Bryant was courteous, professional, and he really went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. Our wedding location was not a destination, but it was at least an hour drive for the majority of our guests, and even longer for Bryant. However, that did not stop him from traveling to the location a few weeks before the wedding in order to scout it out to see where to get the best shots, see what the light would be like on the day since we were outdoors, and plan his course of action. On the day he was avid and interested. He made sure he knew the shots we especially wanted and who we especially wanted pictures with/of. As I'm sure every bride can attest, the wait for wedding photos is agony. Not so with Bryant. At least, the agony was lessened because he was weeks ahead of when I thought we'd get our pictures. Bryant had our album edited and to us in 11 days. He got some wonderful shots that I didn't even think to ask for and the candids were great. His prices are extremely good. I checked out numerous websites based on suggestions from friends and lists on wedding planning sites. I saw a lot of beautiful work, but very little that fit into both our budget and our low-key, garden party wedding. (Yes, we were planning one of the most important days of our life, but spending $5K on photos at what was basically a big picnic seemed exorbitant.) My cousin, who was hosting the reception, suggested Sherry at My Eye! Photography in Algonac, MI. Sherry handled her daughter's senior photos in the spring of 2010, which were delightful. I had been impressed with the photos because they were beautiful and simple, and had truly captured my little cousin's spirit. Some of them were even shot in the reception location, so I knew she was familiar with the setting. After checking out the My Eye! site, I contacted Sherry. She was personable and offered a prompt and very reasonable contract. I hired her without hesitation. We chatted a couple of times in the month leading up to the wedding, mainly via email. Even though I didn't actually meet her until I the day of the big event, I felt complete confidence that she understood and would deliver exactly what we were looking for in our photos. She did! She was wonderful to work with - I never felt pressured or directed - and she had a great sense of humor. The posed shots look natural and the candids are almost alive. Her contract is a bit vague but it seems any time I've asked her a question she's been curt. She answered yes to an A or B question email then got curt when I asked for clarification. She makes you choose a location for the couples shoot yourself without much guidance or help, and it's meant to be done right before the wedding starts as if you don't have enough to do then. I do not recommend at all.
