The animals have appropriate accommodations and I recently was interested in adopting a cat or two and was able to meet several. Wish I could take them all. They also work with the Lawrence Humane Society which is another great place. I encourage the public to consider making online donations to help this place as they run on public funding. As a former volunteer and having worked in the animal care field for over 17 years, these jobs are hard work. Being able to provide vet care, food, bedding, etc for many animals in need isn't easy. The staff I dealt with in their adoption center were wonderful. Come here to find your next fur-ever friend.

my first service dog was nearing end of life. he wouldn't stop try to work until his last days. we…read morehad gotten Austin, English Cream Golden Retriever at 5 weeks when Amos was still alive Austin began minmicking many things he was doing as a service dog. at 6 months old we signed contracts and they took Austin for a little over 2 months as I was recovering from double knee replacement. He then began his service dog training, fine tuning . we took him several times a week and paid extra for that. we had asked before hand what all the costs would be so we knew in advance it wasn't going to be cheap. we knew anything as good aa the training Austin was going to receive was worth every penny! Austin is the most amazing dog and performs his service dog training 100% of the time in vest or out of service dog vest. He wakes me up at night if my blood sugar is low. I have severe hypoglycemia , he is also traimed as mobility dog and for anxiety and stress. He went through over 300 hours of training and graduated, 7 months after starting his training with Tim and Anna. They provide excellent training and have agility courses if you want your dog trained for that. there's is diabetic alert dog teaching, snake avoidance training , all service dog training programs as well as if you are just wanting basic obedience for your dog. Anna also does grooming so we still go for grooming every month. you will get nothing but the very best training for the tristate area!

Where we live. The owner was a no call no show from the beginning, and no apology in being so, despite this being followed by a bite to another dog by a different dog of mine. Sending Robin to train was unnecessary and a knee jerk reaction. After his unprofessional inactions, I lost that beloved 3 year old dog. Robin lost 15 pounds in 30 days while at that facility. She was never bathed yet allowed to walk around in a feces covered yard. Even her ears were dirty. I wonder if this is where the parasite she came down with came from?? It cost 3400.00, and I had to provide all of her food. Not sure where it went since she lost a pound every 2 days. And the owner treated me with contempt and rudeness Katya seems to know her stuff, but could learn something from the phrase: teach, dont preach. It was a total waste of money, and I still lost a dog, which shouldnt have happened. This place will never get another dime of my money, and really should return it.

He must have had the time of his life. The next week I dropped him off for a stay while I was on a work trip. I saw him running around every day on the cameras and it looked like he was having a blast even though he was by far the smallest dog of the bunch. After I picked him up he's like a whole new, even better dog. He was always sweet, friendly, and cuddly, but leery of other people and dogs - just shy. Now he's so well socialized he isn't phased by others. I won't hesitate to bring him back for a play day or an overnight stay. Loved getting my digital pupdate, although I was irritated the buggy Gingr app downloaded the same photo like 10 times when I tried to download them all. I felt like the staff was caring and communicative. They did a great job on his nail trim and he came home smelling great.

He trains dogs full-time, giving them a 6 day a week on hands training. Rain or shine, he is consistent. Even better, he is located conviently in Silver Lake. Every week he gave a report of Rufus's progress along with video updates seen on his Facebook page. Every 2 weeks, owners also got an on hands training in dog handling to better transition our home. If you met Rufus, you know he was a social and friendly puppy. He liked to jump on my daughter and walk under my feet causing tripping. This training has already changed our lives. Rufus is now kennel trained and mostly house broke. No more jumping on Josie, and now I can walk without falling. 2 months is the recommended time for his Obedience Training Program. Yikes. I'm a…read morenonprofit animal rescue curator and veterinary professional. I decided to take two of our adoptables in for a bath after they swam at Shawnee Lake. I asked up front if there was a rescue discount and was informed that there isn't. Of course, just after paying for the baths, the prompt on Petco's credit card machine read: would you like to help us save animals? Well, Petco. Would YOU like to help ME save animals? Come on now. The bath station was atrocious. Hair all over the floor, hair all in the tubs and drains. Hair covered the walls and steps, as well. Suffice it to say, no one had bothered cleaning and it looked like at least 3 customers had come through with dense and longer coated dogs, like Labs. The tubs hadn't even been rinsed. There were muddy paw prints leading up the steps ‍ The shampoo dispenser is laughable. There is a note on the wall stating that the machine is "trying her best". Look, y'all have shampoo bottles for sale on the floor if you can't afford to get a machine fixed. I let the machine run for 10 mins while I deshed my largest dog. Still no soap, I tasted the water. As such, my dogs left there smelling like pond water instead of shampoo. And, yes, I tried both the shampoo and puppy shampoo options. At best, this is a place to RINSE your dogs, not bathe them. I also found that there were no nail trimmers. I asked the help desk and was told they don't stock them for use. So, if you're looking to rinse your dog indoors instead of just hosing them off outdoors, this is the place for you. If you're looking to actually be supplied with soap, conditioner, nail trimmers, sizeable towels and a clean station, try any place but this one.

I had so much difficulty trying to find a groomer that he liked in Topeka. When Tori found out that he was food motivated and a big lover she knew just what to do. Oscar loved her his first visit and when he knew where we were going every time after that he got so excited. Tori is a definite dog person and my dogs know it. She is pleasant to talk with, she is a kind person and it shows with every dog I see her with. She takes the time to get to know each individual dog and she treats them like her own. She is very knowledgeable and extremely experienced. Her pricing is fair and she really cares. I wouldn't trust any other person with my fur babies.
