I'd seen the reviews, and I now can say the reviews weren't exaggerated. When I first called Greg last November he was honest about the time fragment it would take. I unfortunately called during the holidays, which was not good. I later called in March, amd he told me then, sort of leveling with me that this sort of work takes time, like 4-6 months. It wasn't a bad wait and I was patient. The saying goes, "all good things come to those who wait," and it's true if you want a master to handle your antiques. I've sanded, stained wood before, and it's no easy task. It's a time-consuming endeavor, and I also didn't trust myself restoring antique bookcases. In retrospect the price was reasonable for the result. I now have an admirable place to keep my Ulysses, and restored bookcases my ancestors would be proud of.

Fortunately I had not paid for the flooring yet so, when I was left to find someone new to do the job at the last minute, it was a stressful nightmare (had to put the plumber off for a third time- the first 2 were due to the sheetrock guys) but I wasn't out any money. After a few hours of looking up online reviews and hearing ridiculous prices from various flooring companies who couldn't do it sooner than 3 weeks out anyway, I finally stumbled across a local company that I had no idea even existed! Enter KC Floorworx! Melissa (works in the office) answered the phone and listened to what I needed, then assured me that they could help. I was so relieved I may have started crying on the phone, lol. She was amazing and put me at ease, but did say they only install their own products. Ok, no problem, I will look at your options. While talking with her on the phone I found 2 options that were very similar to what I had chosen from Menards, so she worked up a quote for both and called me the next day. Melissa had someone (I think the owner?) out the next day to measure, talk about what I was wanting done, and order the material. I had to work the day of the install (about a week later) so my parents tag-teamed being there with the floor guy who came out and both said he did an amazing job and was very thorough and detailed in his work.
