I found out about these guys from a good friend of mine. I've used them on my own house and recently used them again for my mom's place. I didn't review them before because they came and did their great job when I wasn't around. But this time I was there to see them work. One of the many reasons I like these guys is because they are so accommodating. Originally I was just going to get a dumpster like I did for my construction jobs. But my usual supplier isn't authorized to work in my mom's town. So I would have had to use the town's disposal contractor, but they didn't want to work on Saturday. So I just called Junk Remedy. (It should have been my first call.) With only half of a day notice, they got me on their schedule, brought out the right size truck AND loaded everything for me. After they finished they broom swept the place clean. The guys never complained, were very ready to do extra pieces that they weren't aware of from the original order, and when I had an old TV that needed to be trashed, they didn't hesitate to get on the phone, find out about the technology surcharge needed, quote me on the spot for that piece, and it was on the truck minutes later. He explained exactly how they work, including pricing (based on load size), and then scheduled a crew for 11 a.m. the next morning. Derrick and Zach phoned me 20 minutes before the appointment time to let me know they might be slightly late. They were... 2 whole minutes! But I appreciated the call anyway. :) They looked at the scope of the job, gave me an estimate of how much space in the truck it would take/price, and then got right to work. They were done in 30 minutes, including the very nice touch of sweeping the areas they had cleared. And they were dead on with the estimate. Used these guys today (12-6-19) for a job in Wauconda, IL. First called them at 9:06am and job was totally finished by 11:02am. I got a little lucky since they already had crews out my way, but nonetheless, the timeliness was great! Paid $242 for the whole job which included removal of a lot of random household items and trash, and they even cleaned up the leaves covering it all (it was in an alley). My mom is finally moving out of the condo in which she's lived for the past forty - no exaggeration - years, but before we could get the place on the market, we had to get it spruced up. And by spruced up, I mean remove 40 years of evidence someone has lived there. My mom is by no means a hoarder, but no matter what you do, stuff accumulates in that amount of time. My husband and I initially tried to de-junk-ify it ourselves, but it was just to much and would have taken far too long. So, we sought out professionals. I called and emailed and yelp quote requested a zillion companies, many of which ignored me, were incredibly rude, or prohibitively expensive ($2500 to remove junk from a 1300 sq ft condo? Uh.) I was about ready to just go with one of the rude-but-reasonable-companies and just watch them like a hawk around my mother, when a friend posted on Facebook about Junk Remedy. I emailed and got a response within minutes. I texted at length with Corey, one of the owners, and felt comfortable enough to let him call my mom and work through her directly. He came and surveyed the space, gave us a reasonable quote, and we booked them for the next week. When the day came, I was seriously in awe of how they operate. Six super young, really strong guys showed up to start moving EVERYTHING out. They were polite, courteous, even double checked a couple of things before they got rid of them for good. They were kind to my mother, and they worked SO FAST. Three hours later, everything - including a mattress, four desks, two old computers, a china cabinet - everything was gone. Not a single thing broke, they were totally respectful of my mother's condo and the building it's in - I couldn't believe it. Oh yeah, and they came in UNDER their quoted price! We had Salvation Army cancel on us & another charity would not take our items unless we brought them down to the garage level. My dad is HANDICAPPED! We told this to all concerned & eventually had to call these guys to help. People who can't walk, can't bring furniture to the curb so these other bozos can pick it up! Outrageous. Junk Remedy was polite, did not cause any damage (strong too) & took all the stuff away for what I thought was a reasonable price. We gave them an electric organ because no one would take it & you now have to bring stuff like this to a recycle center. How can a handicapped person do this? They can't. Guys from Junk Remedy picked up a couch and a huge (projection) TV from my house today. They were fast, polite, and removed the items without doing any damage to the walls - which wasn't an easy task since the TV weighed several hundred pounds and was on the 2nd floor. The price was very reasonable and I was surprised when one of the guys came back into the house to sweep up the dirt that had accumulated under the couch. I told him he didn't have to do that; he said it was his "pleasure". Can't say enough good things about the service I received.
