We went to get tattoos for myself and my husband and my husbands was going to cost a lot but mine was just little. I talked with the owner and she set my husbands appointment up with Ryan and she was going to draw mine up so it would fit and then told me that my husbands appointment was at 10 and mine would be 10:30 when she got there. Well at 10:30 I called and she totally blew me off and said she didn't schedule it with me but to have Ryan do it. She remembered talking with me about it but just forgot she was going to do it. I was very disappointed and my husband probably wouldn't have gotten his if he would have known. After talking with my niece who had received a tattoo from Ericka I am so glad I did not get it done. piercing review: came here in 2019 to get matching sister ear piercings and it was a great experience. came today to run it back -- and the piercer was a spaz-- she had trouble telling us what was available for jewelry even though she was the sole piercer. she seemed annoyed at any questions (i was apprehensive bec i had a conch piercing before that got a keloid so wanted to know my options)-- i can tell when i'm being annoying and i assure you i was not. she really lost me when i was like "do you recommend a ring or a stud if i was to get a conch again" and she replied with "i don't care dude, honestly i don't really care" lol, byeeeee I feel bad for her coworkers and for the record the woman answering the phone and helping schedule was super sweet and i empathized with her having to deal with the piercer. i won't name names but up the street like 15 mins walk there is a v great place and i had a great experience, 10/10 recommend. ps they also don't have aftercare solution here-- not a huge deal but the other place had some avail. read more

We walked in 3 separate times during the 6 nights we were on the Big Island. Each time we walked in, we were told that they were too busy to discuss switching out my jewelry and my friend wanted to get pierced. We were basically blown off. No suggestion to call later or text a certain person. Additionally, I attempted to call the number on the business card only to be hung up on. Finally spoke to someone who was on vacation. And they gave me the number to the store but it just rang- no one answered. Not friendly, not helpful. And parking was a bitch! I read more

I had made an appointment with Hana a month in advance. I showed for my appointment fifteen minutes early so I could show her how I would like my flowers ( already outlined) shaded in. When I arrived she had a client (tourist) on her table. The man at the counter said she was just finishing up. I come back in fifteen minutes, she had had another tourist on her table, And said it would be an hour. An hour goes by and I go in to see if she is ready for me. She looks at me rude and says"I will call you when I'm done". I go back in two hours and want my deposit back and she tells me "we don't give deposits back" . "We"as in who is we? She is independent. I tell her I am going to call Erika and she says " go ahead " I tell Erika what was going on and Erika said she would advise her to give me my deposit back. I go back in and she wants to reschedule with me. At this point I am very upset and tired. I live a 90 miles drive round trip to kona. I took time to pick out the right cloths to make it easy to get to the tattoo, hired a dog sitter, and I made the time to pick my husband up from work when he got off. I gave her three hours to shade in my flowers on an existing tattoo. She then tells me she can do a partial and I can come back to have the rest done. I tell her I gave her three hour and fifteen minutes and she says it was going to take a lot longer than that. Point is I wanted and prepared for my tattoo to be completed in one session at the time I made the appointment one month prior. I also own my own business and would never disrespect one of my clients the way Hana did. Shame on you! 0 star for Hana vibe gave me a migraine, customer service 0 star. i had made an appointment on a sunday and has emphasized sunday multiple times on the phone and over text... when i get in there they say "oh i have you down for tuesday..." which was clearly not correct. They were still able to sit me down with the other artist but when they were informed they were doing my tattoo instead they seemed less than pleased and did not attempt to hide it and expressed their displeasure in the type of tattoo i was getting done. the tattoo itself is done very well however they also ignored my budget and i paid almost $100 over what i said i was trying to pay. the aftercare instructions were questionable as i was told to leave the saniderm for 4-6 days (i have always been told 2-3 at the most) and that length caused my skin to break out in hives. read more

I was not aware that they had changed my appointment to be 2 hours earlier than we agreed on, they did not make an effort to call me when according to them I "no called, no showed". I called them repeatedly on My way to the shop to make sure that someone was there, I didn't get a call back for over an hour. the lady on the phone told me that I was at fault when I had made the appointment in person, confirmed the time, given my number, then Tried to confirm over the phone this morning, was completely ignored until an hour later, and was lied to about what I knew and confirmed to be true. I do not recommend unless you want a headache. read more

Update: I went to another piercer because my ear started getting infected / irritated and it turns out that Hannah also pierced my ear incorrectly, so she was really as incompetent as I suspected. She didn't take into account the anatomy of the human body at all, and she pierced the top of the soft part of my ear instead of the actual helix. Because of this, my two ear piercings began to build up fluid and were swelling into two raised bumps. I had to get the piercings removed and redone even though I paid K Town Tattoo $130. Also, since the placement of the piercings were in the top soft part of my ear, they were very susceptible to getting torn. This shop owes me money for this terrible trauma, and I'm going to sue. This was the icing on the cake during my trip to Kona... It's always a little unnerving to go into a different shop with an artist you've never worked with before... It could be great or it could be sketchy... in this case it was fantastic... First off, the girl that greeted me was so sweet and welcoming and cute as a button! She was chatty, and I am too so it was great. Side note: Her Clockwork Orange makeup was pretty rad... Ultimately and obviously the best part was having a supportive artist like Todd. He understood what I wanted, and he gave me a design I was really happy with... After seeing his portfolio I'll probably go with more realism next time... I tend to twitch which he understood, and whenever I apologized for it he just kinda laughed. Clearly he's experienced enough to know how to handle it without getting super annoyed... They have an artist there who is an islander like me and it meant a lot to me for her to not just take my money and do the work. She referred me to him knowing how much more meaningful and impactful it is go het tattooed by a fellow islander when it comes to the culture and heritage. My husband and I decided to get tattoos we had both wanted for a while, and we were on our honeymoon so no better occasion. After researching several artists and shops on the big island, we decided to visit K Town in person and possibly book. When we walked in several people were in the lobby and almost all the artists were with clients but made us feel noticed right away. We talked to one of them and showed them the designs we were thinking. They knew the right artist for each of us and booked us for the day before we flew out (in hind sight that was an awesome plan as it rained that day!) We paid $200 deposit to hold both of our spots. I had a orchid spray I wanted and my husband wanted a tribal. Rebecca was recommended for mine and Josh was the shop tribal tattoo expert, so my husband was excited/relieved to have him. When we showed up that morning Rebecca already had a sketch and stencil ready to show me. We worked together to decide on size and placement on my forearm. I wanted it to take up as much space as I we could in the timeframe allotted. She started tattooing and I was surprised at how gentle and articulate she was! I have a few larger tattoos so I was prepared for much worse pain; but i hardly felt a thing. Her linework was magic to watch. We had an awesome conversation, which made the whole experience even better and somewhat meditative. I had so much fun watching her shading in and creating contrasting details at the end. We took a break every 45-60 mins. Total tattooing time about 4 hours. After my experience, i don't know how I can go anywhere else. husband and I tried booking our tattoos for our honeymoon at this tattoo parlor two weeks prior to the time we were there. I put in an inquiry and never got a call, but got an email from Todd saying to call and set a time so I called and they took down my Information and then told me I would get a call back. Instead they texted me at 12 am four days before and said they could get us in. They told us to come in at noon on Sunday. I called to see if we could get in early today and the lady, Erika said the Inquiry page would send out Inquiry to all the ktown tattoos and that they didn't have my info... and were booked up for the rest of the day. This is the icing on the cake of shitty customer service in Hawaii. On our honeymoon, we've had problems with every island (we went to Oahu and Maui too). Would not recommend you giving your money for someone to put ink into your skin with a business this disorganized. read more
