The only thing that perhaps let the hotel down was the buffet breakfast, it was included in the room rate though so I won't complain too much. The suite and the balcony were both excellently appointed, and quite large. The bed was very comfortable. The couch, bureau, desk and chairs were all in excellent condition. The room itself was beautiful, with era appropriate design. The balcony was excellent, comfortable and quite large. There were two outdoor lounge chairs, and a table with two chairs. With all of that, there was still enough room left on the balcony for my morning workout. The grounds are beautiful. And the hotel continues its use of greenery on the balconies to separate areas for each suite. All done tastefully and the plants are all in very good condition. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. An assortment of croissants, made to order omelets, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, excellent cheeses, meats . . . It goes on and on. The staff were quite lovely and extremely helpful. In truth, I was prepared for a bit of pushback when my wife and I showed up - we are gay. Not even a blink of an eye from anyone. Unfortunately, these days that is a welcome relief. And the spa - out of this world! Massages, lovely jacuzzi/hot tub, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and more. If you are a guest the hotel there is a small fee for the use of the spa. The pool is lovely. It sits right next to lake Como. Jumping in was easy, if you have the stamina for cold water. There is a small cafe at the pool with food and drinks. The staff brings your order out to wherever you are sitting. The village of Maltrasio is filled with beauty and lovely people. The hotel is on the shore and the village goes up the hill. The walk to the village is short, but a bit steep. All in all this is a lovely place to come if you want beauty, relaxation, good food and kind people.

So I'll keep this short and simple: the Sheraton is a good comfortable option at MXP but prices in their food and beverage services are very high. The hotel is large and had availability, which when you're scrambling at their airport for is what matters most. Room rate was reasonable for an airport property and the rooms were comfortable. The location directly connects to the terminal so you never have to go outside and makes it easy to get back. Breakfast the next morning was a solid spread with plenty of options. If you don't have it included in your rate it is 27 euro a person. Not the cheapest breakfast but for a buffet with multiple options it's OK. My only dislike was their automatic espresso machines made horrible espresso. Order from the service staff instead and have it crafted by a barista. I also had time to burn during the day, so I tried the spa. That was a highlight. The 80 minute massage was great and the relaxation spaces were worth it. Only downside here was that the spa runs à la carte, so on top of 180 euro for my 80 minute massage I paid an extra 10 euro just to use the sauna and steam room. In my opinion, that should not be a separate charge at that price if I'm already paying for a service (which was not cheep). Biggest downside: Everything outside the room rate felt aggressively overpriced. Water in their restaurant was seven euro a bottle. We ate at a Michelin starred restaurant in Milan earlier in the trip and paid six euro for the same thing. The lunch menu had similar moments. Entrees outside of "pizza" cost you between 30-40 euro. Four stars. It did its job when we needed it. Just know it's costly for the extras on site.

And look, it may have been sheer exhaustion or our vacation brains leading us to get lost - for several minutes - once we arrived, but I couldn't find anything on the airport's site, Marriott's site, or the map to pinpoint where, exactly, one entered the hotel. (For those curious, if you're taking the train in, make a left before you hit the big glass tunnel, you can't miss the doors and the sign. My husband mis-understood the instructions and led us on a merry (but not really "merry") chase through the car rental area before realizing we'd done a big ole donut and that we'd need help. Americans, amirite?!) The staff was friendly and helpful, which I've come to expect from Marriott employees the world over. The lobby was big and beautiful, and felt calm and welcoming - something I'm absolutely certain was planned because travel can be so stressful. My next observation is about the size of the hotel. It's not a complaint, more of a "whoo, didn't expect *that*!" because our room was up, over, sideways, into, out of, above and under. I kid you not, it took us almost 10 minutes to walk from the elevators to our room. My Bonvoy account is set up to request "room away from elevators" and did they ever deliver on that! It took us so long to get to our room that zero part of me wanted to leave it again until it was time to head to our gate. (But of course, the man needed dinner.) The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was just as cozy as I'd hoped. We got a good night's sleep, even though we got to bed late and had to wake up early for our flight. Was it an extravagance, booking a different hotel? Probably. Did it make a world of difference in our final day of travel? Absolutely. And I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I guess they don't check those. They have a billiard room downstairs but there's a conference table in it no pool table there's also a café or lunch coffee or breakfast place downstairs it's a buffet you pay. It's not free because $10 for the buffet. All I got was coffee charged at the room and came back up. The problem was we only had one key my wife was in the bathroom so I couldn't take the key out because the lights would go out so make sure you get two keys.

It was just a one night stay, which I very much regret now. The hotel is spotless. Every nook and cranny is squeaky clean. There's a small bar in the lobby with excellent cocktails, just the ticket after a day of travel. The restaurant is very pricey, so I didn't dine there. Not many others did, either. However, at breakfast, the restaurant is hopping, and the breakfast buffet is rich with pastries, hot dishes, and most importantly, all the espresso you can drink. Heavenly. Also of note for the cooler months, the patio is a beautiful garden area to eat the aforementioned breakfast. I was upgraded to a suite, and it was the perfect nook to relax in. The massive shower had a rainfall showerhead that actually had some pressure, making it one of the most relaxing experiences possible. I stayed in far longer than I normally do because it was so delightful. Checkout and check-in were both relaxing experiences. Additionally, there's a shopping center not far from the hotel for those without a car. It's a great spot for dinner and to pick up any necessary items or groceries. I could hear the people next door to me so if you are a light sleeper, it may not be the place for you. Parking was right under the hotel and easy in and out during the day if needed.
