A boarding facility should understand the serious dangers of heat exposure, especially for large dogs, and take appropriate precautions. Based on our experience, that did not happen. The lack of knowledge, judgment, and care shown while our dog was in Kathy's custody resulted in a preventable, life-threatening medical emergency. We trusted Kathy's Boarding and Grooming with a beloved member of our family, and that trust was completely shattered. We cannot recommend this business and strongly urge other pet owners to think carefully before leaving their animals there.

We were regular customers of Bassler Veterinary Hospital for several years, beginning with when the doctor was on Bridge Road. When the doctor moved to the new building, it seemed as if the prices increased. We later found out that the doctor was including a training fee, meaning the additional fee was to continue to send her staff to training in the field. I can appreciate that and appreciate seeing all the certificates on the wall. At least it is assurance for you knowing her staff continue their education in the field. I can't tell you how many times I have been to other vets and they can't draw blood correctly. The staff here can do it flawlessly. We had our differences when the doctor moved to this location and it has been a few years since we have been to this doctor. The business is thriving in the area, so Dr. Bassler is doing something right. We would like to come back at some point to test the waters again, in the event there was some unfortunate experience with her and us at the beginning. I can say that Dr. Bassler does care about your pets. If you think prices are high, just shop around and ask around. Also consider pet insurance. We have Nationwide (VPI) Pet Insurance Superior and always recommend it. Be sure to ask the doctor and staff to explain all charges and ask questions all the time if you don't feel you are being informed. Prices can be expensive if you don't ask. The staff here are very friendly, educated, and caring. Dr. Bassler offers a general practice for your pet including dental services, in a new and clean facility. Dr. Bassler is a friendly and caring veterinarian who will absolutely care for your pets.

One of our shepherd lab mix had an end of life stroke (Dec '24) and the other shepherd hound mix had a debilitating cancer and lost key functions. (Feb '25). We were supported in our final decisions by the team at Bassler including Dr. Bassler herself. For anyone who has been through it, it is difficult to lose a part of your family. That said, I'd recommend Bassler. They are compassionate explaining the process. They have a dedicated room. They have a facility they work with for options and cremation, urns etc. Cost is around 300 for the procedure at the hospital and another 300 if you want to have the 3rd party do the arrangements for you. We did the free items they offered without additional cost. A basic box for ashes and paw print. You can spend a lot more if you choose for name plates and urns etc. For awareness, the Bassler group were very supportive and accommodating but they are not a 24 hour facility so plan accordingly. A few days later, we received a nice handwritten card from Dr Bassler that was signed by the whole staff who worked that day. None of it is easy or ok but Dr Bassler did the best for us in a difficult time. Obviously we stand by them as we used them twice. Best of luck.
