They're conveniently located near the intersection of Academy and Woodmen. Yoga on top and the salon on the bottom. You can access the salon either through the front door and walk down the stairs, or you can park around back and use the door located in the center of the building (as opposed to the back door on the southwest corner of the building). She's friends with the yoga studio owners, and they decided to partner together to offer us clients a one-stop-zen-shop, so to speak. | SERVICE | WAXING -- I can't say enough awesome things about Kasey. She's so easy to talk to and has a great spirit. I've only been to her for Brazilians, but I wouldn't go anywhere else. She makes me feel really comfortable during a process that -- let's be real -- involves bearing it all and being in awkward positions. But somehow Kasey just makes it all seem like a walk in the park. From my prior review: "She is really friendly and makes you feel really comfortable during the process. Talking with her made the process much more bearable. For part of it, she does force you to be quiet, stop talking and relax, which as someone who is always go-go-go I appreciate that. In addition to waxing, she offers many other services from hair to microdermabrasion. I have read nothing but positive reviews about her work. There are a few 5-star reviews on the Luminous Lox site naming her for hair and extensions. She actually used to be an instructor for extensions, too. | PRICING | She is definitely competitively priced and always delivers great work. From my prior review (in regard to waxing): "Her normal pricing is the same as the European waxing place only they take 10 minutes to do a full Brazilian. Kasey will make sure you still have all your skin left and take the time to make sure the process is as painless as possible. I went to her on a GREAT priced Groupon and am so glad I took the chance." Since then, I keep coming back routinely for regular priced waxes. | ATMOSPHERE | I LOVE what she's doing with The Salon Retreat. She's putting so much love and care into making the space inviting and relaxing. She really puts a lot of thought into her decor and lighting -- everything from where she places her lights and what kind of light they give off to splurging on the most amazing aqua fuzzy blanket. When you walk into the waiting area, there's a seating area and a drink station set up for customers. She's also the only person in the space and can close the door to her room, which not only provides additional privacy, but I appreciate how relaxed it is compared to the usual salon vibe.
