I did my due diligence and researched as much as I could find and took 4 quotes from a select group of contractors. I had my personal favorite on who I hoped would win the bid. I got my way! While Terra Pavers was not the lowest bid they also were not the most expensive. I went back to my research and mirrored the pros and cons of several bids; ultimately, Terra Pavers won the job. We went down to their vendor to look at samples and placed our order. Little did we know that there would be a supply issue that would set all paver companies back months. No one's fault, just is what it is. Damn COVID to Hades and back, better yet just stay in Hades and don't come back! Through the waiting process, Terra Pavers got permits approved (no small feat in my little community) and we waited on pavers. During the wait, the Customer Service Manager Janette maintained contact periodically and occasionally Javier (engineer) would check in to let me know they are trying to press but they too are waiting for pavers on ALL jobs. Fast forward... Finally, they arrived. Let the fun begin! Day 1 all old pavers picked up and moved to the side. They brought in sand and leveled the area tamped it down and then rechecked level. Day 2 crew arrives with pavers in tow. Over the course of the day these guys worked like mad and literally were ~90% done at days end. Day 3 smaller crew arrives and they finish up all detail work. They took away all debris and there was NOTHING to clean up when they left. The job they did literally surpassed my highest expectations... as well as when the city comes out to do the final inspection in the permit... they were commenting on the extra touches and attention to detail the company took. They literally cut the pavers on a curve going around the pool with a 15 inch wide blade. I didn't even know that was possible! Can't beat that in my book! Oh, and did I say how incredibly fabulous the pavers look and the top tier workmanship? My backyard is now beautiful! I would highly recommend Terra Pavers and and would like to thank them for their professionalism and incredible work!

Then on a Saturday morning they would randomly call wanting to come over when I had company. It went on for three weeks before I finally had a company that does nothing but sealing do it. Also, the pavers are sinking, are uneven and have caused a tripping hazard. That has nothing to do with sealing. The flagpole would not stay up in any weather. the four pieces would fall in on themselves, so I was left with one three foot flagpole. Multiple people tried to fix it. I finally just pulled it out of the ground with one hand. I do appreciate you getting in touch and trying to fix this, but with such a history of so many things being done wrong, done poorly, or not done, it seems foolish to continue - I simply have no confidence it would ever be done right, so I will take responsibility for fixing it.

Overall Job Quality is acceptable but probably lower than average. They promise a white glove…read moreservice and don't deliver. Sales and Estimate:If you enjoy a 3.5 hour time sales pitch then have D&D give you an estimate. They initially said they needed 1 hour of our time, they came at 5:30 and left at 9p. They start with an estimate that is double most others, then work their way back hard selling the entire time. They claim all their workers are with the company - no contractors (lie #1), I specifically asked do they leave a cement mess in my landscaping: they claimed they have white glove service and no materials like rinsed cement etc are left on property (lie #2). Cancellation Process: After signing, we decided we signed under pressure and duress and needed more time. We asked about canceling and our request was ignored for 4 days, when they responded they said it had passed the cancellation period and that there was a $6,000 fee to cancel. The founder got on the phone after we escalated our argument. Stephen assured me he would make a special effort to "micro-manage the hell out of my project" and I would be extremely happy. I never saw or heard from him after that conversation. Project review: Pablo (nice guy and the only one that promptly responded when we had issues) came out to review the project, dimensions etc. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Demo and base rock layer: (delayed 1 week because initial inspections failed.) Seemed to do an ok job of prepping the base layer. These contractors (not Deck and Drive employees) caused some sidewalk damage that was never repaired even after requesting D&D to repair and then saying they would. I expected any sprinkler plumbing near the driveway to be destroyed and it was, however I was told they would leave it exposed or marked where the remaining pipes were - I had to dig up the base layer to find and repair the plumbing. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Install: Contractors (not D&D employees) did the install. They were nice and did an ok job, with the exception of not getting the dimensions correct as contracted and shown on plan. The second day when it looked like they were finishing, I asked them to measure and compare to the plan, they took the time to extend the width at that point to plan. The area between the sidewalk and street was never extended to meet the street, instead they put an asphalt patch to make up the 6-8 inch gap.The micro-manager might have caught this - if only he had stopped by. Overall the job was ok, better than the previous asphalt driveway but not as nice as I hoped for based on Stephen the micro-manager's promise. Btw, never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Sealing: a couple weeks after the install someone came out and cleaned, resanded, and sealed the driveway. Meh, several gaps remained. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Permits and Inspections: After a couple of weeks I noticed the inspections were not scheduled on the city website, I called D&D, their dedicated permitting office somehow missed this and scheduled the inspections, which failed the first time through. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Customer Care and Followup: never ( I waited 3 months to post this review) heard from Deck & Drive to ask how it went. They simply never reached out to ask. They are focused solely on sales and not on customer satisfaction, it's like they could care less. I would be surprised if this company lasts much longer.

They are responsive - phone calls are always answered or, at worst, returned the same day. They are polite and professional - and we always get straight answers. There has never been an "upsell" - we've never been told that we need a new roof. The message has always been - this is what's broken and here's how we fix it. I always get a detailed (and understandable) report, usually with arial photos taken by drone. Work has always been done on time and professionally. Once repairs were made we've never had a problem in the same general area. Finally, Mike is the consummate professional. He is a true professional and gentleman. I cannot offer higher praise.

Today (Palm Sunday) we had a leak in the part of the roof Mike hadn't originally installed. I gingerly texted Mike to ask his advice. What I got back was well more than anything I could have expected. Mike called to tell me his supervisor, Travis, was already en route to our house. I then got a call from Travis saying he was twenty minutes out. 18 minutes later, he was at the door. He reviewed the leak inside, got his ladder and climbed up the roof and within ten minutes, was back down and showing me pictures of where he'd determined a dryer vent had let water in. Mike called me back to tell me he had a team he could send. Now. I told him it's Palm Sunday, I don't want to take your guys away from their families. Mike said, they are busy all week, this is my best chance to get this fixed. It won't take more than four hours. I agreed and within an hour, there they were at the door, ready to go. They cleared the tile, laid proper under layers - three layers in total. Then buttoned it all up again and were done within two and a half hours. I got a full set of pictures from Mike explaining every step of what was done. All this would be great on a weekday. But a Sunday? Palm Sunday? I am just in awe. From a customer perspective, it's like having a choice of hiring superheros like Mike and his team, or saying no thank you - I prefer the usual sheisters and snake oil salesmen that typically make up the roofing business. You can spin the wheel and take your chances - but for me - I just feel damn lucky to have found someone who provides this level of service and this quality of work all for a really modest price.
