. The rodents area always smells but I guess there isn't much they can do for that since, well they're rodents. I've noticed that their phone number on google is not correct. In order to contact their store you must get their number off of their Facebook page. Their prices are more expensive than petsmart or Petco, but that's ok. They have a lot of supplies that pet owners need and the employees and owners take good care of their animals for the most part. read more

It's the only exotic store besides petsmart and petco within miles. It's great because it sells a lot of stuff that I've never seen at those 2 stores and is usually much cheaper. They don't have labels on ANYTHING, not even their dry goods. Nothing is priced. This isn't a garage sell, I shouldn't have to walk up with 15 different items and ask the poor cashier how much it's worth. Heard lots of negative things about getting refunds, purchase live animals at your own risk. Only the owner can do refunds and he's hardly ever there. Been going to the jungle since it was only a reptile store and he was the only employee, pretty good place just wish they had labels. I'd buy a lot more stuff besides feeders if I didn't have to ask how much x brand of fish food was every time. read more

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, so hence the reason for my review. My daughter has been wanting a baby hedgehog for several years, but I always said no. For over two years she has researched and begged for one. For Christmas it was her only request, so I gave in, however I could find no local dealers. Someone suggested the Jungle and to my surprise they had them, however their adults had not given birth. Finally on 2/2/18 we found out that they received a shipment of babies, so I went to get hers. The lady who helped me wanted to see if he was a male so she put him in a glass aquarium. She noticed that his hind leg was extended more than normal, but after picking him up said it was most likely it was the way he was sitting. I took him home & immediately my daughter noticed he was dragging his leg. I called the store and the same lady told us to bring him back. We followed up with them the next week & all the other hedgehogs were bigger and my daughter had already grown attached to her baby. They gave us the number to their vet and within the week he was checked out and we were told that most likely something injured him in transport to the pet store and he appeared to have nerve damage. The vet gave us a steroid and told us if it was not better in a month he would have to amputate the leg. My daughter was so in love with it that she accepted it and said that she knew God would heal him. This morning she rushed out to school and asked me to give him his medicine. To my shock he was dead. I immediately called the store when they opened and was told my only option was to trade it out for another. Keep in mind she didn't want the others because they were too big. Fast forward.... When I broke the news to her after school she immediately broke down and cried uncontrollably. After getting her calm we headed off to the pet store. The girl recognized us and said "I'll get the owner". With me standing at the counter, my daughter still visibly upset (holding her dead hedgehog in a box), he said "y'all can go back and choose another hedgehog". No eye contact, no empathy towards my daughter, nothing, so I asked him could he at least have the decency to look me in my face. His response was "I'm really busy". So, I asked what if she doesn't want another hedgehog to which he responded I was not getting a refund, which enraged me. While my child stood there in tears, him still looking past me to continue what he was doing and still no empathy he says "I didn't kill it". WOW! So, I asked him was he implying that my daughter had. His next was response was "I told you that you could get another one, but that is all I'm going to do. I didn't kill it, why should I show empathy and I talked to the vet and he said everything was fine, so something had to happen." By this time I am screaming, because I am upset, but didn't use profanity and tried to stay as calm as I could in front my daughter. Her father who was with us as well asked me to "let him handle it, because he's clearly being an ***hole. Justin the owner then stated "you can leave, I have good Christian customers here". Now this is the part that got me. Not only did you sale me a sick hedgehog, refuse to refund my money within one week, showed no empathy to my daughter, gave me no eye contact even once, but now you assume because of my passion as a mother for my child I am not a good Christian. Me and my children serve a mighty God, not just in word but in action as well. Not only do we have an awesome church with wonderful leaders, but we live a Christian lifestyle daily. So it leaves me to wonder why the caucasian customer was a "good Christian customer" and why this business owner would even bring this into the mix. At this point I left the store, before I forgot what a good Christian I am and allowed my daughter and her father to go back in. Justin the owner was very rude, showed no empathy to a child who stood in front of him visibly upset, showed no professionalism and if I had to say it could care less about my "kind" of Christian. read more

When you call the number it transfers you to someone's full mailbox , they do not know what animals are being delivered to the store, they have 6:00 pm listed as closing time on the weekdays but tell me 5:00 pm. They need to get it together! read more

i went here to get a hamster, i asked one of the ladies "do you guys have any robo dwarf hamsters?" so she showed me where they where. in a little plastic container with at least 15 Chinese dwarf hamsters, one hide, super tiny, no wheel, and little bedding. i didn't get to pick out my hamster, she just grabbed one and she put him up to her face and rubbed her face of the poor guy. keep in mind at pet smart Chinese dwarfs are probably $10-15 now i got my hamster a month or 2 ago but he was $30. crazy price, Oliver is going good but we don't make any bonding process and he doesn't let me pick him up. not to mention that when i got him the box he was put in didn't even fit him. it had about an inch on either side of him. read more

By outward appearances you'd think this place was rough on the inside. However, it is clean perfectly clean & updated. All the critters have very well maintained cages/aquariums. There is a wide variety of fish, snakes, and birds. They even have necessities for animals such as dogs. I would highly recommend The jungle for all your critter needs! read more

I had two very healthy hermit crabs for over a year. I watched them grow. My biggest hermit crab was looking for a new shell in his tank but could not find one that he wanted to stay in, so when I was told there was an exotic pet store close to my home I immediately got excited about that. I went to the store, and everything seemed really neat. However I was there for a while before anyone acknowledged me, so it took me a little while to find the actual items I went in for. Which were new shells for my hermit crabs and new rocks for their tanks. I was kind of upset by their selection and how dirty the area looked, I made my selection and made my purchase and made it home. I was excited to show my little guys the new stuff I got them. I cleaned their tank and put all of their new supplies in. A day later I noticed my smaller guy wasn't moving as much. When I took him out I could tell something was wrong with him, that he had gotten sick. I moved him to a smaller tank to separate him from the other. He died two days later. I noticed that my bigger hermit crab, who was named flash for a reason stopped moving as much too, I started getting really worried. And just as I suspected he died shortly after too. I would strongly recommend against going to this place unless you want your very healthy animals to become sick and die. I was very upset by this experience and will not be returning here EVER again. read more

We were treated very rudely by the owner, which surprised me because I thought we had been very good customers. I had purchased many adult rabbits there, many of whom were unwanted pets or were injured, sick or pregnant, because I wanted to make sure those rabbits got good homes. I think the owner became enraged with us after we discovered one of their tiny baby rabbits (likely separated from its mother too soon) who appeared unresponsive and had a huge mass of feces stuck to its vent. I tried to wipe away the feces with a napkin and then showed the baby to the owner so it could be cared for. I've gotten many good rabbits there and paid an average of $40 for each rabbit. Toaster, Olivia (who had a yeast infection that affected the mucous membranes), Marge (who had been attacked by a male and had a torn and bloody ear), Kitty (who was pregnant when I got her from the Jungle and had four babies), Black Buck (ear infection), Hagrid (an unwanted pet brought in who was extremely matted and had to be shaved) and Ghost (an unwanted pet brought in by a customer). I liked the Jungle and very much wanted to support it, but I think the owner should have exercised a little more patience with me. I was only concerned for the life of that one baby rabbit. Now, whenever we show up, the owner comes running out of the office to intercept us and sternly warns us not to go into the rabbit cages. I will probably never return. read more

We stopped by the shop on our way home from vacation. Loved viewing the animals,but the guy at the desk seemed annoyed every time someone was asking about buying a pet. The animals were very fascinating, so we plan on going back to buy in the near future. Especially since the store is supposed to be expanding. Loved the experience and can't wait to go back. read more
