I like that parking is ample, there is easy access in and out of the park, and the walking paths are wide and well maintained. The State Fair is obviously the best known activity at Fair Park, and second the OU-Texas football game at the Cotton Bowl, but beyond that there is actually a lot of other attractions. Our recent trip was to the aquarium but along the way we encountered the farmers' market which I did not even know about. There were maybe 20 vendors selling all sorts of canned, bottled, and packaged edible items, as well as non-food arts and crafts. It was not as extensive as some markets we have been to, but it was pleasant enough. Our destination was the aquarium where they were featuring dissection of squids for kids. It certainly is not the biggest we have visited, but it is still fun for kids. Favorites were feeding the sting rays ($5 for food) and having minnows eat the dead skin off your fingers. Other than that, it was fun just to stroll around and look at the people, plants, birds, and turtles. It is all very family friendly and a great way to spend some time on a nice weekend day.

I remember there were talks to turn the pool into a skate park. At the end, they city decided to go with a splash park. Around the splash park, there are tennis courts, tables and grills, baseball fields, playgrounds, walking trails and open fields for picnics or a quick game of touch football/soccer. There are plenty of trash cans around and the restrooms are usually clean. The weekends during the warmer months are pretty crowded as it's available on a first-come-first-serve-basis. I'm not sure if you can reserve the park, but there is a number available on their website. Best of all, this park is free!!! Great fun for the entire family!

It was well thought out and the decor and photo staging areas, the tables themselves, and the people putting it on were reminiscent of the classic Walt Disney version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The food was delicious and well-presented on three-tier cake stands, the tea, of course, was spot on, and they had a Four-Piece String Quartet playing music that reminded me of Bridgerton music. It was a fun vibe and people even dressed up to come to it. Seriously, EVERYONE had a great time and I recommend you check out their events calendar and try to book a table when they do this again!

They have restaurants near by and it's a safe area overall I'd say to walk even in the evenings, there are usually people around since it's in the center of many apartment complexes and homes. They host alot of different events throughout the year too, which are fun, most of them free while some, such as the Taste of Addison cost money but are still worth checking out. They're planning on renovating the park soon, so I can't wait to see what they do to it. I do think that's the one thing they're missing, is more to do at the park. It'd be nice if we got a pickleball court, or a playground or something to entertain yourself while you're there. I think it'd attract more people for sure.

I hope management invests in refreshing the park because it could be a great family destination again.

This is a great area for running, hiking and/or biking also. The garden connects to nearby trails and parks as well. Or just come by to admire/take some pics and download an app to hear audio on the history behind each sculpture! The fountains are beautiful as well and there was lots of greenery, flowers, beautiful landscape. Tons of coffee shops/beverage spots nearby to grab a sip or bite to eat too before moseying around. Since I came here for a workout did not venture inside but plan on checking out the indoor sculptures as well! Come enjoy some culture and expand your mind. You will be so glad that you did.
