Painting the existing cabinets was not an option, it was 1/3 the cost but did not come with all the bells and whistles, Crown Molding, Lighting molding, kick plates, new hardware and all of the accessories. Owning a painting franchise for 15 years I also was well aware that painting only deferred the project for a few years (which some customer want) but did not hold up much more than 3 to 5 years. Buying factory cabinets was not an option either for the reasons above and when you add the extras the decision was easy go custom. Chris was amazing to work with, of all the people we have had work on our home over the years he is the most detailed. Once the new cabinets came in they fit like a glove because he measured three/four time. The quality is very high as he does not take short cuts when it comes to materials or installation. Our granite and time contractors were impressed how square everything was and how detailed the installation was. I went to the Denver Design Center just to get ideas and find motivation. The last store we walked into was Kitchen Traditions of Colorado, where I was told they had a designer, Andria Uhrig, on staff. I made an appointment to have Andria come.out to my cramped house with all its wasted space, horrible flow and no storage. She took measurements of all the rooms, asked a lot of questions to determine my likes, dislikes and ideas and established whatvI was hoping for as a final result, whichnwas a floor plan that offered good flow, felt roomy but utilized every square inch. And that is exactly what Andria delivered!! Andria presented me with actual CAD drawings with optional floor plans for me to choose from, she recommended a professional contractor that she had successfully worked with in the past and she offered to be involved in the selection of materials as much or as little as I wanted/needed. All of that was such a relief and made what I considered to be an intimidating and formidable project doable! Andrea's expert knowledge of design and construction, as well as her high degree of professionalism and excellent communication skills, made my project go smoothly. She and the contractor worked so well with together and with me, from start to finish, to create a beautiful and functional home that I am so pleased with. Andria was always readily available to answer questions and solve problems. I never felt that the project was waiting on her to move forward, and in fact, she was so sweet about keeping me at task to make decisions and select materials to keep the project moving forward. The outcome of Andria's work is so much better than I could have imagined when I purchased my house. Andria's ideas to create space, provide storage and organization as well as to offer an easy flow is nothing short of amazing!
