They needed to see what they were dealing with so they scheduled an appointment for a free no pressure quote. They came and were very friendly even when they called to say they were running a lil bit behind. The quote came in 2nd in price and I asked if they could match the quote, which they did. Wonderful responsive business with local owners. They are honest, they communicate and they arrive on-time as requested by me. Made my estimate/pick-up request completely online using the Junk King Website. By using this online reservation system, I saved $20.00 from the free estimate provided to me by the driver. Their truck is very large and you can pay by how much space your load takes up in the bed of the truck. Driver carries a published chart of pickup fees based on how much space in the truck your load will occupy. Prior to loading anything, the driver and you will agree on a fixed price. Many of my items picked up today were recycled by Junk King-Gold Country, if they are reusable or can be restored. They donate restorable items locally to Nevada County's Habitat for Humanity's "Restore" Facility to help others locally. Prior to arrival on the day I made their Website Reservation, I was able to select my two-hour window pickup time and then later received a written email confirmation of my appointment. Giving Back to our Nevada County Community: When the Junk King Gold Country Team arrived onsite, I noticed their T-Shirts had a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Support Message printed on the front and back of their T-shirts. The Driver confirmed that on my pickup day, Junk King Gold Country was contributing money from business proceeds from today's pickups to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I sent a text to Junk King Gold Country and had a response from Christina in minutes. I let them know my availability and they made it work. We had things scheduled that quickly! Connor called and let me know they were on the way. They arrived, gave a fair quote, and then loaded everything from a broken washing machine, 3 other large appliances, and a bunch of oak tree limbs RIGHT THEN! They also cleaned up debris after too. June 2018 Junk King from Grass Valley came and removed two full truck load of junk from our A frame house fast and efficient. When a piece of furniture was too big they took it apart and got it down the narrow stairwell without damaging any wall. I can't remember their names but it was a married couple and another. If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely the worst company and franchise owner we have ever encountered. We hired them to come out and get a pile of brush, leaves, and building debri that was on our property when we bought it, they got the brush and then flaked on the rest of our appointment. The workers, Santiago and Max, did nothing but complain the whole time. Santiago called my husband and stated they would come back and get the rest of the pile. They came out a week later, spread the remaining pile all over our yard and left. We contacted corporate and the franchise multiple times to get this worked out. It took another month for them to come out. We have children and animals so we raked what they had spread around back up so no one would step on nails or spread it more. During that time the piles have been exposed to the elements, such as the rain throughout the past few weeks and started to break down. Today they came out and were here less than 15 minutes. They picked up a few pieces of the debri pile and then refused to finish. The same employees that came the first time, cussed out my husband and said he added stuff to the pile, which is false, we even showed them pictures, it was the same exact pile they had spread around the last visit, it's just breaking up now because they never came back and the pile got weathered. They continued to argue and scream at my husband and then left. The franchise owner, John, then called my husband and was the biggest asshole I've heard in my life. This company doesn't give a crap about its customers. They take your money up front, do a shitty job, leave it unfinished, and then refuse to back. Do not ever use this company. The employees are horrible workers and the franchise owner is a nightmare. read more
