Hubby is very particular about his hair cut, and he picked this place based on its prior reviews. Unfortunately we found it to be hugely sub-par. Our first visit we had an appointment and they ignored us for 20 minutes past our appointment time. We almost walked out when they finally called us. One of the barbers was loud and crass and was so obnoxious, we could hardly wait to get out of there. The haircut was somewhat decent however, and a good price. We decided to give them a second shot a few weeks later, and once again made an appointment with Ernest. This time, they went over 30 minutes past our appointment time before they even acknowledged us. Not only that, but he did such a poor job this time, my hubby was left with razor burns on most of his hair perimeter even days later. Location is convenient right off a main street, parking is plentiful and pricing is decent. That said, with the unprofessional lack of customer attentiveness, disregard for keeping appointments and shoddy shave work, we will definitely not be returning. read more

Honestly, I have lived in many places from Copley area in Boston, Tampa, Miami, travel a lot... and it sucks because I'm extremely particular about how I get my haircut. I like it faded on the sides, while leaving enough hair on top and sides to spike up. Most of the time you'll find either... An ol school barber thats masterful with scissors for the hair left on top... however, not really up to date on the skills to compete a true fade on sides. Or... You get a new school barber that can fade, cut designs & all the new styles... But once you say you want to leave hair on top for spiking up or styling... That's when you'll see the amateur in them (to be fair since most younger kids now just get the top buzzed as well. For years I heard about many of my cousins & friends all talking about a kid named Junior... and when I finally made an appt to get a haircut w him... I literally have been cutting my hair there every single week since. For the first time I have a standing appt every week. If you're looking for a down to earth, super skilled barber that can cut hair w scissors, give the sickest fades, not to mention draw designs into your hair that takes his skills into a level of their own. The atmosphere is spacious, friendly, professional and all barbers have amazing skills and class. If your new to town and looking for a barber that you'll feel like you've know for years and that will always take his time and never rush, even if he's running behind. Then JR's is the place you want to go. P.S. As with any barber, if you bring a pic of what you want that you grab off Instagram or google... That'll help them. But I know I've always gotten my haircut with Junior... But at same time, I have friends that started with different barber in the shop... and they swear by them as well. Honestly, I seen that someone left a bad review... Obviously I don't know this for sure... But there's a lot of competition in area so my assumption is that's someone doing a favor for a competitor. Like I said, no one is as particular about the atmosphere I'm in, the way my hair is cut that both has a sharp fade while being able to be styled. I've been going here for years... And Juniors is always my first stop when I move back when I spend a few months traveling. I know I'm doing a lot of bragging for these guys... But only because they're so humble yet crazy skilled and deserve. I've been all over the Eastbay for haircuts and JR's is the only consistent barber shop around. I get a fade and Ernest is my go-to, I'm always satisfied when I leave. My only complaint is that the wait times for walk-in's are long. - Call ahead and make an appointment. Wait time is mitigated by quality of service, which is why JR's gets a 5 star from me. read more

Great place filled with talented individuals. I drive 40 min to come here when I live around the corner from a reputable stylist. The cuts are quick and to the point getting you back to your busy schedule in no time. Walkin's are taken, but appointments are necessary to avoid the minimal wait. Bristol RI is not the trendiest of places. So to get a nice fade you would think you would have to drive a little ways. Well dont fret in Bristol we have JR's barbershop. I have had both Ernest and JR cut my hair and they both do an amazing job. Ty guys I though when i moved to this town I was going to have to travel far to get a good temp. Last Wednesday I called for am appointment and was told my regular Barber was no longer there so I booked with another barber. When I arrived my regular Barber was there cutting someone's hair and the girl that cut my hair didn't say anything about lying to me about my regular Barber no longer being at that shop. It felt a little uncomfortable carrying on a conversation with my Barber from someone else's chair. When I go into a Barber Shop I would like to feel comfortable having Barber Shop talk, but not to sound sexist but a female working there changes the vibe. She seemed nice enough. I've tried a few barbershops in the Bristol RI area, including Corner Stone barber shop.... I have too say JR'S is the BEST. I had Ernest, he took about 50 min too cut my hair.... he did an outstanding job. He took his time and made sure that not only was i satisfied with the haircut but himself as well. I am extremely picky when it comes too my haircut and he hit the head on the nail. JR'S should be your number one choice if your looking to get a high quality haircut, and for 15 bucks you cant beat it. Popped in at noon with no appointment and was seen by Troy within 5 minutes. Only really went in because they are down the street from where I work and it was convenient but now I'll go back every time I need a cut.
