Kavena is a master at color and highlights! She is very honest about what she can do to your hair. You tell her what you are looking for and she may say it will take a couple of visits to get it where you want it to be. Like Platinum. I appreciate her honesty. She is very attentive and doesn't rush you out. She is very professional and has wonderful products you can purchase for your specific hair needs. I like the fact that she has her own studio - it's quiet, you can enjoy a conversation with her, and you have her undivided attention without distraction. I've been living in Rockford since "06" and I've had nothing but bad experiences with the hair stylist here...I did have one stylist do my hair that turned out good but her salon closed down...I am soooooo happy I came to Kavena!!!! I asked her for her opinion and she gave me what i wanted and more!!!!! Its very hard to find a stylist who can get my bangs right and Kavena got it got it got it!!!! I was in Rockford for the wedding of my eldest step daughter. The bride and bridesmaids were from out of town, so we searched Yelp for a hair salon and luckily found Kavena! She did a beautiful job on all three girls with braids and curls and long thick hair. I made all of the arrangements via email and she was very responsive. She completed all three updos in less time than estimated. Kavena was sweet, professional, and very accommodating. If you are looking for a hair stylist in the Rockford area, check her out. Took a chance on Kavena after salons started reopening in June. I am so glad I came across her Yelp page because she is hands-down the most attentive, professional, helpful, and kind stylist I've had (and I've had a lot). Kavena asked me about my vision for my hair and offered useful tips on how to wash and style my fine hair type and my asymmetrical pixie cut. I loved it and felt human again! A few days after I played around with my hairstyle a little more, I wanted certain parts to be trimmed a little more. Kavena had a super busy schedule, but still fit me in a few days later at the end of the day (for which I am very grateful). I felt bad for taking up her extra time and tried to rush through the appointment, but Kavena was warm and asked questions and checked in with me to ensure she was addressing the concerns that I had. I met Kavena a few years ago when she was working at another salon (before starting her own). SHE SAVED MY HAIR. I had gone to another salon the day before and had asked for a touch up of my ombré. The lady who did my hair had zero idea what she was doing and I ended up with a straight line across my head dividing blonde from brown hair. It was awful and only 3 days before Thanksgiving! Luckily I found the salon Kavena was working at and she saved my hair and fixed my ombre BEAUTIFULLY. I have a been a loyal customer ever since and I don't plan on letting another person touch my hair again. Kavena is amazing at hair and so kind! So easy to talk to and never awkward.
