Love this place! If you are pre-natal or post-natal or no natal this place is so lovely. Started going for pre-natal massages as I had some trouble finding a place that knew what they were doing in that area. I was a bit more picky as any expecting mom would be with her body. The massage therapists here know their stuff, they know the right props to use the right positioning and they are so receptive of what the client wants. I ended up coming here for a bunch of different ailments that pregnancy started bringing on. I went for chiropractor and physiotherapy as well. Each served its purpose in helping me along my journey of feeling good. The studio is well kept and nice, the only issue is if you are driving there isn't a lot of parking spaces available. Would highly recommend to any woman on any journey they are on to go here. They are so welcoming and their services are great. They know their stuff! read more

I love this place don't get me wrong, but I must say I'm a little disappointed of late. The classes are packed and worst of all, not enough equipment for the number of people you have in each class! As a new Mom who have to really make it work in order to go to the Barre class today, I'm disappointed that weighted balls are being substituted with tennis balls. What they should have done is a) don't allow so many people in the class if you don't have equipment for it or b) if you have time to buy a bag of tennis balls as substitutes you have time to buy the actual weights! Toronto Yoga Mamas has been a godsend to me during my pregnancy and has really helped with the aches and pains I've been experiencing. I came across their studio when looking for prenatal activities in the Leslieville area and decided to go with their yoga offerings as I liked their schedule and format - you can book as many or as few classes as you'd like in any time slot/day of week vs. other places that restrict you to a fixed number of weeks at a fixed time. Their online scheduling system is excellent as are their class offerings and their pricing structure. The studio itself is beautiful, very zen, and they provide everything you could possibly need to be comfortable during class (mats, water, props, blankets, etc.). I also appreciate that postures change from week to week to prevent boredom and that each instructor offers a slightly different style to their class - I find Meg's classes to be a bit more relaxing/meditative and Jamie's to be a bit more of a physical challenge (in a good way). With one instructor trained as a doula and another pregnant herself, they really understand the physical changes women's bodies undergo during pregnancy and provide modifications to each pose to suit individual comfort levels. They also offer a lot of specialty workshops (e.g., baby bump photo sessions, hypobirthing seminars, infant CPR, etc.) and post-natal/family yoga classes. One last thing I'd like to mention - you can really tell that the owner, Jamie, cares about and is dedicated to her clients and her business. This is my home away from home. Seriously, I am at this studio almost every single day. Why? Because it is the first studio that ever made me feel like family (you know how the yogis are always talking about that?). The classes are warm and fun and wonderful and the instructors are all great. Plus they have free tea! And the class packages are totally reasonable. Honestly, TYM saved me during pregnancy. I was so sad to know that my prenatal journey was over.. until I tried the baby classes. My LO and I have a great time every time we go and she is so peaceful afterwards. Plus it is a no pressure zone. You are encouraged to take it easy, or just chill and breastfeed... to do whatever you need to do to have some peace in that hour. And EVERYTHING is there for you. You don't have to worry about lugging anything more than your belly or your baby which is a bonus. I've been going to Yoga Mama since I was 26 weeks pregnant and I'm 33 weeks right now and still try to attend regularly. I first bought the mama pass just to try the yoga classes out. I wanted a class to stretch my back and limbs out to help with the aches and pain that stems from carrying the extra weight and I absolutely love it here. My favourite instructors are definitely Joana, Anastasia and Rhonda. Joana kicks my butt every time I go to her class, it's active and if you want a challenge then she's your go to girl. I absolutely love her classes but she only teaches on Monday and Wednesday nights and sometimes it's a bit too late for me. Anastasia is absolutely wonderful with a beautiful soul, her practises always centre and calms me. Rhonda is very encouraging and amazing and her classes always relaxes me. All the instructors are truly great and all have such different teaching methods, these 3 just happens to be my personal favourites. I love the receptionists. I think it's a requirement for everyone to be super sweet and awesome. Janet, Jill and Jena have always made me feel super welcomed and have told me about the different services yoga mama provides. It isn't only a place to do yoga but it's a one stop shop for everything a woman can possible need as she goes through her pregnancy journey. I'm currently doing chiropractor with Crystal, whose absolutely amazing and patient. I love it when she gets deep in there and do all the necessary adjustments. I especially love the cracks on the shoulders, neck and back. It's super safe for baby and I feel instant relief from the tightness I feel. I adore Madeleine. She's my prenatal massage therapist. I love deep and strong massages and she isn't afraid to really get in there and unknot me and trust me.. I have a lot of tightness and knots. I played a lot of competitive sports pre pregnancy and I work on my feet so my body is always in constant movement and pain. I've done a prenatal massage before at another place and the lady was scared to massage me deeply in fear of hurting me and the baby.. so I'm very happy that Madeleine knows what to do and she does it very well. Lamiya is my pelvic floor physiotherapist. At first, I was not going to try her out because I wasn't really sure what it was she did, and didn't think I would need it. After my prenatal instructor told me that all pregnant women should see a pelvic floor physiotherapist and hearing some other mamas rave about it, I decided to book an appointment to try it out. I believe Janet recommended her at the front desk... and I absolutely love it! Lamiya was super professional, she assessed me internally and taught me things about my pelvic floor that I didn't even know was an issue. She gives me exercises and homework so I can strengthen (apparently I wasn't doing kegels properly) and I was peeing way too often which wasn't a good thing. She help me adjust that as well. Anyways, bottom line, I love her and recommended her to all my pregnant friends and non pregnant friends. My fiancé and I are seeing her again when I'm 35 weeks so she can teach him the perineal massage to help with labour. I tried acupuncture here at yoga mama with Heather and she was super sweet. I just wasn't sure what the needles were suppose to alleviate and I wanted to try it just to try it. I don't think acupuncture is for me because I'm the type that likes to feel results right away but I hear other mamas raving about how much it has helped them with their pain and aches. So I guess maybe it's just not for me. I'm glad I live on the east side and can utiliZe everything yoga mama has to offer. I just wished they had evening classes on Friday-Sunday because I'm unable to attend the morning classes. I've spoken to a few mamas and they also wished there were more evening classes for yoga.. so maybe something to consider for the future? I also wished there were more evening appointments for prenatal massages on the weekend. I work 5-6 days a week during the day and never have a weekend off and would just love it if I was able to book an evening appointment on a Sunday night to de stress and recharge. From the moment that I spoke to the receptionists over the phone to inquire more information, I knew that I wouldn't be disappointed coming here. The ladies over the phone were so friendly and helpful. This studio offers not just yoga but also pilates and barre classes so you get the variety. They offer classes where you can bring your baby in to exercise with you as well. They also offer free prenatal workshops and other services such as chiropractic and physiotherapy. I'm just at the end of a 9 month unlimited membership. Yogamamas has been a home away from home and a massive source of support for me throughout my pregnancy. All of the staff, instructors and wellness providers are excellent and super friendly. Their resources are fantastic including their courses and workshops. I've taken practically every workout class, seen massage therapists, a chiro, acupuncturist and physio, and attending their weekend childbirth, infant cpr and numerous workshops. I have been very pleased with the quality and value of everything. I first joined this magical studio last Summer at the very start of my second trimester for prenatal classes and now for Mama/Baby yoga. It has truly become my favorite place to be (other than home), I was and still am blown away for so many reasons. For starters, every single staff member from the front desk sweethearts, massage therapists (MELANIE - INCREDIBLE!), the many amazing Instructors and of course Jamie, the Founder and Director are all exceptional. So warm, so helpful, so knowledgeable, so everything. As far as the actual Studio - stunning, bright and always pristine. I have seriously never seen a speck of dust in this place! Jamie and her staff have truly thought of everything to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. It's the little things that count. From the gorgeous hand soaps and lotions in the washrooms to the fresh lemon water and hot David's tea before class, to the gorgeous Mama and Baby shops (always filled with little gems), to the Karma book library, to the array of classes and class times. Good yoga instructors, always enjoy the sessions there. They're not great with tracking payments though, three times after a session I was asked to pay even though I had already. Fortunately, I had receipts each time to show them. I also think they should put down soft tiles on the floor for the babies leaning to sit. We know they topple over a lot at that stage and in this studio, the floors are concrete. They have small rugs for them, but it's not enough padding on the hard floors for the wee ones. read more

I started to go to Toronto Yoga Mamas since I was in my second trimester. The studio is extremely clean and relaxing. I always looked forward to coming to each class as I always left more relaxed and rejuvenated. They provide all the equipment so you can literally arrive after a busy day. Jamie's prenatal yoga class was my favourite. Unlike other prenatal classes, Jamie teaches a well rounded class that includes strength, stretch and relaxation. It was important to me to continue with safe strength training during pregnancy. I also needed a really good stretch. I got both in her classes; whereas many prenatal yoga classes only focus on the stretching aspect of yoga. She also cultivates a warm environment in which new mamas can talk about their progress in pregnancy. I left her yoga classes feeling like I did my bodyand my baby good. read more
