**One star - Do not waste your time or money here** I have had two alterations done by this lady on work pants and she failed to understand what was being asked of her. She was told to make my pants look like a reference pair I brought to her and she assumed all she had to do was alter the hemline, which did not need any changes. Then she was asked at a later time to patch the crotch for two of my favorite jeans and she put stiff stick on patches which she sewed on top, making the area extremely uncomfortable and stiff. When I told her that she did a subpar job, she got offended, didn't charge me and sent me on my way, directly or with the help of her son or husband, it's hard to tell, who also has a crappy attitude. My suggestion is: fix your own or take it somewhere else. This place is a rip-off and a scam. Do not trust this lady with your clothes. She does not care about your satisfaction or quality. She only cares about making money off of you. Stay away from k&a alterations and find a better service elsewhere. read more

Service is prolonged, expensive, and incomplete. I asked K&A to patch some jeans for me as well as repair a belt loop and mend a hole in a shirt. The patches in the jeans stand out like a sore thumb due to the color of the stitching used. The belt loop was never repaired, though thankfully I was not billed for it. The repair work done on the shirt was actually really well done and was largely invisible, which is why I didn't rate any lower. read more

I had a bridesmaid dress I needed altered. When I went for my initial appointment I didn't have my shoes yet that I was going to be wearing with the dress. Instead of getting annoyed or upset, she went ahead and pinned the alterations needed on the top of the dress and told me to let her know when the shoes came in. I went for a second appointment for her to pin where it needed hemmed, and about 2 weeks later everything was finished and it fit perfectly!! Please note they take cash or check only! I got a pair of jeans altered here and their work is amazing! As well as they doing a great job they were also very quick, I brought them in on January 26th they told me they would be done February 16th and I got a call on February 1st that they were done so I was very happy with that! Kalina works her magic and suddenly, I look better in all my clothes. Her alterations don't break the bank, and she's pretty honest with her guidance on whether a piece might not be worth the work and cost. She has hemmed many pairs of pants and jeans, including fixing the original hem another tailor messed up. She has altered dresses and jackets, and she has coached me to pass on extensive alterations for online purchases that just didn't work for me. I highly recommend her and her services! read more

Kalina Shipman is the owner and dressmaker and has done excellent work for us for about 3 years. She has done hemming, zipper replacements, intricate tailoring on a prom dress, a ski jacket, and a men's suit, and does beautiful work. She is efficient with very fair pricing for her work. She is great with her customers and is very upbeat and cheerful. The only "complaint" I can think of is that she goes on vacation for about 3 weeks in January, so you have to catch her before or after that. I highly recommend her for excellent work every time. read more
