Since the retirement of Dr. Roger Beckman and, I'm guessing, the sale of ACC, it feels like the focus has shifted from pet care to pet sales. We brought our puggle in because one of her nails was growing abnormally and needed attention. This was a follow-up visit after an initial appointment that cost $392 for an exam and antifungal medication. At today's visit, we were given two options: sedate her for about $200 and trim the nail, or trim it without sedation and give her something for discomfort beforehand. We chose the second option. The nail was trimmed back, along with the rest of her nails. When we received the bill, however, we discovered we had been charged nearly $100 for a Carprofen injection that had never been quoted. My wife questioned the charge, and the technician acknowledged the concern, but by then the injection had already been administered. The total bill for today's visit? $317. That included the injection plus $37 for two Carprofen caplets. So after spending more than $700 between the two visits, we ended up with a trimmed nail and a lot of sticker shock. To be clear, Dr. Sullivan was great. She was professional, caring, and took the time to explain the treatment plan. My issue isn't with her. It's with a process that seems increasingly focused on adding charges and selling services rather than providing transparent, affordable care. After 25+ years as a customer, that's disappointing. Pet owners should ask detailed questions and get all costs in writing before authorizing treatment. Sadly, it's probably time for us to find a new veterinarian.

It really feels like this place has changed ownership, because the standard of care has completely tanked. I took my elderly dog in earlier this week, and he was left suffering because the fill-in vet on duty apparently "wasn't allowed" to prescribe certain types of medication. How do you even leave a vet on duty as the *only* doctor available if they aren't fully permitted to prescribe what a patient needs? They told us to come back first thing the next morning when a regular vet could sign it. I took the day off work and showed up at 8:00 AM , waited an hour, and was told they'd call me when it was ready. I came back at 11:00 AM, and still, no written prescription. When I asked why it was taking so long, the staff literally told me the vet was so busy he hadn't even had time to go to the bathroom. Look, if your clinic is that poorly managed, don't schedule appointments and don't tell people to show up at 8:00 AM. It's now pretty obvious why they make getting a physical prescription such a nightmare: they've heavily shifted their practices to push their own in-house mail-order service to bring in more money. What they don't tell you is that their mail-order takes days to actually get to you, and they completely hide the fact that under California state law, you have the right to a paper prescription you can take to any outside pharmacy. Using chaotic scheduling and corporate sales tactics as an excuse to let a suffering animal go without medication is completely inexcusable. The total lack of urgency and terrible communication completely broke two decades of trust.

Dr. E does a great job explaining everything and does amazing with nervous kitties as well! The reception team is also incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes every visit that much easier. Their pricing is pretty reasonable compared to the vet clinic I used to take my cats to. I'm so glad I found a clinic that actually cares about animals and not just your money ! Highly recommend!

Took my cat in for a hematoma on his ear, and they prescribed him a steroid as well as an ear…read moreinfection treatment. The steroid he was on ended up giving him FIC, so we took him back and they told us he needed immediate surgery or he could pass away. They wanted to charge us $1060 for a catheter and tests. But after 45 minutes of telling them I cannot afford a bill like that they somehow were able to drop the price down to $300 for the same procedure. They told us surgery would be between $5-7000. And as I was crying in the exam room trying to figure out what to do, the vet tech told me in a snarky tone if I don't get him this surgery he will die a very painful death then walked out of the room. We took him home and started doing home treatments as we saved up for surgery and he ended up being comfortable his last few days with us. Update: we just had to put our cat down today

This isn't our usual vet due to 2x price difference from here and there. Also we were here from a recommendation from my friend who has been with Dr. Mondares for years. So I thought why not. Let's try this place out. Located right off of a highway, plenty of parking spaces. The inside wasn't all that new or fancy, but it was clean. I was greeted by a lady in the front and she was welcoming. She was the only one working the desk and answering calls and checking people in. Busy lady! We waited about 15-20 mins for a vet tech to get our information and take my corgi for teeth cleaning. This vet tech was not welcoming but it was early in the morning so understandable. I took my dog around 8am and they were done about 1-2pm and I was able to get her after work. Dr. Called to explain what happened, if my dog needed any extraction (she did not needed it) and after care. For the next few days my dog did have bleeding poop but when I called, that's apparently normal. So I wasn't worried. It did go away after few days. Overall, I did not have in person interaction with the doctor but I'm happy with her service.

When we met with the vet for the first time he said the dog may have ear infection and to watch for it . We back to get 2nd vaccine and we ask to check the ears again since we think something going on , and the said our appointment for vaccination only ! And we need to book another appointment and the only availability its a week from now ! How didn't even lift her ear to have a quick look while im there for vaccination!!!
