Overall Job Quality is acceptable but probably lower than average. They promise a white glove service and don't deliver. Sales and Estimate:If you enjoy a 3.5 hour time sales pitch then have D&D give you an estimate. They initially said they needed 1 hour of our time, they came at 5:30 and left at 9p. They start with an estimate that is double most others, then work their way back hard selling the entire time. They claim all their workers are with the company - no contractors (lie #1), I specifically asked do they leave a cement mess in my landscaping: they claimed they have white glove service and no materials like rinsed cement etc are left on property (lie #2). Cancellation Process: After signing, we decided we signed under pressure and duress and needed more time. We asked about canceling and our request was ignored for 4 days, when they responded they said it had passed the cancellation period and that there was a $6,000 fee to cancel. The founder got on the phone after we escalated our argument. Stephen assured me he would make a special effort to "micro-manage the hell out of my project" and I would be extremely happy. I never saw or heard from him after that conversation. Project review: Pablo (nice guy and the only one that promptly responded when we had issues) came out to review the project, dimensions etc. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Demo and base rock layer: (delayed 1 week because initial inspections failed.) Seemed to do an ok job of prepping the base layer. These contractors (not Deck and Drive employees) caused some sidewalk damage that was never repaired even after requesting D&D to repair and then saying they would. I expected any sprinkler plumbing near the driveway to be destroyed and it was, however I was told they would leave it exposed or marked where the remaining pipes were - I had to dig up the base layer to find and repair the plumbing. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Install: Contractors (not D&D employees) did the install. They were nice and did an ok job, with the exception of not getting the dimensions correct as contracted and shown on plan. The second day when it looked like they were finishing, I asked them to measure and compare to the plan, they took the time to extend the width at that point to plan. The area between the sidewalk and street was never extended to meet the street, instead they put an asphalt patch to make up the 6-8 inch gap.The micro-manager might have caught this - if only he had stopped by. Overall the job was ok, better than the previous asphalt driveway but not as nice as I hoped for based on Stephen the micro-manager's promise. Btw, never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Sealing: a couple weeks after the install someone came out and cleaned, resanded, and sealed the driveway. Meh, several gaps remained. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Permits and Inspections: After a couple of weeks I noticed the inspections were not scheduled on the city website, I called D&D, their dedicated permitting office somehow missed this and scheduled the inspections, which failed the first time through. Never saw or heard from Stephen the micro-manager during this process. Customer Care and Followup: never ( I waited 3 months to post this review) heard from Deck & Drive to ask how it went. They simply never reached out to ask. They are focused solely on sales and not on customer satisfaction, it's like they could care less. I would be surprised if this company lasts much longer. read more

Our experience with Deck and Drive (D&D construction) has been extremely disappointing. From the start, the work was full of mistakes, poor workmanship, and almost no communication. Pavers were installed in the wrong direction and wrong colors, the walkway was placed incorrectly, cement was left exposed, no underlayment was installed under the sand (so now we have weeds growing up through our pavers), and then they even installed pavers over an active sprinkler head. They repeatedly missed appointments, sent crews during all-day rain (so no work could be done on those days), and ignored our requests for basic protection around our home. Before D&D even started our project, they told our finance company it was "substantially complete," and they tried to collect full payment. Then later, despite the project being nowhere near complete, D&D again told our finance company it was "substantially complete" and tried to collect full payment. Due to the lack of progress, the quality concerns, and D&D's refusal to provide a corrective plan in writing, we no longer felt comfortable allowing them to continue. In response, D&D placed a lien on our home and threatened foreclosure. To protect ourselves, we felt forced into having to hire an attorney to try to rectify all the issues. We have now been in this lawsuit for well over a year, with pallets and sand still blocking our driveway, and our front entrance is still not fully usable. Based on our experience, we can not recommend Deck and Drive (D&D Construction). This review doesn't even represent all of the issues we have with D&D in regard to our project. There are so many issues, we can't even write them all in this review. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns and correcting their mistakes, they chose to pressure, misrepresent progress, and ultimately sue and threaten to foreclose on their customers. We had a fairly simple project but required a permit which they arranged without incident. Work crew did good job and cleaned up well. A few damaged bricks needed to be replaced. Stay away from this company as they make big promises and don't deliver. We only need a repair for the driveway, they said we don't do repair, we only do new work. So I thought of extending the driveway. But their saleswoman upsold me the porch extension with travetine. They never take the measurements or anything. No communication from them and they refused to verify the specs or show me the material after it was manufactured. They delivered the wrong pavers, white pavers instead of our pink (10x6") and smaller size (9x5.5"). We needed 1 pallet, but they dumped 4 pallets and said it it was a mistake. They are very negligent and don't care about customers. They send amateur workers who don't speak english who messed up our driveway by cutting and throwing away our precious old pavers. Then they put different pavers they bought from somewhere to restore the driveway. If they can't even do simple repair job then how can they do new work? They pressured us to do the extension with the white pavers they delivered. Because they didn't fit, Deckn'drive said they can do by cutting them. Their own sub-contractor refused to install it saying that it was very laborious task and would take a while and driveway would look ugly. So refused to install the non-matching pavers, as it is clearly written in the contract that new pavers to match the existing one. I even gave them option to get used pavers like ours to get the job done but they didn't want to do it. Why? Because if they can get free money then what is the need for doing anything. They have left all our landscaping all dug up and sprinklers and pipes are broken and left it unrepaired. Very unprofessional and irresponsible company. Now DecknDrive is blaming that we didn't want to do the job (when their own contractor refused) demanding $4,500 which they say is their minimum amount for a project. And they have now put a lien on my house. I feel they deliberately do this by hiding information from customers, knowing people will reject the material and not do the project, then get them to pay up money under threat of lien. I chose Deck and Drive to install pavers in my front yard because of Scott's knowledge, professional presentation, and the expertise demonstrated by the installation team. However, several months later, I have some concerns. Approximately six months after installation, my confidence in Deck and Drive has unfortunately diminished. Initially, I was very excited and truly loved the transformation the pavers brought to my home. The curb appeal was outstanding. Since then, I have been informed by several individuals who admired my driveway that it may not have been sealed properly. Additionally, grass is now growing through some of the cracks between the pavers. When I followed up with representatives from Deck and Drive regarding these concerns, I was informed by the project manager that there would be an additional cost to make the necessary corrections. Nightmare experience during initial consultation. The scheduling department was extremely rude and gave us incorrect information about what to expect during the initial visit. We had someone come out for a quote and we were told to give the appointment about an hour. They were here for over 3 hours--just to collect info and measurements for a quote. We told them the exact material and size we wanted, showed them the space we needed covered, and gave them 3 hours. That wasn't enough. At the end of the visit they said they can't give a quote because we need to sit down and talk?!?!? YOU WERE HERE FOR 3 hours? We talked! Crazy! No thank you. We had Deck and Drive install a travertine patio. Two of our neighbors had used Deck and Drive, and we were impressed with the work and the fact that, in both cases, they came back to change things to be sure the customers were satisfied. In one case, they came back after a full year. I had questions about the contract, and their incredible representative spent over an hour with me answering every question. Now - as for the work: I was incredibly impressed with the very careful measuring done as the sand was being sloped just right for proper drainage. Everyone worked with me when we were delayed by our HOA. They also changed their schedule so that we could get a termite treatment done after they began the digging. The workers were polite, communicated well with me, and left our yard in perfect condition. We have faith that if something goes wrong, they will come back and fix it. I am a bit of a manager as work goes on in my house. They always made time to answer my questions. One remarkable part of the design and their mastery is that, when they looked ahead to where the patio would end, the layout would have left a very thin strip of tiles. They adjusted the size of the tiles in the design so that this didn't happen. Each worker told me what to expect in the next step and what to be sure got done. They even out the extra tiles where we wanted them in our garage. We love our beautiful patio! read more

I made an appointment with Deck & Drive last week to receive an estimate for replacing the pavers on my driveway and walkway. The appointment was scheduled for Memorial Day and I agreed to it. Since I live in a gated community, I asked for the name of the person coming so I could place them on the gate list. I didn't receive a name until I followed up myself via text, just 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Shortly after, the sales representative texted me directly, stating he would arrive at about 1:30 p.m for our 1p.m. appointment, which he did. Upon arrival, the representative extended his hand for a greeting. It was unexpectedly wet and sticky. After some small talk, he asked if I could put his sports drink in my freezer, which I agreed to. He began measuring the area, but about ten minutes later asked to use my bathroom. I politely declined, at which point he said "no problem" and left to use a nearby gas station. He returned about half an hour later. He brought a small bag of paver samples and expressed that he needed to sit at a table to review them and show me paperwork on his tablet. I explained that I didn't have an outdoor table but offered a chair and suggested placing the samples on the driveway for comparison. He insisted on needing a table and soon after began walking away, stating, "You know, just like you can choose who you want to do business with... you haven't been very hospitable." And with that, he left. When I scheduled the appointment, I was told there might be a $100 charge unless certain criteria were met -- I had to be the homeowner, all owners had to be present and I needed a copy of the property survey. Nowhere was it mentioned that access to my bathroom and a table inside my home were also required. Had I known that was expected, I would not have scheduled the appointment. Caveat emptor -- let the buyer beware. This experience was disappointing and unprofessional, and I hope others are aware of what they might encounter. Deck and Drive has taken the position that even though they did not provided the Notice of Right Cancel at the time of the Sale on 2/15/2024 and they provided on 3/22/2024 when I called to get a copy. I will be filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services , the Federal Trade Commission, the Florida Department and Professional Regulations and reaching out an attorney If you had a similar experience with this company, please contact me. If there are enough people, perhaps we can file a class action lawsuit. The sales person not having a hard copy of the contract at the time of the sales appointment for review and execution is by design and is intricate part of the company's business model. The contract is a total of 8 pages yet the sales person only show page 1 and 2 on his/her tablet. Signature is on page 2, the terms start on page 5 and right to cancel is on page 8. Deck and Drive recently completed a project for us, installing new pavers in both our front and back yard. Overall, we are satisfied with the results. It took us a while to choose pavers and lock down the design, but we are very happy with what we selected and it looks like a million bucks on our property. Amazing company! We were so impressed with their service. They were professional, reliable , and great communication at every phase of the project . They were very patient and worked with our slow to respond HOA association, but we finally got the project done. They were on time every time and their prices are definitely the best we've seen. D & D did not pay their supplier and under FL statue the supplier can come after me even though I paid D & D in full.Last March I got a NTO (notice to owner) saying D & D had not paid. Overall, the final outcome came out well. It looks really nice after I resealed it....which is recommended 60 days after install. Their team is professional and usually available. I did have some issues with their scheduling process and lack of communication. Also be careful on the contract, they want 75% before a single paver is laid. I didn't realize it until after I signed the contract. They do a lot of business and I think they may have trouble scheduling all the jobs. I hired them because I checked them out and they seemed to be a reputable organization. Also they were open to a permit, whereas the other fly by nighters try to avoid it. After I hired them, I did notice they had many complaints...and it did concern me. Also there was no final satisfaction follow up by them, unlike other companies I used. In my final analysis....I would recommend using them but only with a smaller upfront payment, and larger holdback until the job is completed. This company cleaned and sealed driveway in May 2023 with 3 year guarantee on project. I was getting estimates on cleaning again in 2024 only to find out the product they used to seal my drive was a solution that should not have been used. All reputable companies informed me they had to strip the prior sealant. I called Deck and Drive to since they gave a 2024 estimate without stripping prior sealant. When I called them back to discuss what other contractors were quoting me and telling me how to proceed they said they agreed it had to be removed. They never came to my house to see the job and simply said nothing they can do about sealant they told me 2 years ago would last for 3 years. Be careful using this company. read more

I have to say, I'm fairly shocked by how this company showed up at my house to estimate my simple paver job. From the moment of my first phone call asking for someone to come out and see me the office manager patronized me by repeatedly asking if I had a spouse and virtually requiring that my spouse would need to be there. It must have been five times that I told her I'm more than capable of making the decision. That was my warning flag and I should've ended the requests right there but I had heard good things about their quality, so wanted an estimate. She also insisted that I spend and put aside at least an hour of my time for the estimate. Again quite insulting. Then they sent out an estimator who put the hard sell on me from the moment he got there. He used cheesy slogans and questions like "if I answer these three questions for you will you buy the product today? Multiple times. The sales presentation was a canned presentation on an iPad designed to create the impression of high-quality work, except that when he calculated the proposal and estimate on the spot it came in at $18,000 with a roughly 20% discount, that was fully $10,000 higher than the next two bids. Total scam artists. And the sales person was so rude that he would not leave my house asking me repeatedly if he can have me talk to his manager, just like high-pressure tactics at Sales car dealerships. I quite literally had to throw the man out my door. The final way I knew that this is a boiler room sales operation is he had in tow with him a fresh sales recruit, indicating that they rifle through numerous sales people and have to always be training new ones. All in all, quite pathetic and I would highly discourage anyone else from using this company's services unless you like high-pressure tactics and wasting money on incredibly inflated services. I am quite shocked by these bad reviews. I first used Deck and Drive for my circular driveway pavers. The following year I used them to install pavers around my pool and patio. 5 years laters the pavers look fantastic and are often commented on by our guests. I have referred multiple friends to them and all have been there extremely pleased. The negative reviews seem unrelated to the quality of work performed and those should be removed. After obtaining several quotes and from multiple contractors we settled on Deck and Drive Pavers. Romana was our project manager and she did not disappoint. D&D kept us informed every step of the way and even installed our project earlier than projected. The patio and walkway were installed with expert talent and completed the job in less than two days. We had a few minor issues with a hidden sprinkler head (I was unaware it was there) and some additional backfill was required for the drain system installed to prevent a gutter drain from flooding the new walkway. D&D returned and corrected both issues. I highly recommend them for any of your pavers needs. They are professionals and honor their work and warranty. We're not happy with the driveway extension Deck and Drive did. At $2,500 for less than 75 square feet of driveway, we expected higher quality work. The job was unsupervised by a field manager and the three workers seemed inexperienced which showed in their work. They were not detailed in their execution of our building plan. I thankfully caught them before they laid paver stone where they needed to pour concrete but they capped three sprinkler heads that they shouldn't have. Moreover, the driveway pavers were installed in the wrong pattern and several stones were cracked. Worst of all, the whole extension is visibly not in line with the existing pavers or the new pavers they installed. All the field manager can say after the fact is that it was the best job they could do so they won't fix it any more. It's an eye sore and a constant reminder of my regret in hiring this company. read more
