Wow! The customer service is AWFUL! Honestly it was the worst experience I've ever had. Amy V. Is really bad at her job and incredibly rude. She assumed I would know that she was not an agent who could sign my application. I checked the box for an agent to sign, instead of letting me know she couldn't sign it to process it. She did nothing, waited weeks until I called back and talked to another rep. to see what was going on and why I haven't heard anything. She then... sent an email saying I had to sign it, still not giving a reason for why she couldn't, or telling me she wasn't an agent. I was annoyed but printed it out, signed it, and sent it to her. She did not check her emails for days. When I finally got a hold of her after many calls and emails with no response... SHE YELLED AT ME! I was trying to ask her to check her email and explain I had signed the app. But she yelled over me repeating that she was not an agent and couldn't sign it. First I heard of it was when she yelled it at me...I couldn't even get a word in over her, and asked to talk to a manager. She then said "Oh, you sure can" in a snarky voice and hung up on me! I had to call back at least 25 times (no one answers the phones!) to get the manager Stacy to help me. She was apologetic and said she would talk to Amy, but did give an excuse for her. After having to jump through hoops to pay, I still waited 2 days for my receipt and paperwork to be emailed to me, and I had to call again to get that done. I almost had my classes cancelled because they took so long and didn't communicate. I would not recommend them, or use them again after this year. I might also get other insurance just in case. (After reading the horror stories on the Better Business Buero reviews, it seems they don't pay out many of the claims, and are only a secondary insurance!) Beware!!! read more

I had an incident @ VASA Fitness. Reported the claim. This insurance companies has me with the 4th claim representative now. It has been since Jan. of 2020 nothing has been accomplished. The communication is very bad. This company should be reported to the insurance commissioner. Staff may be friendly but no action on the consumers behalf. They drag it out so they do not have to pay claims. Guess that's good if you use them to insure you/company. But as for the consumer its horrible. I was referred to K&K Insurance to cover my liability insurance as a Pole Dance Fitness Instructor. I got on the phone with someone (I think her name is Marie) at K&K. I said that I teach pole dancing and she asked for me to distinguish if it is pole DANCE or FITNESS? I said that it is pole dancing for fitness purposes. She then rudely said "Why did you call it DANCE??" I replied that I teach choreographed dances in my class, therefore, it is in fact a form of dance. She went on to ask me what I wear during class and said that I will need to wear gym shoes in order for it to be called pole fitness. I have NEVER seen any pole classes that wear gym shoes ... how are you supposed to grip the pole when you climb? How do you articulate your feet?? This representative then went on to tell me that they need to make a perfect distinction of pole dance and pole fitness for their own liability so if I am teaching any kind of "sexy" or "seductive" dance then it is pole dancing. Sexiness is completely subjective! Pole dancing is a certain form of dance that can be considered sexy no matter how it is done. All pole classes teach a sense of sensuality that is part of this art form. She insinuated that I might teach pole class to students who are exotic dancers?? This completely caught me off guard on how ignorant this woman was to the sport of pole dancing, especially since her company advertises that they cover pole instructors. I have been a trained dancer since I was 3 years old in ballet, modern, and Chinese folk dance. More recently, I started to learn pole dancing and became a certified pole dance instructor so that I can safely and properly teach pole dance to students that want to learn this form of dance for FITNESS purposes. I have to say that I am qualified to understand that I do in fact teach a style of dance, but I teach it so that my students can be more active, fit, and stronger. This company obviously knows NOTHING about the sport of pole dancing. Don't say that you cover something that you don't understand and are not willing to understand! This representative was judgmental and ignorant. Not impressed at all. I needed to get a quote for a one-day race track rental which was months away. I had done this in the past with others no problem. They asked me for info, which I sent them. Then they asked me for more info, which I sent them. Then they asked for more info and told me to re-engage with them a few weeks before the event (non-starter for me). I explained I just needed a rough quote. Then a manager jumped on the email thread to tell me to look at other quotes I had gotten. Basically, they blew me off. If they thought the risk profile was too high, they should have just told me that. But blowing me off is unprofessional. Oddly enough, one of the reasons I chose this company was its history of car racing, specifically in the days of Charger Daytonas and *Road Runner Superbirds*. Gotta love the styling and the horn. Another main reason I took up their insurance was being able to add additional insureds at no extra fee. A charge of even just $20 each starts to add up when you're working or independent contracting at five or six locations, not to mention when some places operate under more than one entity thus requiring even more additional insureds. The price of additional certificates competes with the price of the insurance itself. But with K & K, I add whomever I need to add and get the documentation right away in PDFs that I can print or email to my places of work. I learned of this company several years ago via recommendation from a person who had been insured by them for many years. It's the first insurance I signed up with as a professional. I've never seriously injured anyone (thank goodness), so I've never actually dealt with a person from K & K. But the interactions I've had with the website have been streamlined and stress-free, which is precisely what I want. read more

Just bought a full policy including coverage for my gym's equipment and structural improvements. Was able to fill out the application, get a quote, and purchase my policy online. I didn't talk to a single person, did everything on my own time, was able to have all my questions answered by the FAQs on their websites, and purchase my policy. I can't ask for a smoother experience for a Martial Arts studio. Will definitely continue using K&K to insure my Jiu Jitsu gym in western Washington. read more

I work for Amazon, and since we pride ourselves on being the most customer-service oriented company in the world, I was so completely appalled at the treatment I received at K&K Insurance. You should be appreciating your customers and WANTING my business, not yelling at me and hanging up the phone when I am trying to get my questions answered. I called initially and was greeted by THE RUDEST customer service rep on earth. She told me I needed to fill the form out online, and when I told her I had some questions, she fired back at me and told me she couldn't help me and I needed to do it online. I asked her if she could fill out the form and help me, and she finally said "FINE" and was just snarking at me the entire time. I finally told her I would just do it online again. Once I filled out the form, I got an error message telling me I needed tocontact customer service and purchase it over the phone. I called back and was greeted with the same person. I requested from K&K a quote for general liability and property insurance on a 240 square feet garage space that the lessor required under the lease for the space. They sent me a quote for almost $1,200 for the policy. Since the annual cost of the lease was only $5,000, the premium was on the high side of quotes I received from other carriers and I noticed that the quote included a lot of "additional coverages" that I don't need, I sent them an email with the following question "Is there a way to reduce the premium by getting rid of unnecessary coverage? For example, I don't need any of the coverages listed under Summary of Additional Coverages." They replied to my question with the following: "Our carrier has minimum premiums on both policies. Since our quote is not acceptable to you, we will go ahead and close our file." I was considering just accepting the quote but I am glad I didn't. I was referred to K&K by my insurance agent. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with them and I strongly suggest that you don't waste your time or money on these clowns. I spent over four weeks going back and forth with K&K's inept underwriters on the phone and via emails trying to get standard liability insurance for my karate school. The underwriters I dealt with are completely clueless! I spoke with a Nicole Wolf and she told me one thing, the next day I get another underwriter and she provides me with conflicting information to the other underwriter. In the end, they rejected my application stating they "thought I wasn't a martial arts school" and they don't cover those types of operations. I'm not sure what their definition is for a martial arts school, but I'm an officially chartered karate school, am a certified master instructor, have a DBA, have registered karate students, teach traditional karate, handle all billings and rent space where I teach the classes. After wasting weeks of time with trying to get a policy, I then spent another month trying to get my money back! I actually ended up having to go to my credit card company to get the charges reversed! If this is any indication on how they do business just trying to secure insurance with them, I can't even imagine what they must be like when you have file a claim with them!! I ended up getting comprehensive liability insurance with better rates and broader coverage and it only took 15 minutes online to complete the application and 48 hours to be approved. When we had to file a claim, they non-renewed us due to "adverse-loss ratio", even though we ended up paying the full amount of the loss ourselves as it was less than the $5000 deductible. Highlights: K and K is difficult to work with; they try to swindle their way out of paying claims; the process took too long and too much effort; the amount of active diligence on my part to get what I was owed was huge While they are not my insurance carrier, my son broke his arm at a facility they insure. The broken arm happened in April 2014. It is January 2015 and I still have not been reimbursed for all of my expenses. It took longer than the "30 days from the date of completed items received" for me to receive payment. They asked me for the same information, over and over again. More than once, I was told they already paid me for a claim, which they had not. Claims on the same day, but for different expenses seem to confuse them. K and K employees, with whom I dealt, had a difficult time understanding the difference between a doctor bill, a bill for an x-ray and a bill for medical supplies. When I submitted my 2nd claim which was for less than the first claim, I was told, "We have already paid you $$$, which is more than what you are asking for now". Well, yes, but they have to reimburse me for ALL of my claims, not just the first one, even if the first one is more expensive. Also, they were so late on paying what they owed to the Doctors. I received many "LAST NOTICE" bills from the doctor and repeated calls from the Doctor's billing office requesting payment. How embarrassing to some one who is never late on bills. Frustrating. The number of phone calls, faxes, emails over 8 months to get K and K to do their job is unacceptable. If you have the choice, do not choose this company. read more

We have been with K and K for 6 years and initially thought they were a great company. That is, initially. I have gradually learned that you can not get a single straight answer from them. Every time I call, I get a different answer so basically I have to either read the 83 page policy or believe whatever spews from the reps mouth on the phone. As a martial arts school, people come and go. If I am insured for 50 people and one person quits, I was always given the impression that I would be covered for 50 people no matter who they are. So if one new student signs up, they should be covered and the other student that quit is no longer covered. Well, today, I had a rude awakening. The underwriter tells me that every student that enrolls has to have a policy to cover them. So.....let me get this straight....for all the people that came to class to "try it out for month or so" then quits needs to have a policy cover them for as long as I am in business???!!!! If this is truly how the policy is written then BUYER BEWARE. Furthermore, she was also not able to tell me the statute of limitations on claims. Is a person that claims that they were injured at our school able to come back...say 5 years later and say we injured them and try to get their injuries compensated for? And now I question, will K and K even cover it??? Since opening, we have had so many people come and go and now she tells me that I am supposed to pay for each and every person that quits and keep their coverage for how long??? No answer. Daughter was a college athlete and this is the insurance the college has in place for injuries that happen if it is sports related. They are not my primary insurance. My experience - Daughter's injury happened in Nov 2014 Don't call on Thurs or Friday because they are "processing claims"! It's June of 2015 and we still have several claims that have not been paid! Whose claims are they processing? Paid some PT claims, but before they pay anymore they need her "medical records" What?!! I was the "go-between", between the service providers and K&K? They can't talk to each other? Slow processing the claims - several times I got "we will put you into collections" from the service providers because no payment was made. Constant run around - wasted and continue to waste a lot of time and energy on getting these claims paid. Don't receive emails....so I was told. ?? Sure would be nice to send them an email with the info they need before they will pay a claim. Would speed the process up. The cheer program at my daughter's school required that we purchase the $10 insurance coverage offered through K & K Insurance, even if the child was covered under another insurance plan. It figured, my daughter fell from a stunt during the time we had a lapse in insurance, so I filed a claim with K & K for her urgent care visit. What a nightmare! Long, looong story short, after 7 months of back and forth with this company, they finally paid $50 of a $250 bill. A bill that according to their policy paper work should have been paid in full. But after wasting countless hours dealing with them over 7 months, I was too tired and aggravated to start the appeal process, which I get the feeling is their game all along.
