I recently received notice that this company is threatening to sue me because of my review four years ago. I am posting an update to clarify that the wood wasn't cheap since I don't know how much they paid for it - maybe there was another issue with it that caused the warping and splintering so fast. Also, apparently I had no warranty. I would hope that with or without a warranty, Just Decks would have responded promptly and taken my concerns seriously. Hopefully this clarifies my post and Just Decks will no longer pursue any legal action against me for expressing my honest opinion and experience with them . read more

Do not schedule appointment with kumar he will not show up ! He canceled the first appointment at the last minute and then ask me to reschedule with him . he said he had to go out town all of a sudden kumar then was a no on the reschedule appointment ! Hired just decks to build out current deck. Instead of building out current deck they attempted to demolish my existing deck and replace it with the same deck. Would recommend going with another deck company. read more

Used Just Decks to build a deck and install french doors and a single door in April 2014. Before work began... The initial meeting was friendly and productive. The project manager arrived on time and answered the questions we had at the time and was fairly quick to respond to emails and phone calls answering questions as we asked for information that would help us decide whether to hire this company. After work began... The project manager never once came out to check progress of the job despite telling us before work began that he would come out periodically (I have an email from him stating this) and also despite several requests for him to come out during the building phase when we started having to redo work due to poor communication between him and the on site lead. He never came out to review the work once it was finished although I have emails from him saying he would do a final walk through. On several occasions, and without notification of any schedule change to us, the crew did not show up at the agreed upon time or did not show up at all that day. There were large gaps in deck planks end to end, a severely bowed railing, and they left the trim looking very rough after install of the doors. Took almost a year to get the permit. Permit was not pulled before the job began and they began the process in mid April 2014 after we insisted on making sure we followed city ordinance. We know the permit was issued by the city on 10/27/14 as communicated to us by the city, but Just Decks did not drop it off with us until December 2014 and city inspection was scheduled Jan 2015. We were not sent the Certificate until 3/17/15... almost a full year after the deck was built. Many times weeks would go by without communication from them, at least once the silence lasted over a month. We notified them on or before July 29, 2014 via email that a step had come loose but they did not send someone to fix it until December 2014. Update: Since I wrote the original version of this review yesterday, I have received email notice from them asking that I remove some of the comments with which they take issue. To confirm the accuracy of this Yelp review, I have double checked the detailed log I kept during this experience, a years worth of electronic correspondence, photos I took of the finished product, and the BBB complaint report I filed at the end of 2014 and have made edits as requested. I tried to do the same with the review I left on their Facebook page, but their pages appears to no longer be accessible to the public. read more

And I set an appointment with just decks several weeks in advance, and they never showed up to my house. We planned our valuable Saturday around this appointment time, and find it extremely unprofessional. I guess this goes to show the type of service we would get from them, so I'd rather find out before we paid money. read more

I hired Kumar to build a code compliant ramp walkway on a front of a restaurant, what a nightmare. Not only will it not pass inspection, he has a thousand excuses why its not his fault. I've been trying to get him to fix a steep ramp and install a handrail so it will pass inspection for three months, all he has are excuses. He says we changed it, we done this or that...all B.S. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable contractor that has integrity as Kumar and his father have none! read more

We hired Just Decks in June 2016 to have front decks and stairs replaced for two of our community condominiums. Initially, things appeared to be going well until a subcontractor engaged the assistance of a renter in the building, not licensed and not insured. After this happened, the owners contacted Alpharetta City Code enforcement and it turns out Just Decks never even applied for a permit to build in the first place! They accepted our payment and we almost one year later we are STILL trying to get the job completed by them as promised at payment. It was by only filing a complaint with BBB that were able to get any movement to our property to rectify the situation, save yourself the headache! read more

Avoid these guys at all costs. Absolutely appalling service. These guys lied about obtaining proper engineer inspections, failed to show up to work repeatedly, failed to get proper permits, and then still demanded to be paid in full for a contract they were unable to complete. There are too many good deck builders in Atlanta to waste your time with these clowns. read more

Hired these guys to build a screened porch and cedar fence. Wouldn't use them again even if THEY paid me. I agree with pretty much everything that Michaela T has to say in his review having had a similar experience with crews not showing up, only working 5 hours a day when they did show up, incompetent initial crew that was only replaced when I complained and the "project manager" finally came out to check out what was going on, poor attention to detail and many sloppy shortcuts taken, and the job taking 4 times longer than they said it would. No oversight of the ongoing work by the "project manager" who later claimed that "I" was the project manager (trying to justify his lack of oversight on the job). They were supposed to build a cedar fence but instead 70% of the posts are pressure-treated. Too many areas of sloppy work on the screened-in porch they built to go into detail here but feel free to contact me if you have any questions about them. Avoid at all costs! Absolutely great company! I searched for many contractors to rebuild my deck and add a room enclosure. After many months of searching I ran across Just Decks, I must say they were a breathe of fresh air. The salesman Kirk was very knowledgeable about the construction and codes, he provided me with endless information about codes and safety. Once the presentation was complete I felt like I was educated enough that I could build the project myself. I felt very confident and safe with choosing Just Decks. Once the construction began, the material was delivered and the crews were at my house starting the work. The crew work very diligently and meticulously on my project until completion. They kept the site clean after each day of work and the lead guy Bobby would always answer and address any questions or concerns. I am completely satisfied..Last thing during the presentation visit I was telling Kirk about how much I like fishing, and at the end of my project on my deck there sat a new fishing pole. That meant a lot, I felt like a friend, rather than just a paying customer. I would highly recommend this company! read more
