Great place to hang out and burn with friends or to make new ones. Service is good as is the selection of smokes and accessories. Only set back is the lack of parking. Sometimes you have to park across the street. Manny is great to have conversation with. I stopped here periodically when in the area. read more

In all honesty, the following happened about 2 years ago, but it drove me to find another place to smoke & relax with other cigar smokers!! People not very welcoming to strangers. Very unusual for a cigar lounge. Kinda dingy inside. Wasn't happy when the guy followed me into the humidor, like I was gonna steal something. lol Their other place on Gateway is a much nicer place on all levels!! read more

My lovely girlfriend got me a gift card for my birthday and having nothing else to do on a Saturday afternoon I decided to check it out, and round out my typical travel bag before an upcoming cigar social. The smooth aroma of hundreds of tobaccos intermingling as I opened the door and a warm greeting from my host, "Manny", I knew I was in a good place. The shop is clean, quiet, and well stocked. Manny was quick to come around the counter and show me around the humidor room, his knowledge about binders, fills, and flavor profiles instantly put me at ease and I gratefully accepted his suggestions. There's a chest of lockers for you keep your kit there for more frequent visitors, a dedicated smoking area of course if you want to light up and while away the day, and a bar inside should you wish to wet your whistle afterwards. Great shop, great gift! read more

Cane to this place to grab a short smoke... they have good quality cigars and offer a great variety... walk in humidor well kept! Prices are on the usual side for a walk in and purchase for the moment... great selection of padrons!! They have a full bar and the lady that took care of me was spectacular... great service and a great smile as well... they also have outdoor seating and have 2 not so big tv's inside to watch games.... Nice Cigar lounge but horrible bartender. Cold is an understatement when you deal with her . Not welcoming at all . I do understand that some patrons are overwhelming but that's not the case here . But ironically right after me she was quite pleasant to the next patron . I guess helping my kind wasn't her cup of tea . I left and won't return . I refuse to spend my money anywhere where the staff isn't hospitable. Avoid this location and go elsewhere at all cost . One bad ruins the garden . read more

My husband and I were greeted by Nick who was so nice great cigar selections we went twice the happy hour was fabulous and our second visit there was a DJ who play all our requests which is old school R&B lol we had a blast sitting in the outdoor patio it was cold That weekend but the outdoor heaters worked great . What a great experience another "home away from home." the large 6 foot tall cigar store indian welcomed me even though I was walking through a 3"/hr deluge to hit the front door. I was welcomed at the door by Vinny (the owner) and Manny who was tending bar. Both were so warm and made me feel at home! Even offered me some paper towels to dry off. I asked Vinny if it was ok to smoke an "outside cigar" as I had a favorite habano with me. He said of course and helped me find a drink of choice. The place has such a cool homey vibe with a nice walk-in humidor, an airconditioned inside space, and a covered outdoor space in the back. I bought a nice selection of fairly rare Padrons to take home with me; Manny helped me with my selections and was very helpful. I settled into the indoor area with 5 regulars who were a riot. The laughs were non-stop. I got to hear a couple of life stories before I smoked my Hoyo down to the nub. Like the 2 NYers, they were all very welcoming. It turned out that a couple of them as well as myself had lost someone very important to them recently, which allowed us to form a special bond in the couple hours I was there. Great smoke shop very close to Atlantic ave (not many options around here). They have a decent selection of cigars given their size and also have a full liquor bar. The staff is always super friendly and it has a nice outside patio area. They also have nice comfy chairs inside, but I prefer to sit outside since it can get smokey inside. They have all sorts of events, live music, poker etc going on so check their site if you are into that stuff for time and dates. read more

A frat house basement but serviceable. They should have a "closed for repairs" sign on the door but that would be a shame as the staff and selection are excellent! I don't know how anyone could rate this cigar bar and shop any lower than four stars. Amazing selection of cigars, scotch, and beer. Very welcoming bar and lounge area. Love this place. Staff is amazing, the humidor is solid and one of the best happy hour's in the area drink wise. I come here about twice a month with some buddies, we sit on the patio and enjoy good convo and a great experience. Crowd is friendly and it's always a good time. The only downfall to Smoke Inn is the parking lot. It's very small so when they are busy you have to find street parking. Not a huge deal but helpful to know during peak hours. read more

I love coming to this little spot on Friday night for a glass of wine and some live music. This place is also great for anyone who loves cigars. They have so many selections and they also have bartenders who know the classic drinks. The staff is always very friendly and the bartenders get you your drinks quickly it's not like a crazy packed bar on the ave. Everything was fantastic but the burger initially came out a bit undercooked (we ordered it medium) so they cooked it a bit more and quickly brought it back. I thought the lamb wagyu was a bit light on the meat, the pork chop was amble and laid out nicely on the plate. We also tried the watermelon tequila drink (very refreshing and not too sweet), an old fashioned, and they have a good list of wines. We love the big cube in cocktails. I don't know how they got them to be so clear. The bar tender was great and the cooks were working very hard. The owner always comes by to say hello and chat. Second Rodeo varies the menu.

They also totally skipped us for the welcome glass of champagne, even though we literally watched them hand it out to everyone else. The most infuriating part was the bread situation. They told us we could not have any because their "upstairs bread oven wasn't working", but we could clearly see them actively serving bread to the downstairs customers. Make it make sense! Also, multiple people in our group had upset stomachs after and could not even stomach the food and left feeling uneasy. They now believe they have food poisoning which is disappointing since we used to love this place! It was also too loud inside and we felt packed as sardines. When we finally expressed our extreme dissatisfaction to the manager, he just gave us a weak "sorry" and did absolutely nothing to make it right. Honestly, the food was worse than cruise ship food and the customer service is completely nonexistent. It was a huge waste of money and a ruined night. Save your cash and go literally anywhere else.

Unfortunately, our first visit fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, we informed our server, John, that it was our first time dining at Hawkers. While many reviewers mentioned receiving a complimentary pickled cucumber appetizer, we were not offered one until we asked John about it late into the meal. We were also seated alone in the bar area while the main dining room was active, which immediately created a disconnect from the atmosphere and seemed to contribute to the service challenges that followed. We ordered the Curry Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, a glass of wine, and water with lemons. The lemons never arrived until we reminded our server. The Curry Chicken was delivered without rice, requiring another reminder before the meal was complete. Shortly afterward, the Chicken Lo Mein arrived, and we requested a fork. Fifteen minutes later, after nearly finishing the Curry Chicken, we finally flagged John down to remind him that the fork had never been delivered. By that point, the Lo Mein had been sitting long enough that it was barely warm, and we seriously considered sending it back. To add to the confusion, another server eventually informed us that he would be taking over our table, though no explanation was provided. As for the food, it was average at best. I've had significantly better Curry Chicken elsewhere, and the Chicken Lo Mein lacked the flavor and quality that would make me want to order it again. While the food was serviceable, it certainly wasn't memorable enough to overcome the service issues. A restaurant's first impression matters, and unfortunately Hawkers missed the mark on both service and execution during our visit. Between the forgotten items, long waits, lack of attentiveness, and uninspiring food, this is not a restaurant we plan to revisit.

It's the kind of place where you can relax with some excellent chow and a nice glass of vino. I previously wrote about their first Terroir Uncorked event, and a few weeks ago I returned for the second, celebrating Barcelona Wine Bar's 30th anniversary. Thirty wines were available to taste, paired with a wonderful selection of food. These events are a lot of fun, especially because they give you the opportunity to explore so many different wines from their list. Attendance is intentionally limited, creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Both events sold out, so when the next one is announced... don't wait. Executive Chef Javier Narvaez and Executive Sous Chef Marc Beauplan prepared some terrific dishes throughout the evening. Highlights included a beautiful oversized Paella and an outstanding Salt-Crusted Salmon. Of course, I was equally happy grazing on the wonderful assortment of cheeses and Serrano ham earlier in the evening. I sampled around twenty of the thirty wines, and the staff at each tasting station did an excellent job explaining the wines and answering questions. My favorites of the evening: Whites Forjas del Salnés, Leirana Albariño Raúl Pérez, Ultreia Blanco Reds Bodegas Olarra, Añares Gran Reserva R. López de Heredia, Viña Tondonia Reserva Cresca Vincent Lauren Brown, their GM, and her entire team did a terrific job organizing the evening and making sure everyone was having a great time. The paella was heavily sauced with tomato, the rice was undercooked and had more of a risotto-like texture, and the seafood was overcooked and dry. I still enjoy Barcelona and would return, but hopefully the paella was just an off night.
