I asked for clarification since that instruction didn't match where I was on the road, but he repeated "go right" several times. So I followed his direction exactly as stated, even though I knew it wasn't correct, because he insisted multiplee times! Afterward, instead of acknowledging the confusion, he made comments about my disabilities and told me to "stop making excuses" and "you have a lot of diseases all of a sudden" when literally all I said was that I have dyslexia & Autism and need his instructions to be clearer... I wouldn't be as upset about failing if it were because of my OWN mistake, but in this case, the error happened because of unclear and inconsistent instructions from the instructor. So Long story short, he told me to cut across lanes and cars to make a right turn instead of letting me take the left and correct it. When I asked for clarification multiple times, he got irritated and repeated "go right," so I did, and then he failed me for following his OWN instructions.

this place is a joke. the owner is not only rude to…read morepotential new clients, but she is rude to all people. especially the kids. though my experience with this kumon location was short it was way too long. basically, i made an appt. was greeted as if i had not (she double booked). i addressed her rudeness and she quickly simmered down. being that i wanted to have my child be properly equipped for the new school year, i gave a deposit anyway because i believed in the kumon mission. that being said, when it came time to the initial admissions test (that was scheduled for 30 mins) she spent 10 mins with my child then came out of the room highlighting all the things my child didn't know. to her surprise, my nanny stood there and asked my child to answer all of the points this women had just stated she didnt know. as expected my child knew all of the work and passed with flying colors. what this location seems to do is lie to parents about where their kids are academically as to then make it seem like her and kumon helped them grow and advance, when really your kid most likely already knew the material. in the end, my daughter never started the program and i received a full refund with a thumbs up emoji from the kumon franchise owner. this place is a scam.

Many students fresh out of high school think that going here will look "bad" in the long run when transferring, and finding a career, but I strongly disagree. Professors Valerie Royals and Dr. David Rodgers are great. I took classes in communications, micro/macro economics, financial/managerial accounting, all of my general ed classes, etc. And guess what? They ALL transferred to the University of Hartford, all 60 credits. Many of the full time staff and adjunct teachers have real-world experience and incorporate that into every day lessons. Some also teach part time or night classes at UCONN or UHART. I also remember having a professor in marketing who worked full-time for Pfizer, and a professor and mathematics who works full-time at the Hartford. I can't guarantee that those same people will still be there now, but when I can tell you is that this experience was not only great, but I was able to commute from my house extremely easily, and it saved me tons of money! I am now out of college debt-free because I started off I community college. To put it in perspective, I spent two years here, that's four total semesters as well as a few summer classes here and there to speed up the process. Each semester ran me about $1750 not including books. Books or anywhere from $3-$500 depending on the semester. This is pennies on the dollar compared to the university I transferred to! I also can't say with 100% confidence these prices because are the same because this was about 3+ years ago and I'm sure they have risen but they are most definitely cheaper then any state school or university! Some other perks about Northwestern are: free printing from the library, free tutoring assistance for classes, small class sizes, office hours with professors, opportunity for extra credit, activities part provided by the school and clubs to participate in!
