I first thought it was wallpaper made to look like Life magazine pages, but some pages seemed to be peeling. I don't mind reading hemorrhoid ads from the 60's while drinking my beer per se, just an observation. The furniture was mismatched like estate sale items picked up from people who wanted to think they were high class in the 1960's. You could probably still smell Lucky Stripes every time you sat on the seat cushions. There was no music playing and there were only 6 or 7 (don't you dare do that 6-7 thing with your hands while reading this!) other people inside. So, I had to listen to this pretentious group talking about opera, the child welfare system and other topics while their noses were up and pinkies were out. There was an older guy on the opposite end of the room that seemed to be loudly mocking them. He thanked me for coming as I was leaving.... was he the owner? LOL. I ordered my standard flight from a very nice lady that seemed to be new. I got 2 IPA's (Mongoose Slayer and Striker IPA) that were solid, a Black Venom stout that was ok and a Belgian Quad (Medusa) that I wasn't fond of. There are no food options, but I assume there are food trucks from time to time. The outdoor area has a few games and tables and a more normal atmosphere. If they had some music to drown out Lilith and Frasier, I'd go back and give them a try.

Trying to find out if their food cart was still there bc that's like the best part of their brewery. They had pretty decent fish n chips, pizza and sides that complemented their beer selection.

The restaurant is on the third floor of the building and is a light and bright restaurant. You can order at the counter or take a seat at a table and order from scanning the QR code. We ordered at the counter and took a seat by the large windows to watch the planes. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken Benedict and the chicken had spice but not too spicy for my high spice standards and had really good flavor. Star of the show was the hollandaise sauce but unfortunately poached egg yolk was cooked through but lots of hollandaise made up for that. My sister ordered the lobster Benedict - wow- the lobster tasted like it was braised in butter and her yolk was runny on the poached eggs so perfect dish! Kids meals we got were the hamburger and penne pasta and both were great size portions. Usually I worry with kids eat free they're tiny meals but definitely filled our ravenous boys up. And the fries were thin and crispy, delish!! So impressed by the food I want to make my way through the menu. Highly recommend

Just a…read morequick note for anyone interested: the offer is one free kids' meal with the purchase of an adult entrée. The restaurant itself is situated on the third floor and offers a really nice view overlooking the runway and hangars. My kids absolutely loved watching the planes while they ate, and honestly, the view was one of the highlights of our visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the setting this time around. The kids ordered the cheesy penne pasta, but it wasn't their favorite. Some of the pasta pieces were a bit hard, and because the dish wasn't served very warm, the sauce had become thicker and stiffer than we would have preferred. I ordered the steak frites and requested my steak medium, but it arrived well done. Under different circumstances, I probably would have asked for it to be remade. However, the wait for our food had already been fairly lengthy, so I decided to keep it as is. What truly stood out during our visit was our server, Sophia. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. More importantly, she maintained such a positive attitude that she kept smiles on our faces despite some of the issues with the food. Great service can make a big difference, and Sophia definitely deserves recognition for that. Overall, while the food wasn't quite what we had hoped for on this visit, the unique views and excellent service made for a pleasant enough experience. I'd be open to giving them another try in the future, especially for the atmosphere.

I've had…read morethis place on my radar for awhile as I am a huge fan of visiting breweries everywhere I go. Come to find out days before our trip that Southern Star has decided to shut down at the end of June. Sad to see one of Texas' oldest breweries closing down. I had to get here before they did because their beers are great. It's right off 45 and easy to find tucked away off a side road. The grounds are beautiful as well as the building itself. The inside taproom isn't large but the building itself is so I'm wondering they have more hangout spaces. They also have a nice deck where a lot of people were hanging out. Customer service was great. Most everyone in our crew got a flight so we could try a few things. Prices here are excellent and won't break the bank. That's what I love most about breweries. I went with the Strawberry Blonde, Southern Brunch (citrus shandy), Texas Lager, and Pit Stop (cherry cider). I really enjoyed them all especially the Southern Brunch. My friends ordered some apps for the table such as fried pickles, fried mushrooms and waffle fries. They came out piping hot and were all tasty. I saw some pizzas leaving the kitchen and they looked excellent. They also had deals on whole cases of beer for 20 bucks. Killer deal that my friend took advantage of. Sad to see this place is closing. Great breweries are a dying breed from what I have read. If these places weren't so far I would support them more. I wish everyone in the company well and hopefully see them come back in the future.

Brewery #386 This…read morewas my 5th and final brewery of the day (no worries, I spaced them out, so my senses were still intact.....I think). Southern Space was down a tree lined road kind of in the woods in a very nice space. I didn't get to see what the outside area was like (If there was one) but I did see they had a large front porch to hang out at. We got here around 8 or 9 pm and I ordered my usual flight. The place was happening; country music was playing which is not to my taste but at least it wasn't quiet. My flight consisted of a Bombshell Blonde, a Bombshell Hefeweizen, Bombshell Smash IPA, and a Valkyrie (DIPA). Why isn't this place just called Bombshell brewing? Anyway. The beers were all decent but nothing that wow'd me. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably have been the Hefe. They had a kitchen onsite serving up burgers, pizzas and all the fried apps that places usually do. Unfortunately, we had already eaten so I can't really report on that.
