Where do I start? I had a very serious, traumatic car accident a couple of weeks ago. The car was not drivable, so it needed to be towed to yard. JYD Towing showed up right away and towed it to their yard. I came a few days later to pick up my plates and my belongings out of the car. I signed my vehicle over to State Farm insurance company. To say the least, State Farm has made this whole situation more of a disaster than it already was to begin with. They were continuously back-and-forth with Ray (JYD business owner) and myself, and just not getting the car picked up and towed to their lot to be assessed and valued. The car is more than likely totaled. But through this whole awful experience, because of State Farm, Ray was beyond kind, compassionate, and helpful. I cannot thank him more. He was/is a godsend! Most people look at Tow Truck drivers and automatically hate them because the nature of their work. It's a tough business to be in, I'm sure, but he does it with grace and empathy. If anyone is ever in a situation where they need a tow truck, there is no doubt in my mind and I urge anybody and everybody to call JYD Towing. I really appreciate JYD towing. Great communication with my wife, sister and I. Always available when I called him and helped me out with our situation of financial, fixIng our car and gReat advice about avoiding certain situations when it comes to cars and insurance. I see there's nothing but bad reviews here but homeboy was there for me 100%. For the one wHo wrote a post saying he took forever to come tow a car- he's a busy man with many situations to deal with. My car was repossessed from this company on behalf of my bank due to my overdue payments. JYD Towing assisted me in the process of telling me what I'd need to do to get my property and vehicle back. After I paid my bank, my paperwork was sent to JYD and I was given an appointment to pick up my car. It was a fast process! I'm only giving 1 star because I know it's a difficult job to have. Think of this 1 star as a pity star. I am a very professional woman and I recognize that operating a tow yard puts you in the path of many negative circumstances. I had my car repossessed for the first time. I am not familiar with the process of redeeming your vehicle. Each telephone encounter I had was a bit hostile. I had to turn in my keys and was told that they close at 2pm so I arrived at 12. When I called to ask how to get in, they said no one was there and I can leave the keys under the door. I had things to get out of my car so I decided to wait and I let them know that. I waited an hour and 45mins for someone to arrive so that I can turn in my keys. When he arrived, a woman that was inside the ENTIRE time opened up the door. I brushed it off because I just wanted to peacefully get my things and go home. The next day, I made my payment and called the bank to confirm that they sent over the paperwork. At around 1pm I called JYD to ask questions about the nexts steps. The bank was very vague so I thought I'd get the information directly from the company I need to get my car back from. The first call, in the middle of me talking, the man started talking to someone else in the background and hung up on me. Still keeping my cool, I called back because I need this information and I told them I was ready to get my car. I was basically being brushed off during the conversation. I wanted to know the estimated costs to get my car out because I was gathering the money. Of course I didn't get an answer. After the bank confirmed that the paperwork had been sent, I went to JYD and the guy was standing out front of the yard. As I walked up, I started to tell him that I was there to get my vehicle. He looks at me and says, " what vehicle" and then proceeds to say there is no paperwork available for that car. At this point I'm confused because my bank just told me that everything was sent over. Once again, this is the first time I'm going through this process. So I'm trying to get clarity and now I have questions. This guy is not the best to try to communicate with. He talking over me, cutting me off and not trying to listen. That means everything he is saying is pointless because he's not even listening to my questions in order to help gain clarity. Part of me wanted to call the precinct but I just walked away. He told me that I'm not getting my vehicle that day and that I have to get someone else to come pick up my car because he doesn't want me to come back. And that means that new paperwork would have to be done all over. I left and called about an hour later and my appointment was set for the next day. I arrived about 10-15mins early and proceeded to walk inside. He comes running out yelling at me and my friend telling us we have to wait outside. I walked away because at this point I couldn't deal with him without exploding. My friend asked him what does he want us to do and where are we supposed to wait if we came to get my car. This man is saying everything else but answering the question and then my friend called him a little bitch because he said he was going to call the police for trespassing and that I will not be getting my car today. He called the police and when they arrived, they already knew what was going on because they said they are called there multiple times for the same thing. I ended up getting my car but it took police presence to do so. This man runs his mouth and if you say the slightest thing back to him, he gets emotional and doesn't want to deal with you. I'm surprised he felt that he had to call the police on us. I'm not one of those typical customers that acts entitled and expects superb customer service. I just wanted to get my car peacefully. From day one, this man has had an attitude. It took a lot out of me to hold my composure. I read all the reviews before showing up but decided to form my own opinion. Nothing negative posted was a lie. I'm not even one to write reviews but with the respect that I've given this man while he was being so disrespectful, I can't believe that this is the outcome. read more

I called because someone was blocking my driveway. The car had already been ticketed, I called JYD to remove the car. The dispatcher gave me an ETA of 20-25 minutes. 2 hrs and 15 calls later the driver shows up to my house which is 1.1 miles away. Please do not utilize this company if your situation requires urgency of any kind. read more

Looks like I'm not the only person who was treated badly at this place of business. This place does not appreciate its customers at all. I went to this place to pick up my car which was towed and was almost hit by the tow truck driver which was looking down in his truck and not paying attention. I had to basically hop to get out of the way as he smashed on his brakes. He then looked up at me and said, "You came in the wrong way!" I looked at him and smiled saying, "How about, are you okay?" He then kicked me out of the place and told me to come in the correct way. The funniest part is, he made me leave the same way I came in. Once, I was outside, he made me wait 15 minutes in 35 degree weather. There were no other customers there. After waiting, my friend and I were allowed to enter. Once, we came inside, the tow truck driver said my friend had to leave because only one person was allowed at a time, even though the employee that let us in had no problem with the two of us. He then started clapping his hands and stomping his feet laughing. After my friend had to leave, I presented all the correct paperwork, yet he said he was going to give me my car but now he changed his mind. He believed he had the right to keep my car. I had to call the police out. Once the police came, I bet I got my car back. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Whether, I came in the wrong door or not, I did not deserve to be treated with such disgust. I should've asked him why didn't he beep or tell me I was coming in the wrong way if he saw me initially. Places like this need to be boycotted or should not be in business, that is why I am taking the time to write this review. Anyone in the Jamaica Queens area be aware of this business and their customer service ratings. I just recently moved here from California and I do not accept disrespect from anyone including NY tow truck drivers with big egos, so big they can't apologize for almost hitting someone. I HONESTLY WISH I COULD PICK NO STARS AT ALL. I AM SO DISGUSTED WITH THIS PLACE!! I have high tolerance with patience but the way the little short man was treating people is beyond nasty. He had a mother with a infant and a toddler waiting outside in the 90 degree weather, two elder people who had to pay their cab extra just to stay with them so they don't have to stand in the heat and then there was me and my mother in law. Remind u I was there because my car got into a accident the night before and I was transferring it to get fixed at the shop. The worker was so rude he kept closing the door on people, he nearly hurt my hand by how fast he was ready to shut the door on me... then he made a rude comment to my mother in law by saying that she couldn't afford to the job he does. Like hello? Towing? U don't even know what my mother in law or I do for a living.. and that's how u treat people after the fact they just been in a accident. My 4 year old was rushed to the hospital due to that accident so I was not in the mood to deal with pigs. This place is literally the worst place ever, they literally have 0 customer service skills. When you call the number, it's directed to a "dispatcher" who apparently cannot help you at all. You request, a manager or a method of speaking to a manger, he provides you with several excuses as to why you cannot speak with them. The service says 24/7 availability, but they close prior to 3:30? Leaving you no way to find out the status of your car, the person who towed it, where exactly it was towed (because as per John they tow so many, but won't allow you give any credentials for him to find anything out), or just general information on how the insurance company could reach them. When asked if we could leave a message, I was sarcastically told that he'd make sure they'd get a answering machine just for me and was hung up on. Definitely wouldn't recommend this company, because as soon as they saw my boyfriends car they automatically came out and said they are going to scrap his car. As if they were the ones to make that decision. So they left us in a state of complete distrust. Don't choose them for a company, they might try to make decisions without you. read more
