I ordered 12 scoops of 3/4 gravel from Empire on August 17, 2026 for a customer's job -- $468…read morematerial, $40.24 tax, $95 delivery, $603.24 total. It was delivered August 21. The material did not cover the area. I sized the order using Empire's own calculator on their website: 48 x 18 ft at 3 inches returns 864 sq ft and a recommended 8.80 cubic yards. Their product page also lists 80 sq ft per scoop, which works out to that same 3-inch depth. On August 27 I emailed asking for three things: the scale ticket for the load, the trailer dimensions and number of trips, and an itemized receipt. I asked again on August 29. I never received a weight ticket or any document showing how much material actually left their yard. Empire replied once saying the quote was figured at 2 inches, then stopped responding. My customer ended up buying 7 additional tons elsewhere to finish the job. I had bought from Empire before without any problem, which is why I came back. If you buy here, ask for a weight ticket at delivery and don't leave without it.
