When I called your company this morning, I was met by a man with a belligerent tone and told my request wasn't worth his time. When I tried to explain my situation (an irresponsible driver hit my lawn and took out a tree and three shrubs) I was rudely interrupted and told, "you're just looking money. I'm going to say a hard pass on your request," and hung up on me. Unprofessional and repugnant behavior. Do better BJ Tree Service and train people how to triage a call. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TREE SERVICE!!!!

Excellent service! We had 8 trees that we treasure and wanted to have trimmed and thinned out a…read morebit. The estimator came at the appointed time, walked the property with us and made note of what we wanted. The estimate was provided via text & email before he pulled out of our driveway. Accepting the estimate and paying the deposit couldn't have been easier. The 4 guys who came to do the work shortly thereafter walked the property with us and were careful to understand exactly what we wanted. They were knowledgeable and professional. Everything was done as we wanted, and they checked in with us during the process to make sure we were satisfied. They cleaned everything up well. Will definitely call BJ Tree Service in a few years to repeat this process.

But he told us that he wanted to cut a tree down for the power company. It didn't need to come down since it wasn't going to get any taller but we agreed anyway. We were reluctant because we didn't want to be left with a stump and the tree still produced pears. He said he would make sure it was level so we can mow over it so we agreed to it. We didn't want to be unreasonable or rude so we worked with him. As you can see that's not the case. I was left with a stump that I can't mow over. They also went onto my property a few weeks later without notifying me and started spraying and cutting my shrubs. All of which has been there for years. When we questioned them they said it was also for the power company. As you can see they killed everything. The sliced the bottoms of my shrubs and sprayed them. They wouldn't tell me if the spray is safe for kids or pets to be around so we immediately told them to leave. Unfortunately by this time the damage was done. Never would I call them to do any work for me nor would I recommend them.

They are in my neighborhood what seems to be daily. They were in my backyard a handful of times…read morethis summer. They're hired by Duquesne Light to cut down trees and branches around the utility wires. We got a door flyer early in the summer saying they would be doing work soon but the "soon" should definitely not be taken figuratively. They showed up weeks later in our backyard and just begin cutting. I wish there was some kind of better notice or heads up, but there isn't. So they ended up cutting down three very large trees and left the massive logs just sitting in high piles in our yard. Twice this happened in the summer and then late fall. There was no way we were able to do anything with these logs. They had to have weighed a ton and we didn't have any tools that would have handled cutting them. They needed to be cut with professional tools. So I called Duquesne light and talked with a customer service rep who said the manager of the tree division would call me back. Weeks went by and nothing happened. I called again and was told someone would call me back again. I wasn't holding my breath. Then a few days later a whole crew showed up at my door and told me they wouldn't take away the logs but could cut them for us to use for firewood. This was actually perfect because we do, in fact, have a log burning fireplace and we never ordered wood this year. They spent the whole morning basically halving them then came to the door and asked if that was okay. We were like... ummm no way those halves could be used for firewood. Not sure if they intended for us to get to work cutting them down more if what but they were still massive. We asked if they could cut more, because they were too large and the guy was like ooookay. I'm sure it's not how they intended to spend their whole day but I am SUPER SUPER SUPER appreciative and we ended up lucking out with so much new firewood. I'm not sure why this wasn't done in the first place when they initially cut down the logs, but I suppose someone just dropped the ball. FYI they will not do anything with trees that fall down from storms or natural causes, they did tell me that. But apparently from what happened it is their responsibility to cut it into useable firewood pieces. I'm not giving five star just because those logs sat there for months without any action or calls back. Plus, they threw some of the logs on one of my bushes and killed it :( But again, super thankful they rectified it!

I thought bc the tree was already down in my yard and easy to get to it would be cheaper. I can't comment on their work bc they are way to expensive.

We had an enormous 70-foot tree in our tiny city yard that was unhealthy and needed to be taken…read moredown. Carl's was easy to communicate with. They gave us a fair bid for the job and then completed it on schedule. They needed to go onto our neighbors' property to get the job done safely, and they did an excellent job communicating with the neighbors. They came back several weeks later to grind out the stumps. Another tree service said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our narrow driveway to the backyard. But Carl's had no problem, and they left the yard in great shape with the giant stumps all gone. They had to take down the fence and put it back up again, and they took care with that, leaving the fence in great shape.
