We had KB put in a new hot water heater, they did not install it level so condensate kept putting the pilot light out. I called several times and the rude service technician first claimed I was not running the faucet for long enough (excuse me?) then after refusing to service the brand new tank he accused me of being lonely and wanting a serviceman to keep me company. I have never had a company behave so rudely or unprofessionally. The owner got involved and after my husband advised they installed it unlevel, they balanced it and it started working properly. We just had a plumbing inspector in on a different project and he advised us that KB had not followed code and had installed two different metal lines so they were touching and they would need to be separated or they would corrode. We are KB heating regular customer. we got a bad experience with the customer service on October 28. I called for service to check a furnace in our rental property. Just trying to arrange the time to make sure someone is available when technician comes. The receptionist who answered my call, was asking if someone would be available to make the payment. I was saying we were regular customers when work is done we will pay. She literally yelled and hung up on me, when my husband tried to talk she hung up on him. I called and spoke with manager he tried to defend her that she put us on hold. Which was not the case. If that was she could have asked to please hold. When you put someone on hold you will ask. In the meantime, we arranged with another heating company to look at the furnace and their receptionist cordially talk with my husband, arranged the time to go to site and the problem was fixed. They know who we are and didn't ask to pay on the spot. When their invoice is delivered, we will make the payment in due time. This morning October 29, their service man left a message on mine and my husband's phone to arrange time to go and fix the furnace. I told him that the furnace was fixed yesterday. i have four of issues: If the receptionist was too busy, she should have been given assistance. did she ask for? If the customer is telling the receptionist that she is a repeat customer, why would the receptionist insist on having someone on site to pay the bill on spot?; When the receptionist is overwhelmed with call, was she trained what to do? The manager didn't handle the complain professionally; He needs training how to handle complaints by any customer. He failed. Companies invest tons of money on advertising to attract clients. A company that is not caring for their repeat and reputable customer, I believe there's a problem! KB Heating and Plumbing owes us an apology should it cares to keep a repeat customer. KB heating came to do a routine furnace and duct cleaning. He said it would take 2 1/2 hours. I left house and said I would return but I arrived back unexpectedly early only to find his girlfriend there with him.. asked her to leave. the fellow doing the work for KB could not get the furnace pilot light lit. He was trying to light it with a lighter instead of a longer BBQ lighter. I just told him I wanted the furnace working as it was before.. I immediately went down to KB and talked to Gerard,a manager of some sort. He wanted to send someone over to fix but I did not feel comfortable allowing them in the house again so I turned to a more reliable Hvac person to see what the problem was. So $283.00 to KB for the duct cleaning and another 866.00 to the other fellow to get the furnace running. I will never,ever recommend them. Another example of a Senior getting ripped off. read more

6 years ago we had Kb come in purchased new furnace air conditioning, gas fireplace, furnace in our garage and gas line on our back porch H for bbq. Spent 20k. Just had them come in for a quote to tap into gas line to place a stove on that wall. They want to charge 3 times the price we paid for all that work we had done 6 years ago. Only to run a 10 foot max pipe! They lost our future business. Too bad their business practice and their lack of loyalty has changed for the worst. Will never refer people there again. read more

Look elsewhere for your HVAC needs. KB Heating installed an under-sized our furnace (1200 cfm 3 ton) at the time of build (2005) unbeknownst to us or the Builder, but I'm sure it was profitable for them, esp since they didnt waste labour installing it properly nor the power humidifier, nor cleaning the system after install. Our AC unit was a 3.5 T, which initially froze because a bat of insulation was laying on the coil and probably blowing fibreglass all over the house. Fast forward to 2021 and AC dies and KB was basically the only dealer with components during the pandemic. Problems from day one with condensor valve leaking, then repaired wrong, then finally fixed, then in 2022 coil starts to act up and we get ghosted for the first time. Finally someone responds and techs try some things (most of the techs r great BTW), but issues arise in 2023 with freezing and/or not producing cold air. This time, they remove the 3.5 ton coil and replace with a 3 ton, which later on I hear from multiple other HVAC companies and experts that this is a big no-no to have a 3.5 ton unit mis-matched with a 3 ton coil on the furnace. This 'fix' didn't work anyway as it froze up and we are limping it along. Jamie from KB told me I needed a 3.5 T coil put back in and I was adamant they do so. But, they are refusing to put the 3.5T coil that we bought and paid for because they want me to give them $8K for a new 2000 cfm furnace so the air flow is solved. I insisted I want the 3.5 ton coil installed and then I'll go ahead with the furnace at a later date in the fall. Was told on two more queries he was looking into it and then stopped replying and ghosted me for a 2nd time in July , 2023. So, here we are, and I guess I need to put in a warranty claim to get my Carrier 3.5 ton coil back, or lawyer up and ask the courts to help settle this for me. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. Had an issue with my furnace clicking and banging. It tried a few times to fire and would finally go. Called KB to see what was wrong. They say the drain was plugged and the impeller fan had failed due to that. They replaced the fan and failed to repair the root issue. Shortly after the "repair" the furnace was acting the exact same way. I took the drain off the impeller fan to find it's completely filled with water again. I come to find out through my partner at this time that the technician was also rude to her during the repair process. I called KB to complain about all this above to be told they would not give me any of the costs back as a gesture of good will. I am completely capable of the repairs myself but have been gone due to work until now. I don't need them to come and fix their failure to complete an easy repair like this. I just went ahead and repaired it myself. Do not recommend them at all. read more

18 months ago my furnace fan died. I called KB which charged me $150.00 to tell me my furnace was too pld and they would never find parts for it. Being it was March and cold I told them to replace it. Well it constantly blew cold air. They sent someone to check it, and assured me it was just the air in the vents that was cooled and now moving. Had to set thermostat at 25 to feel warm. Then came summer. Ac not working. Again service was sent, he spent 5 to 6 hours fixing it. According to him the furnace was hooked up as a single (furnace only)not a double(furnace/AC) thank God it was their mistake as I am sure I couldn't afford the bill that was racking up. They covered the costs. Being a senior I was tired and hunger and asked if he ould come back and finish fixing it. He said he only had to fix the fan so it would blow cool air in summer, nothing to do with ac . I told him I don't use it so now I guess it will cost to fix. Still have the same problem with cold air never feeling warm air. Have sent them a email and never heard from them. Not very happy with this company. I will not recommend them to anyone read more

had a tech come out in 2009, he spent 5 hours trying to figure out how the insert (that the company had installed) worked to get into where the thermocouple was, couldn't do it, came back the next day (after going so far as to read the instruction book) and after he had it fixed in fifteen minutes he presented us with a bill to account for all six hours he worked on it. When we complained, we were given a list of other people to call. Flash forward to 2014, the thermocouple gives out again. It was five years later so I called them back, booked the appointment, and then remembered the last performance, I called to cancel, explaining what had happened and I canceled with the office lady, who wanted me to speak with the business manager. He put me on hold, hung up, and then called back basically to say that "he had no problems" with me cancelling, as though I'd been asking permission to do so. I was told he'd apologize and explain their services more clearly, but nope. They also charge a 20 dollar vehicle fee on top of their fairly typical rate that most companies do not charge. read more
