I give a -1!!! Going on two years and the only time they check the status is if I call or text…read more When the attorney handling my case retired I called to see who was taking over and I got was "uhhhh we don't know who is taking over his cases sorry" ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME? How is that professional? They knew he was retiring so someone with two brains cells to rub together would know that needs to addressed way before his final day. I did back when I was running a shop, it's not rocket surgery! So far I've had to sell everything that I worked for and all bills are WAY past due or defaulted and my utilities are either cut or about to be, do they care? Good lord no why would they? My home was on the verge of foreclosure so guess what? I had to sell it with no place to go. I'm about to be homeless do they care? Why would they? I can't afford my medications (which I severely need) or my therapy. Not sure why I hired an attorney if I knew it was going to be a waste of time and cause me more mental distress. Starting to think disability attorneys have a deal with the system. I have pointed out different emergency actions that can be a tried but nope "we don't want to push because you might get denied" so being homeless and broke means nothing to this firm! Having to "borrow" wifi just to use internet since they don't understand if my cell phone and internet is off how will they contact me?

Roger Driskill is AWESOME! I applied for OPM disability retirement due to ongoing health issues…read morerelated to cancer treatment. Mr. Driskill is one of the most genuine and kind people that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. While OPM makes the process very stressful and cumbersome, Mr. Driskill was there for me all the way. He was always compassionate, always patient with me, and ready to answer my numerous questions. If you are a Federal employee and need to file for OPM disability retirement, I highly recommend Roger Driskill. Thank you, Mr. Driskill and the entire team at Burnett/Driskill.

Denise is the absolute best. Spoke with 5 different attorneys in the KC metro, all of whom told me…read moreI was SOL. Met with Denise she had the conviction removed from my record within 2 weeks! If i were to recommend any attorney in the KC Metro it would be her!

I'm writing this post to briefly share my experience with Denise Kirby. While I ultimately did not…read moreretain her as my attorney, I had several meaningful conversations with her that left a lasting impression. From the start, Denise demonstrated genuine care for her clients. She was upfront, candid, and transparent in every conversation we had. It's clear that if you choose to work with her, she will commit fully to your case and do everything within her power to help you achieve a favorable outcome. And if, for any reason, she cannot take on your case, she will still keep your best interests in mind by referring you to another trusted professional. A few years ago, while searching for legal representation, I did extensive research--making phone calls, reviewing qualifications, and weighing my options carefully. After days of effort, I narrowed it down to two attorneys, and Denise was my top choice. She checked every box in terms of what I was looking for: experience, communication, and a clear ability to fight effectively on behalf of her clients. We had a detailed conversation about my case, and I told her directly that she was the attorney I wanted on my side. But in that same discussion, she did something unexpected--she recommended I go with the other attorney I had been considering. This wasn't because she doubted the strength of my case or lacked the desire to help. On the contrary, she was forthright about her current caseload and explained that, as a solo practitioner, she didn't want to compromise the level of attention my case deserved. That kind of self-awareness and honesty is rare, and I respected her even more for it. What struck me most was her integrity. Even though she didn't take my case, I knew she was exactly the kind of attorney I wanted: capable, honest, and committed to giving her clients the best possible representation--even if that means stepping back when necessary. Some time later, I reached out to Denise again to update her on my case and get her thoughts as I navigated ongoing legal matters. Just as before, she was open, honest, and insightful. Speaking with her always left me feeling heard, understood, and more confident in my next steps. Her communication style is grounded, respectful, and real. She may not always tell you what you want to hear--but she'll tell you what you need to know. And that kind of candor is invaluable. It's important for clients to understand that an attorney's job is to defend your interests to the best of their abilities--it's not to shoulder the burden of your situation. Some attorneys will care deeply; others may be more transactional. But in Denise's case, she clearly cares. She communicates with compassion, but also with clarity and conviction. In our most recent conversation, she offered thoughtful reassurance on the questions I had and provided insight that I truly appreciated. It affirmed everything I had felt during our earlier discussions. Bottom line: If you're fortunate enough to establish an attorney-client relationship with Denise Kirby, consider yourself in exceptionally capable hands. While I haven't seen her in the courtroom, I've spoken with her at length--and if your intuition is telling you she's the right attorney for you, trust it. Go with Denise.
