I was a little worried about my stuff during Hurricane Harvey but to my surprise, the units stayed high and dry while the rest of Kingwood flooded. The Kingwood location itself would get 5 stars from me, but I have deducted 2 starts for the pricing practices of Metro Storage. I've only been there 5 months and my rates have already been increased but almost 10%. When I called to ask about this, I was told that the corporate office always increases rates at around the 5 month mark. So buyer beware...these "specials" they advertise, they are only good for 5 months or so.

The other issue is the door doesn't open or close properly and they was a pile of gravel on the floor with grease/oil underneath. I was told there is a 30-day vacate notice. The lady agent advise our move-out date would be March 3. I confirmed that we would NOT be charged March rental, as long as facility is vacated by March 3. Today, we get billed a WHOLE additional month. I called the facility and spoke to a "supervisor name Isreal H, who is absolutely NO help whatsoever.) He informed me that yes, the bill date is March 1, (although we vacated end of February) today is March 4th. So we will be billed an ENTIRE month of $288.71. This place is a complete RIP-off, I did EXACTLY as I was instructed, and still get billed an entire month.

I called back up and the straitened the unit number but even though they told me the free month was on the account it was not. Each month I called up to find out why I was still being charged the manager Arleen said she will get it fixed this went on for 2 months she never called back to say it was not on the account. Today 5/31/23 I called and it was escalated and I guess she was trying to CYA and called and said it was never on my account I should have been told this before getting charged two month and going through the song and dance that it would be fixed.
