We needed to get our small kitchen floor redone. Just Floors moved our stove and refrigerator, then removed the floating floor and a layer of tile. They workers were very courteous. Theyleft extra tiles and glue in case we ever needed to replace one.
The hardwood flooring was a spur-of-the-moment decision when trying to decide on where to transition the open kitchen itno the dining room. The previous owners had carpeted over the hardwood floor, and we had been considering lifting the whole carpet and going back to floor -- but had no idea what shape it was in.
The salesman shot us a price on removing the area of carpet and sanding the floor, then leaving a "natural" finish. The price was right, so we agreed.
As one can imagine, doing this without actulaly knowing what was under the carpet is ill-advised. I lifted the carpet that night to see what was under it, and found hundreds of carpet staples, both dark and light very worn patches of wood, gaps where the wood had shrunken. A quick call to Just-Floors had me talking wth the owner and his assuring me they would handle the staples and shoot me a price on anything that might need repair. The area near the patio doors really concerned me, and words like "money pit" came to my mind.
These workers too were curteous. They removed staples in no time and had plastic up between the kitchen and the living room, effectively keeping the majority of dust contained. They pried boards together, when possible, and put down a liquid fast-drying wood filler for the rest. The varnish (?) was colored "natural" and helped lighten the dark spots. An extra nice touch was that they brought an extra piece of wood transition and laid it in front of the patio door.
