DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM----Over approximately 16 months, I paid this firm $70k in legal fees, not including professionals they recommended & needed, including an accountant, bringing me to nearly $100k. After all of that, my divorce is still not resolved & I am being held hostage by the circumstances of my divorce. I hired this firm because of Dean Kantaras. Dean presented himself very strongly during the consultation, but after I retained the firm, my case was immediately & largely handled by associates. During those 16 months, I went through 6 different associates. The firm has a revolving door with associates. There was no clear timeline or plan for how my goals would be accomplished or my case brought to resolution. The turnover was incredibly disruptive. Each transition meant another attorney becoming familiar with an already complicated case, & mistakes, delays & lack of continuity cost me additional time & loads of money. The billing was relentless. Employees have billable-time expectations & in my experience, my retainer & repeated thousands of dollars in replenishments were depleted without tangible progress remotely proportional to what I was spending so they can bill time. What disturbed me most was what happened before important events. When I specifically requested Dean--the attorney I believed I had hired--for a significant hearing, mediation or critical event, I was told substantial additional replenishments were required for him to participate. If I didn't pay thousands that day or the next, I would get the associate instead. After the problems I had already experienced with associates's mistakes, I felt I had very little choice. In my opinion, this felt like blackmail. When your children, home, finances & future are involved, you are extraordinarily vulnerable. What finally destroyed my confidence involved what should have been the resolution of my case. My ex & I worked out an agreement. I notified Dean on Thursday. Dean called & gave me the plan: send everything Friday morning so the agreement could be drafted & signed Friday. Friday came & went without it being completed. It was pushed to Monday. With every delay, I worried the agreement would unravel--& my ex's demands did begin changing, which will cost me thousands in my final settlement. Monday arrived for the settlement conference. Despite my communications requesting the agreement to review, it was not ready. Opposing showed up, everyone prepared to review & sign, but the document wasn't ready. Dean himself rescheduled the conference for the following day. The next day, everyone showed up & Dean did not appear. I received no advance explanation & even his staff appeared unaware he wasn't coming. This was supposed to finalize my settlement. Everyone showed & he did not. The settlement was canceled. When I expressed how upset I was, instead of the accountability I expected, Dean stated it was my fault & put it back onto me--even though I had followed the timeline & instructions he gave me. During this same period, I discovered through billing that work had been performed relating to a lien on my home, something I had not expected or understood was being pursued in that manner. I was also billed by multiple people for settlement conferences where either the contract wasn't ready or Dean simply didn't show. Eventually, I instructed the firm to cease all work, yet I continued receiving billing afterward. This experience has been financially & emotionally exhausting. Family-law clients are making decisions during one of the most vulnerable periods of their lives. Before hiring this firm, know what my experience was, understand how much it can cost & read the other reviews. Nearly $100k spent including related professionals, $70k to this firm, six associates, 16 months & my divorce is still unresolved. Lia Comeau, an associate attorney, represents a Slimy Doctor who has already been arrested for 2 DUI's, and is actively working with Dean Kantaras' law firm, who continues to violate the rights of innocent patients and people who have filled their prescriptions at ( Publix, Walgreens and CVS,) by abusing their attorney License, to access PHI and violate state and Federal HIPPA laws. They continue to send out subpoenas to the these pharmacies to access the names of people, the names of their prescriptions, address, and number of refills, and then PUBLISH it openly to the county websites, to further their cause of a bully they represent in a divorce case. The current Judge already admonished Lia Comeau for doing this the first time around, and then she has done it again! There should be a class action lawsuit, for unethically acquiring intimate and deeply personal information, so they can keep lining their pockets! The names of people who receive treatment and then require medication, is a very personal matter, and NOONE should have their PHI (Private Health Information) violated. Every subpoena they send out, is a threat and a violation to anyone that gets medical care, and their civil rights. They are being reported to the Department of health and Human Services for violating the civil rights of innocent people, but they continue to perpetuate and promulgate the information they receive to anyone that "accidentally" or purposefully receives the email string. The behavior of this firm and Lia Comeau, especially is disgusting and reprehensible. This firm should be shut down and exposed for what it really is! Shameful and repugnant. The entire Tampa Bay area should be on high alert, in case their PHI is exposed by this Hell hole! the attorneys here deserve sanctions and serious jail time! read more

All that is dark and shady in the attorney community rests within these wall offices of hell. Dean kantaras and his associate Lia Comeau, continuously violate the Standard Procedures of Law, and violate every code of ethics to continue dragging out their family law case, even if it means destroying both petitioner and respondent's bank accounts, with false promises, and motions that are unnecessary and frivolous. Their attorneys are overly and overtly litigious, and represent the sociopaths, drunk drivers and mendacious characters that are willing to shell out of hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep the court case tied up for months that turn into years. They use and abuse their attorney privilege to violate HIPPA, and PHI from acquiring innocent people's prescription information and disseminating it via public pinellas county clerk portal, even after being chastized by the family court judges, for egregious behavior that is cited as "INTENTIONAL!" They continue to lie by omission, and promulgate their intentional acquisition and dissemination of people's intimate information via internet, email, text ect. Please stay away from this UNETHICAL FIRM! Both Dean Kantaras and his associate, Lia Comeau, have committed multiple acts of attorney malpractice. They both have worked as co counsel representing my former husband, and unethically and illegally acquired innocent client's private HPI and prescriptions through Publix, and published them on a public website, without redacting their names and personal information. It is disgusting and apalling they think THEY are above the law, and they take on clients that they bilk for hundreds of thousands of dollars, to keep filing multiple motions and NEVER settling a divorce case. They have both been reported to the Florida BAR for Unethical and illegal behaviors that did NOT follow the Standard Laws of Prodedure. They will drag out any case, as long as they can continue to BILL far it, and violate HIPP!A, just to try and win their case. They didn't. They are shameful and their firm is despicable read more
