During the on-site tour, he was kind, respectful and professional (the house was older and not in good shape). The day after I received a quote for the job that was very reasonable and I scheduled an appointment for the clean out. JDog's crew (Bryan, Jesse, Alexis and Michael) arrived a few minutes before the appointed and got right into the job (attic, house, cellar, garage). Took them 8 hours and 4 truckloads, plus much sweeping afterwards. I never would have been able to clear out this estate without them. In December. If I had not gone over to check the work, the pipes might have frozen. To top it all off, a piece of furniture that I explicitly told them not to remove, was thrown out. Pros: The company was communicative the entire time, and prompt on arrival. The junk removal itself was well done, and the apartment left in decent condition on their exit. Cons: Misleading pricing, VERY far off estimates. When Zach arrived and we did the walkthrough, we went through everything that needed to be done. He gave me the estimate of 2 guys for "2 hours tops". The final tally (for day 1) ended up being 2 guys for 4-5 hours + 2 guys for 3 hours. Day 2 was 3 guys for an additional 2 hours. In follow up communications, he tried to spin it as 'saving me money'. Going from 2 guys ~2 hours to ~3-4 guys for ~6-7 hours is misleading. There was a heavy stove found in the basement that added a complication, but not to the tune of ~2x the labor for 3-4x the time. Additionally, there is a sliding scale on pricing for truck bed space. I've worked with several junk companies before for jobs -- no one else I've worked with has ever had that pricing structure. When you tell someone that a full truck load of junk costs $1150, they would expect it to be $287.50 per quarter. Not some sliding scale 'bulk discount on junk truck space'. This is the sort of thing you would expect from some megacorp with hidden fees and unclear pricing. I will not be doing business with this company again, and cannot recommend anyone else to do the same.
