This year is a new principal, Ms. Cathy Jacobs is ridiculous! She offered me absolutely zero empathy or apology for any inconvenience to my circumstance. She simply repeated herself 3 times, as if I'm stupid or hard of hearing. I have enjoyed visiting with my children's teachers, peers, and most importantly my child at the end of the year holiday party. Apparently, there's a hard copy of a "News Letter" that I was suppose to receive and did NOT. I was suppose to get an email but got an email 2 day before the said event and the slots were full, when I sent 2 notes to the teacher 2 weeks prior to the event. My daughter said the teacher would email me and did not receive anything. This is not the first time that the lack of organization and communication has kept me from enjoying some time with my child. Oh and by the way, my email has not changed in 10 years! I am extremely dissatisfied with the principal her apparent lack of basic sense of humanity!

They have a LOT of learning activities even in the short 9-1 day, plus playground time, lunch, and free play. He always wants to show me what he did that day before we even get to the car. His teacher is utterly fantastic and so professional with parents and fun with the kids. We are always greeted by more than one staffer on our way in and out of the building, usually referring to my son by name. Initially, I was not in favor of public school and put my daughter in a charter school for kindergarten. There, I learned that smaller classes don't mean a better education. After a rough start there, I did a little more work on finding the positive attributes of public school. Cy-Fair really changed my outlook. While the elementary schools hover at around 1000 students each, I've learned that the teachers and staff can make that seem less overwhelming. Plus, an active PTO throughout makes up in the areas where the school needs help. My daughter is entering her third year at public school and loves it. I am so pleased Cy-Fair proved to me that public school is still a viable option even in a huge metropolitan area.

This center has been around for YEARS with the same director, which is important. My children are cared for as if they were at home with me or other family members. I get concerned phone calls any time they miss more than a day or 2 in a row. I even get notified of every little bump, just in case it turns out to be something more than something small. Both of my children took their sweet time talking, but after just a few short weeks of going to The Honey Tree, their vocabulary exploded. My son has recently moved up to the Pre-K program and I have already seen so much improvement with his writing skills & visual recognition of numbers & letters. He is even starting to try to sound out words on his own. Miss Helen and her entire staff really do go above & beyond to make sure that every child is loved and cared for.
