At first, we thought it was just where we were sitting, so we moved to another area, but the fruit flies were still everywhere. I mentioned it to our waitress, and she said it's something they always have, which was disappointing to hear. This was my second visit, and I don't remember noticing it the first time. Maybe it wasn't as noticeable because there were more people smoking. This time, though, it was impossible to ignore and made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. The lounge has a great atmosphere and is a really nice place to hang out. I hope they take care of the fruit fly issue because I'd like to come back.

Of course we were the only women in there but were treated very respectfully and graciously by Stephan, one of the owners. He is so sweet!! (And his French accent made him even more charming ;-) He has a wonderful selection of cigars, lots of brands, and different strengths of cigars. He made great recommendations and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. Had we not been traveling by plane he was going to gift us some cigar matches. The lounge is very dapper and I love the walk to get there, so tropical! I ended up getting a My Father Grand Robusto, and a Padron Anniversary Series. If I lived in Florida, I would make the trek to stop by here and enjoy a great cigar, in a classy environment.

The design of the lounge has some nice dark-colored flourishes with three areas for lounge seating with brown leather lounge chairs, three larger black leather chairs by the front entrance, a bar area, and an outdoor patio area with fake grass if you want to enjoy smokes outside at night, a front patio area with torches to enjoy smokes as people drive into the plaza to go to Bimini or the French cafe next door called Merci, and the walk-in humidor that has glass doors. They have a nice array of smoke selections by various producers and brands that you can enjoy at any of the aforementioned areas and watch whatever you want from one of the flat screens. Whoever is behind the bar is always friendly and available to help with a selection. They offer beer, wine, and other select canned cocktails for purchase. They are an absolute gem of a place that is easy to reach on Okeechobee Boulevard in the eastbound direction.

Funny story...My buddy came to visit Delray Beach as we walked along the downtown area I pointed at…read morea storefront business that said Best Coffee in Delray affixed the the glass window in bold white letters. I thought that this was the name of the place. At the time, the front glass door was fully ajar and did not notice the name Bartolo's Cafe affixed in small white print. So of course we went inside to investigate and met the friendly chatty barista Maria from Serbia. We browsed the connected cigar room which was filled with various loose Nicaraguan cigars and gift sets. Cigars for purchase only, no smoking inside. The café consisted of a coffee bar with assorted wine bottles and modern decor. Maria explained that the name of the business is Bartolo's Cafe but does have "The Best Coffee in Delray" offering an array of specialty coffees. The gender assigned bathroom was clean with wood panel flooring and black swirly lined abstract designed wallpaper. The Sommarbo rattan wrapped wall mirror was a nice touch too. On this visit, never got the chance to find out if the coffee was the best in Delray but did fall for the marketing gimmick and happily took away a memorable experience.

But being that one I wanted to visit had closed and moved elsewhere and this one was the most direct route on my way back home, While the outdoor storefront seems unassuming outside of a set of two chairs and a standing ashtray, when you walk inside you're surrounded by nice square leather lounge chairs on both sides of the main room with a bar counter towards the center. The bar area offers both beer and wine, and they have some nice imported and American craft beer selections. The Duval ale was refreshing to enjoy as it had been a while since I had a glass of that beer. They have a very large walk-in humidor with high ceilings, offering most of the known brands that I enjoy smoking such as Padron, Fuente Fuente Opus X, Ashton, Oliva, and more. The staff is very attentive, assisting me as I had started to peruse the shelves of the various brands currently carried, and placing the sticks I wanted to purchase into a tray to take to the bar counter. I felt relaxed and chill. I have some terrific smokes for my collection. I will definitely be retuning again.
