When I got pregnant, and could no longer keep up in the classes, they worked out with me individually, and worked around my schedule; and they did not charge me for classes while I was on maternity leave. They treated me like I was family, and not just a client. I have recently started taking Tae Kwon Do here as well, and I am loving it! The classes are physically challenging and mentally stimulating. Rockford Academy is a great place to work out both your body and your mind.

Joel Bowling is severely over weight and cannot even properly interact with the children he's trying to teach. Nor do I think being a severely overweight martial arts teacher teaches anything about self-discipline. I pulled my child from his classes only after a few lessons, and he's still trying to get me to pay for the full year contract. Save yourself and your child the abuse and take them to a REAL martial arts establishment.

Keys Martial Arts Academy exceeds all of our expectations!…read more Master Key teaches Taekwondo in a fun, "kid Friendly," atmosphere. This child centered training makes learning Taekwondo a great experience for children of all ages. Our son decided on his own to perform a Taekwondo routine for his school talent show. We asked Master Key to help us with the choreography. Not only did he agree to help but he offered to come and help with the actual performance! The Key's gave up their evening in order to help our son achieve his personal best. The two years of training under Master Key paid off. Not only did our son break all of his boards, but he won first place at the talent show! We will never forget that night. They counsel you on healthy eating and provide meal plans. They also have a deal with another local business, Food4Fuel, where you can get 10% off pre-prepared healthy meals. Tbh, I've not really stuck to their meal plans. I just do calorie counting on my own (I want this to be a long term solution to my weight problems, not something that will burn off 50 lbs. that I'll gain as soon as I have to move away from Rockford). The 2 best things here, though, are the group workouts and the community. I have made so many friends at MaxP that I would have never known otherwise. Oh, and I've lost 20 lbs. AND! I can feel abs for the first time in my entire life! It's expensive, but it is so, so worth it. The people are amazing, the workouts make you feel better than you ever have, and the accountability makes your goals actually achievable.

Adult class - there're many substituted instructors all the time, so dance and song changed week to…read moreweek (not bi-weekly as said). Instructor is not prepared for the lesson, just thinks what to dance in class. Whatever time says (30 minutes?), you need to warm up, stretching, and water break. So, it is not like going to the gym. The room is really narrow. Classmate changed weekly because no one stay. I was there about or over a year. Some weeks, there's no room to move. Instructor does not really care how you dance or suggest for better posts. You just have to catch up on your own. So, if you are looking for a workout option, it may be about almost 20 dance time. If you are looking for a dance skill improvement, nah. PDE kept my $20 and refused to give my money back. They stopped to reply to my text when I ask to get my over-paid money back. They said the money stays in the account. I went in one Friday. A lady at the table said, "I don't have cash." WHEN WE OPEN UP A BANK ACCOUNT, WE CLOSE THE ACCOUNT. WE GET OUR MONEY BACK. So this place is more special than a bank. They can keep my money and just refuse to give me back. What a developed country is this? I also told them that I wouldn't be able to take lessons anymore over 2 months ahead of time because I don't have time. That is a month more than what they want. (We need to tell them a month before quitting otherwise FEE FEE FEE FEE. What's a MONEY MONEY MONEY sucker.) Then later I remember I have paid more than I had to. I contacted them, and here I am. Nope, did not get it yet. I overpaid because they charge fee if we don't pay in time, so I paid more to prevent the stupid FEE. Now the greedy kept my hard-working money.
