We've been a client since last Nov/Dec 2016 since we adopted our first dog from SFSPCA. Andrea, the owner and operator of K9Rockstars, is such a great dog walker and auntie to our (now two) dogs. After our very loved dog walker left on maternity, we really struggled to find a solid mon-fri mid-day walking situation for my 2 y/o pit. Wixon joined Andrea's group about 3 weeks ago and we have been so so pleased not only with her solid communication about his recall and adjustment to the group, but also with his clear progress in learning doggy socialization etiquette that he demonstrates on walks outside of the group. ANDREA...IS...AWESOME! And I don't mean the everyday use of the word like, "this steak/quinoa salad/coffee/beer/ice cream is awesome", I mean, "holy crap, how did I get so damn lucky?!" kind of awesome. She is so strong, hardworking, compassionate, honest and sweeter than a Georgia peach. K9 Rockstars is such an appropriate business name because she herself is truly a Rockstar! I couldn't have been more fortunate and thankful to have met her when I did. For two weeks I had been driving home from work in the middle of the day to take Agnus (a Doxi/Chi/Terrier?) and Fuggles (a ChiWeenie), my little rescue hop dogs, for an hour-long walk, because Agnus had become destructive on a daily basis and showing behavior problems due to her energy level and separation anxiety, then heading back to work (and staying late to make up those 2+ hours). This was stressful and unsustainable. Fuggles was about 2.5 years old, had basic obedience, was very sweet and timid of larger dogs (among other things). Agnus also had basic obedience, was a year old, sweet, high energy and scared of most puppies and dogs (at 3 months she was already "broken", and puppy training and socials hadn't helped much). My pups didn't go off-leash. I hadn't even learned how to teach them how yet, and being small and easily spooked, I was worried they would run off or get hurt. I opted for safety and kept them on a six foot leash, but also felt bad they couldn't stretch their legs and run. The three dog walkers I had already contacted that took small, timid dogs didn't have space in any of their packs. Then, on November 11, 2016, I crossed paths with Andrea at the dog park in Stern Grove while she was walking one of her packs that came over to greet me and my pups. This pack consisted of one newer dog still dragging a leash and a few seasoned, calm, larger dogs. At the same time Andrea was quickly walking towards us, calling her pack, assuring me that her dogs were friendly and that they loved small dogs and apologizing because she could see my pups were uncomfortable. My pups were fine as soon as Andrea's pack turned it's back on us to get treats for doing as asked. I briefly explained my pups' timidness and my situation, and confirmed that she was indeed a dog walker. She said she could make room for my pups in one of her packs after a quick reorg (she already knew who they would do well with), assured me that all dogs stay on leash until she knows they are ready, gave me her business card, I filled out and sent the necessary information documents and within four days my pups were out on their first pack walk! When I got home that night, the pups were excited to see me and were hyper for a short time, then sleeted down on the couch. Wow! That's exactly what they needed! I was never going to be able to give that to them while working a more than full-time job. I seriously struck a jackpot! It really is true Andrea goes above and beyond whenever she can. Once, Fuggles swallowed a rock from our backyard. Thankfully he threw it up, but was severely dehydrated and had to stay in the hospital for a couple days until he could hold down food. Agnus' separation anxiety is off the charts if she is left alone without Fuggles and I wasn't able to stay home with her, so I asked Andrea if she could give Agnus two walks...she took her all day for both days! This was last minute and life saving! Another time, Fuggles had to have minor surgery and, again, Andrea worked Agnus into her schedule so she could get extra walks each day so her time alone was shorter. I could always tell how much she loved both of them. They both became more confident, learned to follow their pack and listen to Andrea's direction, greet other dogs *properly* (nose to butt, not nose to nose) and not shy away from them (was blow away when I saw the progress for myself on a walk one weekend in Stern Grove). If Fuggles was having an "off" day, needing extra love and attention, Andrea would carry him around and snuggle him, which he has trained me to do! Agnus finally had someone who would let her give as many kisses as she wanted to give. Eventually, Agnus promoted herself to pack leader and would strut confidently at the front, and Fuggles decided instead of being timid around large dogs, he would strut around the park and bark at all of them, telling them he's the boss (at least in his own mind he was). At home, I quickly started referring to Andrea as my pups' "other mommy" because I knew she loved my pups as much as I did. The day before we moved out of state in August 2017, Andrea took the pups for most of the day so they could say goodbye to all their friends and so she could have as much time with them as possible, knowing how much she was going to miss them. It still makes me sad my pups don't get to spend time with her anymore and my boyfriend and I really miss her, too. read more

This review is long overdue because I've struggled to put into words just how much I've appreciated Andrea over the past one and a half years that she's walked my dog--Ollie. When I first looked to hire a dog walker to expend some energy from German Short-haired Pointer puppy, I did not expect to find someone who would love and take care of my dog, while also being honest, reliable and trustworthy with me but that's exactly what I found! My dog was just an insane puppy when we hired Andrea and her firm yet gentle nature is what first impressed me. She essentially trained my dog to be in her walking group. Over the first few months, she worked with my dog to improve her recall (which was terrible at the time) and her on-leash walking. Once she felt confident in my dog's recall, she took her on off-leash hikes/walks a few times a week. Andrea has always been very communicative with me so even though we rarely see each other in person and I always know what is going on with her and Ollie. For example, she once texted me to let me know that Ollie's walk had been cut 15 minutes short one day due to unsafe circumstances at the park (which she described to me in detail) and that her walk would be longer the next day to make up for it. So honest and reliable! Her rate is more than fair since she delivers the best dog walking service in the area. In an area saturated with dog walking businesses, Andrea is truly a gem. She took great care of my crazy raccoon hunting dog, he likes to hunt them in the middle of the night when he hears them and loved my overly affectionate cat. Andrea has been taking care of our dog since the day we got him, about 1.5 years ago. He was a rescue dog and was not trained - he did not have any recall at all. She was very willing to take him on to help train him on recall and used a series of longer and longer leashes in order to give him more freedom but keep him safe while at the beach with a ton of other distractions! Andrea regularly walks our high needs/ seizure prone fur baby. He has had problems when we board him with others. She recently watched him for 10 days for us and house sat for us.
