We used their services to repair a recall issue on our washer and to fix our dryer. A few weeks later we had another issue that was completely unrelated to the original dryer issue. It took several days to get the parts and for the technician to return to complete the fix (we are in Spearfish). Our washer goes out so we give this place a call to see if they can help, they schedule us an appointment for August 27th. The following is a rough sequence of events and the terrible customer service we received. 8/27 We were supposed to get a call at 8am to tell us when the repair guy was supposed to come out. It was 9:15 with no notification so we called them. They answered and told us the estimated time was 2-4pm (not a big deal, we had plans later in the afternoon). 4 o'clock rolls around and he still hasn't shown up nor have we recieved a call stating he would be late. So we called them again at 4:05 to check and he says he's running about 30 minutes late. (A little irritated, but not to big a deal). He finally shows up and he takes a look at the washer saying that the fabric softener clogged the drain tube (first time I've ever heard of that but, ok) and that it is a motherboard issue. He tells us it is fixed and should work temporarily until we decide to order the part. They charge us $85 for 10-15min of work. We test the machine and it still doesn't work. We call them back and they schedule a secondary appointment for August 31st. 8/31 They call us about 9am to say that there is nothing they can do but order the part. At this point we are like okay just order the part. We asked if we could be refunded the $85 because he came and did nothing to our machine and it still had the same problem as before we called. They gave us some bullshit about how the experience was not how we made it seem, that the $90 was for a insurance charge if we got the part installed and broke within a 90 day period. We decided to not order the part and still wanted our money back (Would have accepted a little less due to gas usage and time) all they did was yell back at us and said that there was nothing they could do. 100% NEVER using this place again with their bullshit customer service. read more

2 stars because they showed up for an appointment on time..and they had the decency to call me back after I complained about my experience. Beyond that I can not recommend this business. Poor customer service, overpriced service call, lack of training to phone staff who takes calls. Had I known I was going to wait a full week and pay $85 for a 5 minute diagnosis of my dryer's condition I would have gone elsewhere! read more

Prompt service and reasonably priced. They were able to send a tech within a couple of days (not an emergency). Jason (tech), was friendly and knowledgeable. Had to order some parts, but got a call a couple of days later and they were in. Scheduled right after the holiday weekend. Jason came back, and got the issue fixed within minutes. My 6 year old refrigerator broke at the end July. Called K & D and they couldn't come for 2 weeks. When they came, they took 2 min diagnosing it and then ordered parts. For the next 3 months, Samsung called me weekly saying they shipped the ice maker and wanted to know if K&D had done the work, but when I called K&D they couldn't tell me when the parts would arrive or even where they were in the order process. Each time I called K&D they had no idea what was going on or where my parts were. After getting the run around for 3 months they said they had the parts to fix the frig but not the ice maker. When the tech arrived, it turns out he still only had half the parts and again they couldn't tell me when the remaining part would arrive. In the meantime, Samsung dismissed K&D as a service provider (they were frustrated too) and I received a call from Owens Interstate Sales out of Sturgis. They said he had the parts and could come out in 2 days. They showed up at the time scheduled time, not a 4-hour time range like K&D, fixed the frig in an hour and billed me$102. I then cancelled the repair with K&D, and they preceded to send me a bill for $415. I wish I would've never called K&D. K&D is the most incompetent and overpriced service company I've dealt with. Owens on the other hand were amazing and charged a fair price. read more
