First store in the list did not carry my tire size - for a Mazda Miata - and told me about Main Street (or possibly the super store 20 miles back the way I had come), which happened to be the next store on the list. Main Street normally carries my size but did not have one in stock. HOWEVER, the store owner said he would be glad to call around and try to find one for me and would call me back. I immediately said yes. He called in a few minutes and said he found one and could have it to the store and on my car within 2 hours. That worked for me. And true to his word I was back on the road two hours later. Came to find out he called his wife to go to another town and pick up the tire, actually two because we agreed after looking at the other three that one had cracking along the edge, another blowout in the making. During check-in, the technician struggled to open the coolant cap, and I saw the internal spring fly off. Despite that, he proceeded to refill and close it. Another technician then attempted the oil change but could not remove the existing oil filter. Even though they brought out a new filter, they did not replace it and told me it "wasn't dirty," which is unacceptable for a basic oil change service. The very next morning, my daughter was driving when the car displayed a warning: engine overheating -- stop immediately. We had to pull over and then carefully drive back to the same location. The manager acknowledged that the coolant cap was broken and said they would fix it, but the issue was not resolved. We then took the vehicle to an Audi dealership, where they confirmed the coolant cap was broken and not properly tightened. This caused a loss of pressure, coolant overflow, and damage to other components. We are now facing a repair bill of $1,311.88 for the coolant tank and related parts. What has been even more disappointing is the complete lack of accountability and follow-up from Valvoline. I filed a claim through their customer service line and was promised a callback by March 23rd. Since then, we have called multiple times on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th, and each time we were promised a callback at a specific time. The area manager has not called us back even once. We even had the Audi service manager personally call Valvoline to explain the situation and confirm the cause of damage, yet we are still being ignored. Meanwhile, we have been without a car for several days, with no resolution, no communication, and no accountability. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable from a company of this scale. I specifically called ahead to confirm they could service an Audi Q5 and was assured they had experience -- clearly that was not the case. At this point, I am requesting immediate contact from the Valvoline area manager or higher-level corporate representative to resolve this claim and reimburse the damages caused.
