Very nice, called before and arrived on time. 3 stars because I only have a small amount of junk. About 1 full standard size dumpster worth of junk. Maybe 1 and a 1/2. (from a garage clean out.) He quoted me $208. If you need a lot of junk removed, the prices are reasonable, but if you have a smaller size load that you need help with, it may be cheaper to just rent a uhaul yourself and take a trip to the dump. read more

At first I thought the estimate was too expensive. However after contacting all the other businesses at yelp I found their rates were competitive. The other problem is that I had to baby sit all the haulers and most of them would not keep their appointments. There must be so much work out there that all these people are very flaky. I called and was very pleased that I could get them out the same day and they actually showed up on time. But my over the phone estimate that I was told could possibly be lower turned out to be underestimated. Instead of a $200-$300 cost it turned out to be $500. I was very explicit about what needed to be picked up so was disappointed at that big a difference. I had to cancel because I could not afford that cost. I just had a hot tub removed that had been sitting for many years. It came with the purchase of the home. I called Junk King and they came out right away to provide me with an estimate. I had compared the quote with other businesses and found them to be very reasonable. They were good about the time and keeping the appointment on schedule. They called me in advance of arriving which really helps when you have kids. They removed it quickly and cleaned up the work area as well. They were very professional at all times. When I called to schedule them, I was told they would be out between 10 and 12. Paul called at 10 on the dot . Chris, Paul and Sean came out to pick up a LOT of junk and they were able to fit it all in one load. The old refrigerator, some trash and a huge pile of yard waste. They work like a well oiled machine, in sync and getting everything out in an efficient manner. They are polite, friendly, professional and the price was reasonable. I received prompt service and very polite personnel arrived. they removed my refrigerator and gave me an estimate for the remaining junk. the estimate was grossly exaggerated. i went to thumbtack and found a local person to haul away my garbage for a 5th of the cost instead of $500 i paid $95. it makes me think that i probably was overcharged for the refrigerator. i will also add that i was supposed to have had a $30 credit for signing up online, it seems that it might not have been factored in the price. when i called junk king to ask for a receipt, i was put in contact with a call center that said the matter would be reverted back to monterey office so far they have not contacted me. i will probably not use junk king again and i highly recommend a second opinion on removal quote. read more
