Today I had a virtual interior design consultation with K. Jillian Designs and it was amazing!! It is hard to imagine doing something so personal to your space and life virtually - but I have to say that K. made it super easy. In this trying time where myself and others are 100% at home, we ended our call with me feeling empowered, excited and confident that I could make realistic, creative and fun updates that will make my apartment a more livable and enjoyable space. Here's a quick recap of how things went. To prepare, I sent her inspirational pictures of my style aesthetic and photos of my home. We started with a virtual walk-through - coming through my front door - and then a tour of my entire apartment. Then we moved on to talking about each room/space individually and what her ideas were in terms of updating; adding pieces; removing pieces; rearranging what exists, etc. As a part of this I broke out my tape measure, which to be honest isn't something I do - ha-, to get an idea of what could fit where. These are the things I most appreciated about our time together: K. made me feel in control of my space. That there were many ways, beyond anything I'd ever imagined, to do both small and bigger things to make the space that I have work better for me. K. made my budget work for me. She asked me great questions and gave me recommendations that will be actionable now, while taking into consideration that I'm a renter so anything we did would need to be not permanent. K. brought all of her recommendations to life by sending me photos while we talked to help me understand looks and context. K. was open to my ideas as well. She had a wonderful way of being open and considerate of my thoughts and when and where they could be incorporated into the overall vision and/or where something else may work better - she was always right on! K. made me feel like I have a partner through this. I will do the shopping/assembling on my own but she gave me a wonderful road map to get there and we will plan other check-ins to check my progress. I couldn't have asked for a better virtual consultation and I'm looking forward to the results. I already feel better simply knowing what is possible! Thank you again K. Keysha of KJilliandesigns has an unique eye and talent for designing and decorating all types of spaces. I've used her services on two occasions. One on a relatively modern home a few years ago and recently on a 109 year old home listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. I had the opportunity to see some of the more modern homes and spaces she designed and knew she would do a great job. The historical home, quite honestly, I didn't know what to expect. She came in at a time (soon after purchase) with the house in total disarray and little done in terms of renovation. There was wall paper hanging from walls, plaster from ceilings, and paint peeling as the home had been vacant for years. In a relatively short time frame, she worked out a design scheme which included paint colors, window treatments, and shopped for both furniture and accessories. She made herself available and offered guidance through phone consults and swapping of photos. The results turned out great! The home feels warm and inviting and has a perfect transitional feel with some modern touches while maintaining the home's historical character. I used K. Jillian Designs' services to decorate my 5500+ sq. ft. home, including the entire buildout design of my basement. In a nutshell, working with Keysha was a wonderful experience! There are more than a few superlatives that I can use to describe K-Jillian Design. Professional, efficient, and smart! If I only said that; that should be enough for anyone to hire this company. When I tell you the owner took a blank canvas and turned my 1100 sq feet condo into a luxury sanctuary and I am not over-stating. The amazing part about it; we ordered only a few pieces online so I was stressing because I was told it would only take 2 days to complete the entire project. Of course I was thinking to myself "how in the world would this lady be able to pull this off" But guess what? She did more than I could of ever wish or want for. I love my condo from the paint, to the custom curtains, all the furniture she selected and of course she stayed on budget. When I reached out to Keysha, I really had no idea what to expect from a consultation. I knew that while the big furniture I had was in the right place, my new house was lacking the oomph that would bring everything together into one cohesive space and would really make a statement. She came in for a consultation and immediately I knew that this the right choice. She quickly launched into the details that I never knew I needed, from being able to change a space, just by making small changes like replacing the picture frames and adding a statement wall. I was unable, due to my lack of sophistication, to give much guidance to the wonderful Keisha as she designed my first adult living space. I chose a few pieces of furniture, and Keisha built the rest of the home around those pieces.
