They recently became Morningside Medical and moved to a new location (1845 7th Avenue). The new office is small and I went twice this week and the office looked to be in serious need of cleaning. Dirty floors, space is super cramped now and receptionists have awful attitudes. On top of that they are understaffed. I tried to follow up after my visit with my doctor on Tuesday, but instead had to come in today (Thursday) so that I could get attended / a reply to my questions. I liked Dr.Hinson and Dr. Fraser but I will be looking for new doctors in nicer locations. I understand not everybody has this privilege but for those who do I'd recommend going elsewhere. I've seen the amount my insurance gets billed (a pretty penny) and it doesn't make sense for all the money that I'm assuming gets raked in, for this business to be in such a small, dirty, understaffed place. I unfortunately did not get a chance to snap pictures but if you don't believe me go check for yourself and if it's been resolved by the time you get there then I guess that's a good thing. Juno Medical/Morningside Medical is a very poorly run office and I would recommend avoiding them if you can. Everything everyone says is true. While I have no problems with Dr. Hinson's care necessarily, the office itself is the worst medical office I've ever interacted with. They literally never answer the phone. Sometimes they will text your or email you but that is rare and you pretty much have to leave angry voicemails or texts to get any sort of response. Though it is nearly impossible to communicate with THEM, they will charge YOU if you have to cancel or re-schedule, even if you've tried to contact them repeatedly. They will also change your appointment time last minute. I'm not sure what the deal is here but it feels like some corporate scheme masquerading as medical care. A glorified ZoomCare, but at least ZoomCare communicates with their patients and helps you. This office is unprofessional and managed worse than the worst McDonalds. I was lured by the convenient location but will be seeking care elsewhere moving forward. read more

Called to get my prescription refilled (it's for pain management for RA) and my Dr. Hinson was out of town again which is not a big deal I'm consistently running out of my medication BEFORE my follow-up visit so now I have to call to get a script filled. When I more recently called, the receptionist was extremely rude and wondered why I was calling. This is a medication that I have to take weekly to keep my arthritis symptoms calm. Write an adequate amount of scripts so I don't have to keep calling! And get KINDER staff, why does the receptionist have an attitude after I asked her one question? read more

I want to love Juno. It's in my neighborhood. Dr. Mendoza is wonderful. Dr. Kim was outstanding for my kids but he's recently left. The new pediatrician was equally skilled. However, the thing that is making me switch practices is their inability to offer outstanding administrative services. It has become impossible to get through on the phone, they are driving all communication through email. When I visited the office the reception desk informed me responses to emails typically take 72 hours. They also don't offer same day service so if you get sick you on Saturday you won't be seen by a doctor anytime soon. I'm disappointed to leave this practice because I want quality service in Harlem, but sadly this isn't it. ***just checked my emails and noticed the email I sent using the address from the link they provided was returned to me as undeliverable. read more

My experience with Elizabeth Rodriguez was awful. She was rude from the start, speaking in a nasty, dismissive tone and showing zero patience or professionalism. Instead of helping, she made the interaction uncomfortable and unpleasant. People who work with the public should be approachable, respectful, and willing to assist she was the complete opposite. I've been going to the Harlem location a while and the service here has declined greatly. You can't get anyone on the phone. Emails bounce back. You can't communicate with office staff or doctors through the online portal anymore. I waited three weeks for an appointment and the day of the appointment they call and tell me they need to order my birth control and it would be another couple of weeks! Such a waste of time, lack of professionalism and care and I am moving my care to another provider. I asked for them to send my medical records, they never sent them. Tried calling the office and couldn't get through. Black women deserve better care than this. The Drs. are great -- but what good is that if you can't be seen or get in touch with anyone? read more

This place sounds good in theory-in my neighborhood, doctor profiles to pick from, clean, can book appointments online, variety of services that can make it a one stop medical facility. My experience first appointment with the primary care doctor was average or below average. I had a follow up online appointment and she didn't show. I gave 15 minutes of grace time. After that I called the reception. The doctor got back to me and blamed it on the internet. She didn't have to lie. I could tell she completely forgot. My BIG issue here and what I am STILL going though, a YEAR later, is BILLING. The NPI (medical code) for my routine blood test was under the doctor's personal one which was registered in Georgia, for some reason. The medical office's NY one was not used-which my insurance would completely cover. I have called/emailed and my insurance has also called multiple times and their reception/billing department that is off site has not responded back. It has been a YEAR. My insurance has delayed the bill going into collections as much as possible but now I have a collections letter from their Quest lab. This will possibly affect my credit score because their error, unprofessionalism and inability to respond back. I have raving reviews for Dr. Hinson. However, I cannot say the same about the establishment. The staff needs to be more professional, and I have had an unpleasant experience with Dr. Hinson's assistant, Jasmin. She seems to be unhappy working at Juno Medical in Harlem. The last few times I was there, she took my vitals, and I could tell she was careless; when I reviewed my vitals on Juno Medical patient's portal, she said I was 123 lbs when I weighed 102 lbs. She also didn't include what I had told her that I was taking Famotidine and Protonix despite me telling her, and documenting it would have been important. She's also unfriendly. Another matter is the billing department. They could be more professional and responsive. Whenever I go to Juno Medical, they charge my co-pay even though I have explained that my deductible has been met, so my co-pay is waived. Juno Medical only lets you see the doctor once you pay your copay. My health insurance representative and I have called the billing department a couple of times and explained my co-pay is waived, and as a result, I got a refund. However, it is a hassle to have to go through that process. I emailed them in May about this matter and have not heard from them. When I went to see Dr. Hinson last week, I got charged for my co-pay, even though I explained the situation to the receptionist, who said she emailed the billing department about it. I have yet to hear from the billing department. Unfortunately, going through this unpleasant experience to see a fantastic doctor is not worth it. I would rather experience the loss of seeing a great physician than deal with the incompetent staff at Juno Medical in Harlem. At the end of the day, Juno Medical is a business, and its focus is not patient care. read more

They failed to proactively notify us that our child's primary care provider was leaving the practice, which we discovered when we booked an appointment recently when he was very sick and they canceled it on us while we were en route to the appointment. They say they are a "tech powered" practice, but why is the provider still in the system? And why were no other alternative options provided? They should do better and the lack of quality service & support, and closing of the BK office was it for me. We'll find another physician elsewhere. read more

It's taken over 3 weeks for me to get a referral from one of the doctors here to get coverage for a dermatologist appointment that I've ALREADY been to and that doctor's office, unfortunately, told me after the fact that I needed a referral from my primary care doctor (who is at Juno). As of today, I still haven't received it. I messaged them, yet again on the portal, and was told I'll have to schedule. It makes NO sense that they're not using a live chat interface if they are going to refuse to offer a calling/phone service to talk to a human. The messaging in the portal takes ages. Weeks, as evidenced by my experience. Anywho, someone (they never indicate who is replying to your messages) replied to the message I sent earlier today and told me that the doctor wants to see me for an appointment for the referral. What?? So that I can pay another pointless copay? Absolutely not. Also, my last visit here was so frustrating. The doctor didn't seem sure about the solutions she was offering. She asked me which option I'd like to try out. Like, huh?! You are the expert! That's why I'm here. I'm working on transitioning my care away from Juno. Super disappointing, as I was excited to finally have physicians that look like me. read more

If you enjoy being healthy don't come here. I'm glad to be out of this abusive relationship. Dr hinson doesn't give a damn about her patients and she loves throwing her very limited and unprofessional staff under the bus instead of taking accountability for how bad this place has been for a while now. Need your medicine you might have to wait 2 months or longer. During that time your suffering..praying that these flare ups don't become permanent..You have to call the insurance company..you have to call the specialty pharmacy. They don't hire enough staff because the patient is the staff. Prior authorizations,refills. It is on you to figure it out. I lost a lot of time I can never get back.They don't answer the phone .. from patients or insurance companies etc. I literally had to make an appointment just to get someone on the line in July of 2025. Doc hinson refused to talk to me cause she wasn't getting paid of course.. You get billed for stuff that they cant even explain.. Dr. Fraiser is the best gynecologist ever... and it's not even close! I literally haven't stopped singing her praises ever since I found her many years ago - and I even followed her to Juno! Would not want to go to anyone else! Every year when I go see her for my annual I tell her thank God she is still in the city because I don't know what I would do without her! It's so hard to find a good OB/GYN that makes you feel comfortable and she's the best of the best. read more

I love my doctor here, but the staff is pretty awful. (Seems like other reviews echo my experience.) I got to an appointment 8 minutes part my appointment time because my subway got held (joys of nyc life.) Their policy is a 5-minute grace period only. I understand that such policies are important for clinic flow, but there was literally not another patient in the waiting room, and there were 6 staff members huddled at the computers chatting or on their phones. The one at the computer basically told me I couldnt be seen because I was more than 5 minutes late. Again, I understand the policy if it would be applied bidirectionally. But I have definitely been made to wait 10-20 minutes before being seen. To have no leeway whatsoever is pretty galling. I will definitely be firing this clinic and going elsewhere. I will miss my doctor, but will not miss the staff. Good luck staying in business. read more

I went to Juno Medical at the Brooklyn location and the visit itself was standard/they were able to see me quickly for my health issue. However, I've had pretty crappy service after I left. I emailed "support@juno.care" as instructed on the website to inquire about my bill, then "hello@juno.care" replies telling me to email "support@juno.care" which I already did?? Could have been an honest mistake I guess but if they make it near impossible to talk to someone live on the phone, the least they could do is answer emails correctly. I was also promised lab results on the portal but it's been over a month and nothing has been uploaded there/gotten any sort of communication about the results. read more

Tacky, dishonest, and careless. You can find better medical care. They will tell you that procedures are covered by insurance to get you to do testing. They'll tell you to ask for a letter to get your bills covered (that you will only find out about later). Then, even later, they will refuse to write you a letter. They are not much different than most medical businesses in that way. They will charge you without your knowledge. But, they pretend as if they are better. They are not. read more

I like Juno because its easy to make appointments online and over the phone, their offices are nice, wait times are short, and they have a variety of services available. However, the main reason I like Juno is Dr. Mendoza. Dr. Mendoza is one of the best doctors I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable, always listens to me and takes me seriously, and works with me to find the best solution to my issues. I leave every appointment feeling listened to, validated, and hopeful. He takes the time to explain how each medication works, lets me know about possible side effects, and checks if it interacts with my other medication. I highly recommend him for anyone with chronic medical conditions who is used to having to fight to be taken seriously- Dr. Mendoza is like a breath of fresh air. read more

I have been a patient with the Harlem office for about three months now. Firstly, I give five stars to Dr. Fraser their GYN. She is an excellent practitioner! However, the operational area leaves a lot to be desired. It was extremely trying to get my initial appointment with her and even my insurance company wanted to Lodge a complaint about difficulty confirming my coverage with them - basically either no responsive or gave obvious misinformation - continuously. Finally, even getting over that hurdle and post appointment follow ups, it is again difficult to get messages to Dr. Fraser, even via their own patient portal. Finally, I had also chosen the office as my primary care, but the doctors there seemed booked months in advance with only a single day of availability 2 months out. I really wanted a POC operation to succeed, but this is defeating. read more

I wanted to love this office because it felt so homey and welcoming. I went for an OBGYN appointment 2 weeks ago due to a scary experience. The office visit was great and very comfortable I was told everything looked normal & that I would receive official test results from the lab in the portal in a couple of days. My biggest issue was the follow up. - I went to the pharmacy to pick up birth control 3 days after my appointment and they didn't have it. I emailed the doctor about it never received a response. - I called two weeks later to ask about my test results l. Apparently I was supposed to be booked for a follow up based on my results but wasn't. Imagine hearing that news over the phone after a scary experience. Oh it gets better. - I asked the receptionist if she could could give me my test results or send them through to the portal to give me some sort of peace given that there seems to be zero urgency. She said I would have to wait TWO WEEKS for the doctor to be back. IVE ALREADY WAITED FOR 2 WEEKS without any answers. The receptionist did nothing to get a nurse another doctor SOMEBODY. She just blamed the receptionist that supposedly was meant to schedule my follow up. Imagine if I hadn't called? If I had trusted the "no call means good news" rule. And now I'm just waiting to see if someone on their team will call me back. Not holding my breath. read more

It's been a while since I've written a review, but during a time when I feel people are still apprehensive to seek medical care in the midst of a pandemic, I definitely encourage you all to get the check-ups you need if it is safe enough for you to do so! As I am immunocompromised, I'm grateful that my PCP is within walking distance of my current apartment - I try to avoid public transit as much as possible until I'm fully vaxxed! - but I was in the market for a new gynecologist within walking distance. I did my research, and Dr. Fraser had glowing reviews. I felt right in making my appointment with her. Thankful that - at least on Tuesdays - Juno Medical has longer hours, because I booked a 6:30 p.m. appointment. Even working from home, it's not always easy to squeeze in a midday medical appointment. Since I checked in online and set up my OnPatient portal pre-appointment the previous day, I just gave my name to the woman at the front desk then waited. The NP that took my vitals was kind and thorough; when the blood pressure machine was acting up, she whipped out the manual blood pressure cuff and stethoscope, saying she prefers the ol' fashioned way anyways. (Love it!) Dr. Fraser was lovely, very personable. (And when you have a doctor looking at you THAT intimately...being comfortable with them immediately is a huge plus. Of course!) She asked questions and allowed me to speak freely and ask my own. The exam itself lasted about 5 minutes but was thorough. (I don't need to go into the details, ha!) On my way out the door, a referral I had asked for was already forward to my OnPatient account, I confirmed that I didn't need to do a copay for that visit, and I was on my way! From an infection control perspective - y'all that know me know my day job! - I was pleased to see ample hand sanitizer dispensers throughout, and all clinical staff I interacted with performed proper hand hygiene. All common surfaces and exam areas were cleaned and sterile. I felt very comfortable with their facilities! I'm glad I've found a gynecologist that I look forward to going back to in the future, and am happy with Juno Medical overall. Highly recommend, especially to those of you looking for a PCP or gyno that are close-by if you live in Harlem or the UWS! read more

Yes, having Black female doctors is great, but if the customer service and follow-up is bad, what is the point? After a trip to the emergency room with excruciating pain, I was sent home and told to follow up with a PCP. I established care with Dr. Hinson and explained all my symptoms and issues in great detail. It has been a month since my first (of several ER/Dr's appts) and I am no closer to finding resolve to my issues. More importantly, I was ordered some tests and scans and though it has been over a week since the test were done and a month since I initially began this process, I still have no clear answers as to what is causing my pain or how to move forward. Finally, the receptionist. More often than not when I call, I am told to make an appointment. Each visit is $45 co-pay and I get billed for more money (the last bill was $80) on the backend. To expect that I'll continue to take time out of my day and drop $100+ to get answers to issues that a simple phone call could resolve is unreasonable. While most of the reviews are on here are great, the ones that are here and elsewhere that are not good, are all poorly rated for the same reasons. The follow-up is terrible and the attention to acute pain/concerns is frustratingly slow. read more

I should have known what I was in for when I spent 10 minutes explaining to the front desk person that I had not just undergone a well woman exam, but rather a standard physical, and she couldn't seem to grasp it no matter how many different times or ways I said it. I came in for a standard annual check up, excited at the prospect of having culturally competent doctors and care providers of color. The appointment itself was fine, just your standard physical. It's been over a month and no one has bothered to follow up with me on my results. I've tried calling five days in a row, but their phone takes you to an answering service that either rings until you realize how futile it is to try to get someone on the line; or just hangs up on you. Great! So I decide to try email. The email address on their website bounces back as undeliverable three different times. This place is an administrative mess and I truly hope no one in need of urgent or critical care ever makes an appointment. For all I know my blood results returned something I should know about or need to act on, but I wouldn't know because they seem to only be worried about billing your insurance for services, not actually following up on your care needs after appointmnets. Go elsewhere. Tia Clinic in NYC is a great option if you're looking for woman-centered, competent, and *responsive* care. read more

This review is strictly for GYN - Dr. Fraser and her medical staff. I cannot speak for any of the other clinicians at this establishment. I have been a patient of Dr. Fraser for 5+ years. I first saw her at her original office, prior to relocating to this beautiful modern office space. I recently underwent a LEEP procedure, performed by Dr. Fraser. I was optimistic, but also felt nervous. This was my first time going through this and truly didn't know what to expect. Dr. Fraser took her time to explain everything and answered all my questions. On the day of the procedure, she showed me all the tools that would be used and did all she could to ensure I felt comfortable. During the appt, she had two MAs assist her with passing her the necessary tools. The MAs were very patient and kind. One of them rubbed my arm and assured me all will be okay. I truly appreciate this type of care, specially during a moment when as a patient you can feel so vulnerable. Dr. Fraser herself was gentle and explained everything she was doing in real time to put me at ease. I recommend Dr. Fraser and this facility to anyone for their GYN needs. We need more professionals and medical staff like this in the healthcare field. I feel lucky to have found Juno! read more

This was the loveliest experience I have ever had in a doctor's office, hands down. From the overall aesthetic, to the reggae music (because it was "reggae Thursday," I was told), to the quick service, to my incredible assistant and NP (Juliette Blount), I was truly blown away. I always avoid my annual physical (shame on me, I know) and these women made it genuinely pleasant, if you can believe that. My practitioner asked me, "What are your health goals in the coming year?" I was genuinely so floored by a doc asking such a question I didn't know how to answer. It was so much more of a pleasant and holistic experience than I have previously had in super clinical, sterile doctor's office settings. I am giving one star only because I cannot give less. My doctor scheduled a visit after mismanaging my care and not following up. The day was busy for me, but given the urgency and their inflexibility in scheduling, I accepted the appointment and I rescheduled most of my day. I arrived at the office 9 min past my app. time. The staff watched me come in and informed me that the doctor can no longer see me because I am 10 min late. When I explained the details to the care coordinator, she went back and spoke to the doctor who said I can "hang out" and she will try to see me at some point. As if patients have nothing to do but be patients? This is the same week where the practice accidentally double charged me for the same service to top things off. This is a practice that claims to be here to care for the community because they live and look like the community. It makes the unprofessional inadequate care shameful and disappointing. read more

I had a REALLY great experience at this practice. Dr. Alvarez was amazing - she had such a clear communication style and was very thorough in my annual physical. I often feel that a doctor rushes through the appointment to get to the next patient, but she sat with me for over 20 minutes and explained everything she was doing and why it was important. She really addressed all my concerns from top to bottom. I often dread going to a new doctor and discussing health issues with them, especially weight, but she really listened to what I had to say about my issues and addressed all of them with patience and kindness. I left feeling like she valued the time we spent together, and I really appreciated her genuine nature! The office itself was beautiful, clean, and not too crowded. Definitely more of a modern doctor's office: self check in, no receptionist phone calls, but if you are comfortable with that it is a great office. I waited about 15 minutes to be called in for my appointment, but I guess that is the nature of a doctor's office. I will absolutely return here for care!! read more

I finally have a doctor I feel I can stick with! Dr. Hinson is amazing. She made my visit so pleasant because of how knowledgeable and thorough she was. I've never had an annual where I felt "checked out" and as a woman of color this is a game changer for me. World Class treatment!! I saw Dr. Agarwal for a physical in December, but I'm not sure she's licensed to practice in New York. During my last visit, we talked about the tests she would order on my lab samples but when I got the results back I noticed those tests had never been ordered. I had to call back and ask where those results were to learn that I actually would need to come into the office a second time to have my labs done because she forgot to order the correct tests. When I explained how distressing this was for me, I was told that she "is human" - as though I am not. Since then I've received a sizable bill from the lab processor for those tests (typically part of my routine physical). The Juno office sent my labs to be processed with the insurer separately. When I got the bill the lab explained to me that they had to bill my insurance to the state in which the doctor is licensed (Georgia) not the one in which I actually have health insurance. It's been three months of back and forth now and the issue remains unresolved. I wanted to like this office because it features women of color as doctors, but the organizational inefficiency described in other reviews and that I've experienced myself makes the whole experience not worth it. They're actually worsening the reputation of female doctors of color by running their office so badly, it's sad. I also have never seen more than one other patient in their office when I've visited so maybe I'm just slow to the realization that they're a sham. Either way I'd agree with the other reviews - avoid this place. read more
