Beautiful hotel in the heart of Charlotte! I was only here for one night for a conference but I had a fantastic stay! We landed late in the evening like past midnight but we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Apparently other rooms were booked so they upgraded us to executive rooms which came with access to the lounge. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check it out but they serve breakfast there as well as snacks throughout the day. The rooms themselves were stunning, with lots of space, and very comfortable. Honestly wish I had stayed more than one night! The conference I went to was actually at the same hotel and that was wonderful as well! Again great staff, beautiful conference rooms, and surprisingly the food they served was also pretty good too! After checking out we were hanging out in the lobby just killing time before heading to the airport but the lovely lady at the front desk made sure to check on us and even offered some water. Amazing staff certainly made for an amazing stay!

On our way to the JW !!

Great stay! For a downtown location I was amazed how quiet it was. Staff was very friendly. Property was spotless. This JW Marriott Property is doing everything right!

I felt genuinely welcomed from the moment I checked in -- the staff set the tone for an amazing stay right away. The lobby bar has a great energy and is one of the nicest I've experienced, perfect for relaxing or meeting up before heading out. The guest rooms are exactly what I expect as a Marriott Platinum member who travels a lot: high-quality finishes, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, and a design that feels intentional and premium. Even better, despite being in the heart of Charlotte, the rooms are exceptionally quiet -- no street noise at all, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when traveling. Overall, the JW Marriott Charlotte fully hits the mark of what I expect from the brand -- consistent, detailed, and elevated. Highly recommended.

No one from the hotel reads or care about these reviews, but here it goes for the consumer's knowledge. In addition to my other review, I have a new experience. We left a phone charger and adapter plugged into our first room (our bad). When we returned to the hotel a few days later, we asked if they found it. They couldn't get in touch with the lost and found people to see if it was located. Instead, they gave me a website to log in to and report it lost. I told them we were flying out and couldn't come back to get it. They informed me they would ship it. Well, sure enough, I received notification that they found it. The kicker is, they wanted $45-$133 dollars to ship it. Are you serious? The lady made it seem like they would ship it for free. No way in Hell I'm paying to have a silly phone cord mailed to me. The hotel staff here needs serious updated customer service training. The one person at the hotel I would give 5 stars to is, May. May was wonderful. I hope May reads this and feels proud of herself.

One of my favorite hotels to do my staycation. Deans is good not my favorite steak house in the city but the bar scene is always energetic on the weekend. I wish the pool was larger but it is what it is. The breakfast in the lounge is awesome and having the light snacks in the evening good as well. Finally shoutout to front desk staff for honoring elite status and providing room upgrade even for one night stays.

Stay was super nice. Parking is a nightmare. It's only valet. Valet parking is $48 but it is in and out unlimited. Rooms are beautiful and so is the rooftop bar. Located 2 blocks from the Bank of America Stadium.

This is the answer to ... we keep getting skipped and we need more towels

So many better options in this city. Paid for executive lounge access which was a joke. Food was subpar...no bar/alcohol. Hotel is adjacent to Nascar Hall of Fame so all you hear is the revving of engines all day every day. Housekeeping was a zero. Had to ask for towels every day bc we kept getting skipped. Don't post many reviews but feel like i should warn y'all

Nice looking hotel. Valet was confusing. A lot of guys standing around.. and later we understood the hotel was having a huge conference, but they could of been more helpful. Barely got directions to elevator, elevator was a little tricky. All in all it was a nice stay just started off a little hectic

From the moment we met the valet to hanging out in Dean's steakhouse we never needed to leave property. We did find super special attention at the roof rooftop bar. Special acknowledgment to Jared, JP and Mellissa. It's almost like we had our own tour guides and can't wait to come back to this beautiful city.

The JW lived up to the high expectations we had for it. Comfy room, great views, cool showers (decent water pressure), several restaurants on site, roof top pool, etc. We stayed for a night on points and were upgraded to a nice room. It's a great location where you can walk to all of uptown Charlotte.

It's a beautiful hotel inside. Very modern interior design and the room I'm staying at is kept very keep and accommodates all my needs, especially a fridge that actually is cold. I've been to so many hotels where the fridge wasn't properly working or was unable to keep my foods cold. Staying on the 5th floor, I had to scan my room key to gain access and there is a security guard posted by the door all night; I'd say security is pretty good here and allows guests to feel safe. The mini mart located near the front desk sells a wide variety of snacks and drinks, including alcohol beverages till 2am. They also provide complimentary breakfast starting 6am and the menu choices were great! My only complain is how small the parking lot is, but there are two spots for Diamond Elite members and a Tesla charging spot. They need to enforce it so non EV vehicles can't park there because I've seen non EVs parked there taking up valuable charging time from EVs. Really enjoying my stay here and definitely would be the hotel of choice if I'm back in the area. If you're a IHG member, definitely should be a must to spend your time here.

I was asked by Elon Law to teach a night class in Charlotte and they graciously got me a hotel at the Hilton in downtown Charlotte. Sounded great and I was excited... And then I arrived. Let's see.... There was a long line at the reception and it took quite a while till I got to the front of line to be helped. Then I was told that the rooms would not be available for 2 hours even though it was already 2 hours beyond the check-in time. No accommodation for that mishap other than the offer to leave my bags and wander around. This was awful because I had to teach in an hour! Thank God they did find a room that was ready and so I asked where I could park the car and I almost had a heart attack when she told me it was $35 to park my car. Are you freaking kidding me? The room itself was close to $200. Seriously? I don't know why I asked the next question, although I knew what the answer would be as I timidly asked, "Does this include breakfast?" Of course it doesn't. And if you want a piece of toast and a cup of coffee, that's going to cost you close to $20. This place is a freaking rip-off! I greed to pay the damn $35 and was told that if I park on the fourth floor there is a walkway right into the hotel with my room key. So I parked the car where she said and went to the door and kept swiping and swiping and swiping and could not get in. Finally, I called downstairs and they sent somebody up to let me in to only discover that they share the parking lot and access with the Hampton inn. Incredibly confusing. That's why my key did not work. So I had to take all of my stuff back down to the lobby again and find my way to the Hilton elevator. By the time that nightmare was solved, that was the end of my shower and resting and it was time to leave for teaching I came back after teaching quite hungry but I was not about to spend $150 for an M&M peanut that was for sale in the lobby. I went back to my room, had a bottle of water to only discover that they want $2. Do me a favor Hilton inn. Next time just charge us $1,000 for the night and let it include breakfast and parking. Again, I am very appreciative of Elon University putting me up for the night but next time I'm going to see if they can put me in another place. Maybe a place that charges a normal price, is not terribly confusing and actually includes breakfast and parking for the exorbitant fee. There's a second chapter to this review. and It truly proves that good customer service can mean everything! So as I was checking out the following morning, the woman at the registration named Ebony asked me the infamous, "How was your stay?" And my reply was, "Do you want the polite response or the real response?" with which she replied, "The real response, absolutely!" So I began to tell her how my room wasn't ready and I was going to have to wait 2 hours. I told her how the woman at the registration desk did not offer me anything for that delay other than I could leave my bags behind the counter. I told her how they finally found me a room but told me nothing about the Hilton gold honors I was entitled to. I told her how confusing it was in the garage to find the right way to the hotel. I told her how horrified I was about the $35 parking fee. Ebony was so sympathetic to my frustration and determined to give me top customer service, that she did not charge me for the parking and gave me a Hilton Gold perk I was entitled to and got a beautiful breakfast to go. Ebony turned everything around for me. I got a delicious omelet with wheat toast, made a hot cup of coffee, got into my car with a new attitude and traveled back to Greensboro. I still think the hotel charges too much, should not be charging for parking, should be offering a breakfast for that price and should explain how to navigate the parking lot since the dual hotels sharing the same garage. But, they also have Ebony who knows how to treat a customer! Thank you Ebony! And Hilton... Get your act together!!!

Staff is a 12 out of 10. Valet super nice and helpful, check in and front desk staff always efficient and a delight to deal with same for housekeepers or any other staff we met along the way. This is the only hotel I have stayed at in the States that I think their bathroom is about comparable to ours at home. There is a separate space for the commode which offers some nice privacy if 2 are sharing the room. Housekeepers were adorable they placed out toiletries on emerald green cloths on the counter I truly believe the prettiest place in Charlotte to see the sun rise is at the indoor pool and spa area. It is gorgeous. Love that the pool area is more spa pool vibes with spa music. Hot tub is turned on by a button panel on the wall. Inside the hot tub there is a place to turn up or down the intensity of the jets. The hot tub has pretty colors in it from the underwater lighting. There is a great array of seating without feeling crowded. Meticulously cleaned. Like any time of day the indoor pool space was clean. I do like what they use instead of chlorine it was more gentle on my hair and skin. TV is a bit below average. Streaming speed is pretty slow. Limited on which streaming services that can be accessed. Additionally, the volume jumps a lot like the tv can be unable to be heard you turn the volume up and it is good. Then a second later it is super loud. Spouse said most modern tvs have an auto feature that manages this. But this is on Marriott and not the hotel as with some research it showed this is a pretty common issue most folks have about the tvs. We are buying a Roku stick to try and use in the future to access other streaming services we pay for at home. The beds are better than other hotels in the Marriott family but spouse and I still find them a bit uncomfortable. I would like to have them a more memory foam material than the spring with pillow top. Wardrobe was awesome it is a nice size. Lights up when the doors are opened and has a pretty floral scape along the back of it. I was able to keep my carry on sized suitcase in there. Spouse was able to hand my dress and his sports coat and pants for event we were going to. Room had plenty of counter space in the room and bathroom. This was great. Oddly there seemed to be drums that started playing outside at like 9am on Saturday that woke us both up. There was a wedding going on that weekend and I know they had some breakfasts not sure if there was maybe a morning ceremony too? Noise didn't last super long but woke us both up. The windows you can hear a fair amount of noise through from the street. Ordered room service I think 3 times. Very excellent experience each and every time. Each item was cooked perfectly and things like grilled chicken breast were still juicy and not overcooked. My K Lounge review will be separate from hotel but same 5/5. We enjoyed our stay. Staff and overall care of the hotel cleanliness wise made it even better.

It came with a fully stocked fridge and full bar but I would have preferred a regular microwave and mini fridge for me to use for my own items. They did supply bottles or cartons of water and the bell hoppers were top notch coming and going. I like how the toilet area was separate from the bathroom space. Unfortunately the linen has that usual industrial smell which is why I travel with my own comfort as you can see from the pic. One annoying thing was the length of time it took for the water to get hot. If you don't have cash to tip, they provide a QR code in the room to tip those that helped you during your stay. While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

So I decided to give Courtyard a shot and it wasn't the best experience. Bottom line, if you're in…read moreneed of some rest and relaxation, I HIGHLY suggest choose a different hotel. First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck

My only complaint was the coffee shop hours. It closed at like 2 and I came by around 4 and unable to get a coffee without leaving the hotel. Definitely not a deal breaker though. There are a ton of nice restaurants around the hotel.

After the surprise of finding brown water coming out of both the shower and sink, I was informed…read morethat the hotel had shut off the water earlier that morning and that discoloration can occur when service is restored. My issue is not that a maintenance problem happened--these things occur. My issue is how it was handled. First, guests should be informed at check-in when there is a known issue that may result in brown water coming from the faucets. It was quite a shock when my sister stepped into the shower and immediately had to jump back to avoid a stream of brown water. Second, staff should be checking affected rooms before guests arrive. Running the water for a couple of minutes cleared it up. Had housekeeping done that beforehand, guests never would have encountered the problem in the first place. Or so I thought... What was most frustrating was the inconsistent information. When I went to the front desk, believing I might need a different room, I was told the issue affected the entire hotel. The employee agreed it was unpleasant and said someone would be sent to address it. However, the staff member who later came to the room told me it was only affecting a few rooms. So which was it? I was also told the discoloration only lasted a few seconds, but then advised to run the water for several minutes "just to be safe." Again, I understand that maintenance issues happen. What matters is communication and transparency. A simple notice at check-in and a quick room check before guests arrived would have prevented a lot of concern. Update!!! So we ran it for triple the amount told the night before and then ran it again in the morning before getting in. Well I get into the shower because it's clear and then two minutes in it became brown again!!!! So the brown water got on me and in my hair - gross. Everything online says don't bathe or drink the water when it is discolored so I quickly hopped out and had to wait for it to clear up again. I asked for another room if ours is still having issues and was told to wait until an engineer came to take a look. Update 2: They decided to move us rooms and while they are making sure the other room is good they are giving us breakfast.
